Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni Robotic Vacuum White

Hands down, this is the worst vacuum I’ve ever owned, and in the top 3 worst purchases made. For $1,500 I had high expectations and it delivered for the first 90 days. After that it just because a source of headache. The mapping features won’t save, it constant disconnects from wifi, the main brush stops spinning, it constantly “gets lost” and can’t find the station, and leaves so much mess on the floor. Nearly every morning I have to hunt for this piece of junk to find where it decided to stop working, while most of the house is left unvacuumed. The voice commands only work when you are NOT speaking to it, the bag claims to be full even when it’s empty, it often says “return to charge” right after starting a job, and has destroyed my rugs by pulling threads out and ... MoreHands down, this is the worst vacuum I’ve ever owned, and in the top 3 worst purchases made. The voice commands only work when you are NOT speaking to it, the bag claims to be full even when it’s empty, it often says “return to charge” right after starting a job, and has destroyed my rugs by pulling threads out and getting tangled. I bought all new parts last month, because it was claiming everything was “heavily worn”, scrubbed it inside and out, and have gone so far as to sanitize the base, hoping for any resolution for all its problems. Now it just refuses to complete a job, and I find myself yelling at the dumb computer voice throwing errors my way every time I touch the thing.I wish I stuck with the iRobot vacuum systems I was familiar with instead of trying to “upgrade”. The only thing increased was price and frustrations. Love yourself enough to choose something else!

I absolutely love this vacuum/mop robot. This thing has made keeping my house clean with 4 dogs. It is vastly better than my cheap one I had before. The price point is pretty high but we happened to get it at a steep discount due to it being on sale plus open box. My very few complaints would be that it won’t vacuum and mop at the same time on carpet. You have to remove the mop pads for it to go on the carpet to clean and put them back on after the carpeted areas are done. I’d have loved to have a machine that automatically shuts off the mop pads when on carpet then turns them back on again when done. Also I’d love to be able to use aftermarket cleaner as opposed to the Deebot brand cleaning solution that is also pretty expensive. Maybe if they programmed it to respond to “Ok Deebot” instead of “Ok Yiko” it may pick up our voices better. And lastly the bottom of the station gets very dirty after about a week with dirt from the mop pads. Not a big deal at all but some minor adjustments could make it better. Overall though this robot is super smart and the features it does have are amazing. It does an excellent job of accurately mapping our whole house and keeps all the areas very clean. I have mine programmed to run every light at midnight so it’s not irritating my dogs lol. The camera function is pretty cool to be able to use to spy on them though when we aren’t home and can’t see them on the in house cameras. An added bonus is that the top of the robot is tall enough that it won’t fit under our couch and get itself stuck like our previous one. Overall I’d totally recommend this robot if you can afford it. Pretty sweet device though.

I originally purchased a Roomba J7+ and Braava M6. While the J7+ worked well the Braava M6 was junk, it couldn't map properly and had issues leaving one room. My J7+ while vacuuming did a excellent job but had issues with obstacle avoidance. I even had it replaced by IRobot and the replacement did the same thing.I decided to try the Deebot X1 Omni because of the Black Friday sale. Right out of the box this thing weighs more then the J7+. The home station is massive but that's because of the clean water and dirty water tank. While large the base station actually looks very nice and doesn't take away from your homes style.Performance for this thing amazing. I started to see just how good this robot is from the start. While large the base station actually looks very nice and doesn't take away from your homes style.Performance for this thing amazing. I started to see just how good this robot is from the start. I sent it to do a mapping run. It took roughly 15 minutes. I was shocked and couldn't belive it, I thought for sure it didn't do a good job mapping seeing as the Roomba J7+ took 45 minutes for the same space. I opened the app and sure enough it mapped the entire area correctly! The lidar scanner really does amazing things. The vacuuming job it does is on par with the J7+. But out of the box the X1 Omni does better at obstacle avoidance. You can actively see it notice am object and go around it. I also find that X1 Omni hits less walls and furniture legs. While I would hear the J7+ constantly clunk against walls, furniture legs and other stationary objects. I hardly ever hear the X1 Omni do it.The moping function for the X1 Omini is good, the rotating pads do a good job scrubbing the floor. You are only using water for this moping function as it recommends not to add cleaner ( so you don't clog the lines). But through some research I found out Ecovacs is releasing a cleaning soultion you can pour in your water tank that will work with their system. It is on pre order the date that I write this with a release date in a weeks time. The base of the X1 Omni cleans the mop pads and even air drys them so in a few hours after moping the pads are dry.The X1 Omni has a viewable camera so you can either watch it vacuuming or you can use it as a roving security camera ( which you can control its movements remotely from your phone or tablet). The robot does give a audible warning that the camera is being viewed externally. One feature unique to the X1 Omni is its own dedicated voice assistant. It will talk to you about what the robot needs when it needs help or returning yo empty itself. With the onboard voice assistant you can actually call to the X1 Omni to come to you and clean up a mess that happen close to you. It will leave it's doc and come find you and clean the mess for you. While I gave this a 5 out of 5 overall I do have two minor complaints. First one is the fact you have to take off the mop pads to go on carpet. Would have been nice for it to lift the pads but it's not the end of the world. The other minor complaint is the app. The IRobot app is very user friendly and easy to navigate. The Ecovacs app you need to take more time to get used to it. Once you get used to the app it allows for more control over the robot. It even shows you exactly where the robot is during its cleaning cycle. Allows you to pick one of three clean or mop settings. Allows for you to tell the robot to mop only ( normal mop function it vacuumes at the same time).
