Edifier R1280DBs Lifestyle Speakers (Black)

I was really looking forward not only to hearing these speakers but also loving them after all the reviews I read. Setting up was indeed a breeze. There are a few very puzzling things. Either because the speakers I received are defective or maybe my ears are not sensitive enough: 1) The bass and treble attenuation keys did next to nothing to the sound even though I always prefer the neutral position. 2) I don't understand what the sound field extension button on the remote is for, in any event it made no difference either on or off. 3) The most disappointing thing (and very strange to me) about these speakers is the sound is very dull and muffled at low volume, and only slightly better at higher volume, all the time bass and treble attenuation did nothing to improve ... MoreI was really looking forward not only to hearing these speakers but also loving them after all the reviews I read. Could it be even though these are refurbished, time is needed to break them in?

Bought the s3000 series pro and paid 899$. The speakers blew in 3 months. Contacted edifier and they sent a replacement pair. 2 months later, they break. Contact Edifier, they sent another pair. After unpacking and setting up, I noticed there are scratches on the black. Upon further inspection, they sent me a used pair. Well i called and spoke with a supervisor and stated i paid almost 1000$ for new speakers, not used. They basically said tough shit. I asked for a partial refund as a mint condition set on amazon is 599$, they said no. They do not stand behind their products and rip you off. I wouldn’t recommend buying anything off this company as they are thieves. Im sure this review will be taken down but theyre a bunch of scam artists

Performance:fantastic sound for a low price. it's worth every cents. suitable for somebody who simply wants better sound than common desktop speakers.Audiophile review: the midrange is slightly drowned out by the bass and trebles, no matter how you turn the knobs down. So the sound of vocals may be somewhat lacking in bassy music.Those loving punchy music will find this speaker just nice. The bass may not be the lowest of low, but it's well rounded and still pumps out a good beat.Personally I'd rate this as the most affordable of audiophile beginners choice

Performance:Pretty decent for the price. I enjoy the sound. Did a little bit of software EQ and it sounds very serviceable. Relatively flat freq. response across the range once EQed and good performance overall. Do look up some graphs on the freq. response curves should you need more information. If you're expecting super trash heavy bass, don't look here. But if you're looking for a good bang for your buck audio quality then this is for you.

Excellent, Clear Sound for a Small Space

Bought these to use at my desk in my office. I wasn't looking for the loudest speakers out there, just something clear and accurate, and I wasn't disappointed. I use Tidal via bluetooth from my phone, and the sound quality out of these is excellent. Crystal clear sounds without too much fluff. There is a bit of criticism from others about the low end not being powerful enough, and to that end there is some truth. Because I share my office with someone, I decided not to get a subwoofer to attach to these, but that is an option if you decide to. Great speakers for an amazing price

I bought this for under $150. That's an absolute steal for these high quality speakers. They have very clear sound, good range, and good bass. Bass is not "amazing" due to the size of the speakers, so don't expect huge bass. Reasonably expect what you think could come from this size of small speakers. For me, a non-audiophile, the bass is good. You can always hook up a subwoofer to it for more bass. Overall has lots of ports. I never use the Bluetooth feature, mine is physically hooked up to my laptop and that's just how I like it.Though it said "refurbished-excellent", mine is basically new--no marks, scratches or anything. What it does, is exactly "remove" the sounds that we try to remove with the equalizer (but there is NO need for an equalizer, it sounds GREAT!).It does NOT matter what the specs say, what matters it how we perceive the sound. And this is PERFECT!Just give it a few days to "break in". It REALLY makes a difference. Some disagree with that, but it is true, the system DOES take a little while to get "in place" so to speak. You would no longer need to upgrade you speakers further down the line because of that, your sub would TAKE AWAY the job of your small speakers from doing the bass. The small speaker becomes a MID RANGE speaker. With a sub your little system becomes a fantastic 3 way system.BUT seriously, if you don't listen to really really loud music you probably are just fine with the single pair. They go low enough to NOT need a sub. It's really up to you.I try to avoid going the the other guys, its good to be fair to the others, ya know?!So to sum up: I would definitively recommend buying those speakers, no doubt about it!

Terrific value bookshelf speakers from Edifier

This is an excellent bookshelf speaker for those on a budget who are trying to get the most for their dollar. I have several other bookshelf speakers from high end speaker manufacturers but wanted a pair for my spare room tv which sounded terrible. Easy to get connected by all the input offerings and the blue tooth worked fine. I have only a couple of recommendations for the manufacturers. Change the design of the volume knob on the side of the active speaker to show a zero to max with gradients. The present design just allows you to adjust the volume up and down but doesn't hit a stop point although the volume doesn't keep increasing to excess so as to damage the speakers.
