Difficult to connect, connection drops. Use Elgato stream PCI card, works great. This is terrible. Doesn't connect from phone at all but can be seen form it. Sometimes connects from PC if it's in the mood. Pointlessly complicated. Why when connecting a light to my wi-fi would I need to hold the eye button to reveal it, whay is it not a toggle. Especially when doing provider passwords. It's like this was never tested in the real world, so many holes.

I previously had Dazzne panels from Amazon, which you get 2 for $200 opposed to only 1 el gato panel for $200, and I continually had issues with them. Lights turning on/off by themself, settings not holding, mounts were cheap and striped easily, etc... I finally had enough of them just acting wonky so I went to Microcenter and purchased 2 el gato panels which is what I should've done from the beginning. I simply wasted $200 trying to save some money. The el gato panels connect with the stream deck and make everything so simple and convenient. I do recommend the stream deck with these panels if you don't already have one. They really come with a bunch of nice features and with the stream deck, it's all at the push of a button. I have always enjoyed Elgato products, from their capture cards, stream decks to their green screens & when I saw they had a light out as well I just had to obtain it. I was really surprised when I unboxed it to see that it does not plug directly into your computer via USB. Instead the lights are controlled through WiFi, which I will get into later. It comes with a range of outlet adapters to help fit an outlet that you may have. They also come with a built in clamp to mount onto your desk or any flat surface of your choice (not sure if you can turn into a tripod) the Key light is also height adjustable. If you don't have a laptop or a desktop with WiFi, you can always download the Elgato Control Center app on your phone and control the lights seamlessly from there as well! All in all I really enjoy the Elgato Key Light to the fullest extent, they are very sturdy, bright & easy to use. I highly suggest these lights to anyone that needs professional lighting! I bought these lights for both zoom meetings and streaming on Twitch. Teamed up with a steam deck these things are pretty amazing. The light is great even at the lowest of levels. My only issue, which isnt enough to bring it down a star is the connectivity to my computer. If I restart my computer, they don't sync back up all the time. I may have to turn the light off and back on to make connection. Other times it works buit just takes 10 minutes to sync. Would be nice if Elgato addressed this. Not a biggie, but if you are trying to start a meeting right away and find this out, you are scrambling to get it right.
I've successfully applied every work arounds provided by Elgato to connect my key light to the control center. Connection is lost and extremely difficult to re-establish. The internet network standard preference on newer phones does not want you connecting to unsecured networks. Impossible to maintain working status with IOS. I work from home, and can not use the control center on my work computer. This was a very unfortunate waist of time and money.
These are expensive and you'll ideally need two of them for full effect, but they are nothing short of fantastic and I would buy it again. The build quality is excellent, and the mobile and desktop apps work flawlessly for me. My colleagues and friends are blown away when I turn on my webcam, my new lighting setup just takes it to a different level. I've had clients and colleagues ask if I was in a professional studio which was pretty funny given it's just a home setup!

The software stopped working for me a few weeks ago and even though the tech support was trying to helpful it's super frautrsting for a $200 light I shouldn't have had to spent hours on troubleshooting, researching issues and trying to resolve the only thing the light is supposed to do. When I followed up I've now been told I can't return it because it's past the 30 days (not by much, like maybe another month or so) and my only option is a warranty replacement. The light is strong and lights up myself as well as the green screen behind me, but is still smooth enough to not wash my face out or leave me with strange shadows. I honestly have nothing to criticize and I am thoroughly happy with my Key Lights. I only wish I would've gotten them sooner.
Great physical product and attributes failed by an unpredictable and unreliable software. Control Center drops connectivity not often, but often enough that I can't rely on it to be ready to go when I need it most (and it has failed me at crucial times on more than one occasion). It's too bad that with all this technology, when it doesn't work properly it makes me just want a wired dummy version :( BTW I have supurb wifi connectivity for all other devices throughout house, so no idea why the light(s) happen to just forget they're connected. Not an issue on the side of the Stream Deck either.

A Master mount arm by itself is going for $40 so you can deduct that from the separate cost and the key light is essentially $160. I ended up purchasing this product over the Logitech Litra Glow light which was only $60. The cons: - Doesn't come with physical buttons to control brightness or temperature color. - Not compact or portable, especially once it's mounted on the arm. - Initial setup is through 2.4ghz wifi NOT 5ghz band. If you're not used to messing with your wifi settings, this light will drive you crazy when you're setting it up. The key is to basically turn off the 5ghz band in your router settings (Look on the side for a 192. Since it's a bigger light than the smaller Litra Glow, the light is spread nicer over a large area making it look more natural. - Can be paired with a Stream Deck for some amazing settings and quick setup profiles, even if you're not a streamer, the Stream Deck is a great productivity device. Overall, pricey light but well worth the cost when you consider that it pairs so well with El Gato's Stream Deck. I guess you do have to pay extra to get physical buttons so I hope that's an update on future Key Light models and a physical cable connection would be nice too.
