I have just cracked open my fourth jar. The first two contained 30 capsules, then, when I thought I could see a slight change after just one month, I bought two 60 capsule jars. Come week six and I definitely saw something different, I’d had more than a few ‘good skin’ days in a row. Now, in my fifth month, I see more even coloured skin tone – huge for me because I’m naturally quite flushed, and I’ve also noticed an improvement in smoother skin texture, foundation looks better now as well as it’s sitting on a more even surface.I find there is just enough serum in each capsule. The serum contains silicone, which might not be everyone’s favourite ingredient but it helps the serum to glide smoothly over the face and neck.Anyway, here’s the biggie, pores on either side ... MoreI have just cracked open my fourth jar. The serum contains silicone, which might not be everyone’s favourite ingredient but it helps the serum to glide smoothly over the face and neck.Anyway, here’s the biggie, pores on either side of my nose have more or less disappeared. Pores go through changes as we age, they can often appear bigger because the skin loses elasticity and as everything migrates south, pores look stretched. You can ‘clean’ pores of course, but you can’t open and close them, so I didn’t take much notice of the bold claims –minimises the look of pores, but yes, they have minimised - a lot. This is quite a huge thing if you think about it, even in a magnifying mirror I just can’t see them, the skin looks the same as elsewhere on my face. If you think about it, when you apply skincare, you usually start each side of your nose, so it makes sense that this area might get the highest concentration of the product. This led me to the query of what percentage of retinol is in these capsules? The kicker is – not much. I found the ingredient list and out of 27 ingredients (most of which are unpronounceable) retinol is fourth from the bottom. This is a very mild shot of retinol, but over time it does seem to work.Retinol breaks down in sunlight and loses efficacy which is why it is recommended that is applied at night. The jury’s out on whether retinol makes skin photosensitive to sunlight, but that doesn’t matter because you should always be using 30SPF (at the very least) every single day anyway, sunny or not. It’s daylight screen, not sunscreen. CONCLUSION - It’s an expensive start, but I consider the Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Line Erasing Night Serum Capsules a gentle introduction to retinol for those with sensitive skin, a chance to dip your toe in the water and see what all the hype is about. The beauty market is flooded with over-the-counter retinol products vying for your attention and your purse, but starter retinol doesn’t have to be expensive. The INKEY List sells a 30ml tube of a low percentage Retinol Serum for £9.99, it has some great reviews. The Ordinary is still producing quality skincare with short ingredient lists at a fraction of the price of other companies. I personally didn’t get on with their Retinol 0.2% in Squalane, I found it too oily and probably gave up on it too quickly but their formulas are frequently improved and updated. The Elizabeth Arden capsules are expensive, but I’m paying for gentleness and convenience, twisting open a capsule containing an exact measured dose is easy and something you would remember to do each night. It’s fast and hygienic, plus the jar is plastic so taking it away with me on holiday. I may eventually move to a higher strength but will take my time for now.

I have never used a night serum before In fact I am pretty new to using any facial serums. I have heard so many positive things about implementing retinol ceramide into your skincare routine , so was super excited when I was sent Elizabeth arden's night serum capsules to sample. The vial contained seven of the pods to try over the course of a week. Whilst at first I was a little apprehensive I wanted to see just how much of a difference they would make during the time frame. I routinely used one of the capsules every night before applying my artemis skin architects night cream. In all honesty I didn't want to like this product . I was half expecting the serum to be quite oily on the skin, but was pleasantly surprised to find that in fact it was silky and sleek and absorbed so well. I definitely noticed a difference in my skin over the period. It was so smooth and soft. I also love the fact that the capsules are so convenient to take with you when travelling away from home. Whilst I can't recommend them highly enough, personally at this moment I can't justify the £90 cost every three months I would certainly purchase this product If the price was reduced through any promotions in the future .

This is a fantastic serum! It is a powerful anti-aging serum that comes in individual capsules. The capsules ensure that the anti-aging ingredients in this serum maintain their potency, therefore delivering maximum benefits. The ingredients in serums can degrade over time, which weakens their effectiveness. These capsules guarantee optimal performance of all ingredients. These capsules contain retinol, which combats multiple signs of aging. Retinol can be extremely drying and irritating to the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin. I had received 2 capsules of this product to sample and review. Based on 2 uses, here goes my 2 cents - Firstly, I love the rose gold colour of the capsules, very attractive. Hygiene wise, I’m sold with the idea. Just twist the neck of 1 capsule (I twisted twice) and the product oozes out. The texture is neither serum like nor balm like. Lies somewhere in the middle. No fragrance. Applies like silk/velvet on skin. The moment I applied, I thought I could use instead of primer. But it says ‘night serum’, must be for a reason!? Not sure, but I will leave it to your choice. Since I can’t see changes on fine lines in 2 uses as it claims, I checked the ingredients and it contains silicone, which explains the texture. So it may not be suitable for sensitive skin. I liked ... MoreI had received 2 capsules of this product to sample and review. I liked that contains oil from sunflower seeds, olive, avocado and other fruits which acts as emollient. No preservatives is another plus. But above all, what I totally loved is the very fact that, it gives you enough amount to apply on your face and neck for each night. No confusion with the amount. You can even carry the exact number of capsules in a small container if you are travelling. You can literally tally your amount with the number of days. No wastage at bottom of jar or on the sides here. You get 100% of the product if you manage to squeeze each capsule. Would suggest using entire content once opened instead of leaving some for later in the capsule.
I have been a fan of Elizabeth Arden products already for years, in fact, decades. These Ceramide Retinol Capsules seem promising. I have done some research regarding the use/need of retinol, and these capsules promised to be 76% more potent than ordinary retinol. At a tender age of 57 the condition of my skin is of high importance to me and the advertisement of these capsules stated that 94% of users saw smoother skin - something that would benefit me. There was a pleasant gel serum inside the capsule, promising to deliver a visibly smoother skin (and mine has been a little saggy these days). I am afraid that the couple of capsules I was able to try out did not do the trick - I need the entire full-sized product to tell you more, but I am a fan, and it is a worthy ... MoreI have been a fan of Elizabeth Arden products already for years, in fact, decades. I received just 2 of these capsules to try as a sample. First important to know they are biodegradable and second, on testing, more effective when dosed individually. The dose is extremely generous and easily covered my face and the whole of my neck. If I'd had more capsules I would have seen if it were possible to just use a half and save a half but not sure if that would work. The product is just gorgeous. I currently use an expensive Estee Lauder serum which soaks in nicely, but this is very different. It is silky and rich without being sticky or greasy and just really smooth and very luxurious. My skin definitely felt instantly softer, smoother and more moisturised. I would love to use this product on a regular basis as I suspect it is one of the best on the ... MoreI received just 2 of these capsules to try as a sample. I’ve been using these capsules for quite a few months now. My skin is dehydrated, and after a bout of shingles it became ultra sensitive too. I can’t tolerate too much fragrance in skincare any longer,. These capsules leave my skin feeling comfortable and I’m getting anti-aging benefits from the retinol, which never causes my skin to ‘tingle’ like other retinols do. I use the retinol every other night, occasionally more frequently, and the original capsules night or morning. My skin is over 60, dehydrated and grateful for replenishment and it looks so much bouncier and make up looks fresher for longer. The fine lines creeping in after my illness have smoothed out, I put this down to a healthy skin barrier, retinol and vitamin c. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to receive a sample of this product. The Ceramide Retinol Capsules are a pretty metallic pink colour and you simply break off the top of the capsule. Squeeze the capsule to release the serum inside. The amount of serum in the capsule is sufficient to cover the whole face as a little goes a long way. It absorbs quickly into the skin without any greasy or oily residue. Skin is left feeling really soft and smooth and looks brightened with a matte finish. It makes a perfect canvas to then apply your moisturizer and SPF protection. I definitely will consider purchasing a full sized amount.
I enjoyed using the capsules and they left my skin feeling nicely hydrated. As I only used a small sample of capsules, I can’t speak for the long-term effects of the product; however, I did still like the short-term results I got. The product felt very moisturising and seemed to help hydrate some of my skin’s dry patches. There were a couple of things I didn’t like about the packaging of the product, one of these things being that the twist-off top of the capsule never seemed to work for me and I resorted to just cutting the top off. The other thing I didn’t like was that there seemed to be slightly too much product in each capsule which then felt like a waste. This is the 'retinol' variant of Elizabeth Arden's ceramide capsules. They also make a vitamin C and brightening variants. It is sold in either in 30, or 60 or 90 piece bottles. Each single-dose capsule twist open to reveal a silky, luxurious serum, and ensures the freshness of the active ingredients. This is a good thing, since retinol is notoriously unstable once the packaging is opened. Each capsule 'skin' is bio-degradable.The silky serum contains ceramides, plant extracts and oils, peptides and retinol. However, retinol is listed as the third last ingredient so the percentage is likely to be very low. It is understandable if they are trying to ensure minimum irritation which retinol is known to cause in some people. It doesn't contain fragrance, which is a plus. However, those who do not want silicones in their skincare will have to avoid this, as dimethicone is the second ingredient, and the texture confirms that.As someone who already uses medium to high strength over the counter retinoids, this product doesn't really change the appearance of my skin, and it's definitely not 'line-erasing' as marketed. However, it does leave skin moisturised and comfortable without any stickiness and greasiness. It has a really silky, smooth texture which is very enjoyable to apply.I do find this useful for alternating between my strong retinoid nights and 'off' nights. It's also handy for travelling, as you can just pack a few of these in your skincare bag for the journey.
