Bought this back around November 2021. light use. Last service print-out says I had printed 627 colored and 361 B/W copies. First the yellow stop and now all blank sheets. Ran nozzle cleaning, head cleaning and about 5 or 6 power cleanings. In-between the power cleaning probably ran 100 sheets through it. They state it can take a bit before it will start printing, that's why I ran lots of paper through it. I looked at each cartridge inside printer just before it gets to the print head. They all have ink in them. Not an export but I don't think the problem is with the ink. Print quality always was just ok. Had an old HP printer for about 10 years just got tired of the 3 ink cartridge. Like the idea of buying individual cartridges, so I bought this one. Very disappointed.. I bought this printer because my old Epson cost too much for ink cartridges and I was constantly having to change them. Printer was a good 10 years old and is still working fine. I bought the ET-4800 thinking this will be great. I set it up using my Android phone and everything works great. I can do everything from my phone. Then I go to use my Samsung Chromebook and the trouble starts. It wont connect when I search for the printer nothing is there. After further research it turns out that this model in not compatible with chromebook. Lower models are compatible but not this one. In this day and age how can a printer not be compatible with all computers (shame on me for not checking before I purchased). I am greatly disappointed since I usually ... MoreVery disappointed.. They haven't tried connecting yet since I just bought this printer today.

There are two main complaints when it comes to home printers, and this is the first time I've seen a printer address both.First, there is usually a high bar of computer experience needed to connect a computer to a printer, either via cable or via wifi, and this was (by far) the best experience I've had. There is a manual that comes with the printer, and an app you can download to walk you through it, both for iOS and Android, and easily downloaded via QR code on the box. Both methods work well, but they do differ a little bit in the order of the steps, so pick one and follow it alone.Second: after the initial setup, and a period of non-use, a home printer will typically have ink gummed up in the print head from drying out. Because this printer has a screen and you can easily navigate to cleaning modes here, it is MUCH easier to get the printer cleaned up and running than it used to be. Without the onboard navigation and settings, you used to have to go find printer settings in windows, dig through the screens, and find "clean print heads" in the maintenance menu. Those days are long gone, and you can get to the settings you need in just a few seconds. This alone is worth the price of admission for me.The printer itself is lightweight, and has easy accessible doors for retrieving papers that will inevitably get stuck. There is a power save mode. The only error I've had so far was when I tried to print a PDF, I would get "paper size loaded does not match file", and it would ask me if this was ok before printing. I dont quite understand why I got this since the PDF and paper loaded were set to the same settings, but its not really an issue since all have you have to do is hit OK. I was just stymied for a second on why it wasnt printing.Printing from the app is great, as is printing pictures off your phone, although I do wish there were more in-app picture settings, as it would be nice to be able to set specific and common photo sizes in the app. To get all those settings, I needed to use the desktop app. This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-4800 Wireless Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I just purchased an Epson ET-4800 printer on 6/28/2023. This will be my 5th Epson printer. All the others have lasted at least 4 yrs., so I felt Epson was the best on the market until this morning. I unboxed it this morning and followed all the directions. When I powered it up, I got a “Scanner Error 100077”. I checked with the online support, and it said to power it off. So, I did and powered it back on still getting the same error. I called Epson Technical Support and ran through all their tests. I was told I had a hardware issue. Ok this can happen right out of the box, but I was told it would be 5 to 7 days after they received the defective printer before I could get a replacement. That was option 1 and option 2 was to give them a credit card number and they would ship out another printer in 2 to 5 days. So, I picked option 3, take it back to Target today, get another brand printer and no longer buy any Epson printers and to tell everyone I can not to buy an Epson printer.
Bought this for home office to replace 12yo Epson AIO that was showing its age when printing color and photos. Set up via the desktop PC was relatively easy using the included CD and 1-sheet paper installation guide (no paper manual, need to use Internet for that). Although the ET4800 printed great photos and filling the ink tanks was super easy, it had major flaws in a couple of areas. (1) Even though it can print on both sides of the paper, it is done MANUALLY, NOT AUTOMATICALLY. Very frustrating and inconvenient to have to flip the paper over. (2) Paper is loaded in the back, not from a front tray. Paper is therefore exposed to dust, etc. (3) The info panel screen is really small and at times hard to read. (4) My laptop recognizes the new printer via WiFi, was able to easily add it to the laptop, but was unable to automatically print. May need to download the drivers to the laptop? Didn't do this as knew it would be returned due to issues 1,2,3. Document feeder worked good, but didn't use enough to fully give a review on that feature. Did not use the scan nor fax functions. This would have been a keeper if it automatically printed on both sides of the paper.
This printer worked well at first. Now that the warranty has expired, it has a few problems and now will not print at all. It makes a high pitched squeeling sound if it is on. Every few minutes it prints a few gibberish sentences at the top of a perfectlly clean page of paper, thus wasting a lot of paper. Now I find that the "ink pad needs service" and I have to decide if I try to repair this or throw it away. I had high hopes for this printer because the ink is a savings--but the life of the printer is limited. They will get their money one way or another. I have had many printers in my career. This one has, by far, the shortest life span.
I don't leave reviews, but hopefully I can save you some money. I went from using a HP OfficeJet 4000 series for many year without issue. To this Epson printer. I wanted to upgrade to the ET-4800 hoping that the tank will help cut back on waste in the environment. It's been less that 6 months, and now the printer has all kinds of issues. It is very loud, the feeder wont catch the paper, when it does it prints a black mark at the top of each page . Customer service wont help you either. They just keeps saying do a deep cleaning which uses up all of your ink then you have to refill it just to have it still not work properly. Found out later my fiancc uses same printer at her job. She has same issues, but with the the added benefit of all the ink leaking out. This is ... MoreI don't leave reviews, but hopefully I can save you some money. It was funny hearing the pre-recording or Shaquille O'Neal making a joke about getting tech support on the phone to assist you because everyone is a "VIP", but not worth the waste of $300.
Good Points: Produces good quality prints very quickly. I haven't used its other facilities (e.g. scan) yet, and it's too early to say how economical it is re ink usage.Improvement Points: Too complex - I'm sure I won't use some facilities. To turn it off (and perform other functions) you have to be able to read what it says on the tiny display screen - not easy! It also switches on automatically when my PC is switched on, unless I have turned the printer off at the wall. This is unnecessary and wasteful - I don't need to print every time I use my PC.
Very frustrated and disappointedI thought it was a good choice purchasing an Epson printer but it has cost me a lot of money, tons of headaches, stress, anxiety, you name it. I’m an elementary teacher so I use it a lot or at least I try to.After 2-3 months I had to refill the ink tankAfter maybe 4-5 months several issues started to appear. After 9 months of owning this it has presented around 5 issues/problems/errors I live in Mx but bought this in the US so is not easy for me to take it to the Epson Support guys idk what to do besides telling you all not to buy this printer maybe another series or other brand seriously it has caused me so much trouble rather than making my job easier I’m so frustrated!!!
