I'm not tall. I'm 5'7" on an optimistic day. I bought this to use with a standing desk. Seeing options between a "tall" pole version and this "normal" version I thought "no way I'd need the tall size. I'm in the 25th percentile for height among U.S. adult men. I must be the regular size." I read the descriptions of the product and nothing indicated otherwise. Turns out I'm wrong and according to Ergotron I'm a towering giant in need of a tall pole. Shipped on time, delivered in good condition, easy-enough installation, seems to do what it says on the label, supports my 27" monitor right around chin-height no problem.

The arm itself is fine, the desk mount is the problem. The c shaped clamp it comes with is only 1 exact thickness for desk with no adjustment. I thought hey, Ill just buy the adjustable clamp instead after attempting to install it it not fitting. But turns out ergotron does not sell the 2 piece clamp at all. So after tons of back and forth, I will either need to return the arms, or have arms that do not fit the table.. service also seems to be lacking..

I purchased one of these arms over a year ago for my home office and it works fantastically for my Wacom. I felt the need to buy 2 more for my employees as I felt confident that they would work well for their intended purpose. Unfortunately I was wrong. 1 out of the 2 works. When I attempted to submit a return or exchange both sets of customer service agents would not listen to my concerns and kept repeating that this was user error. I don't understand how that is the case when the arm is working just fine for my other two monitors. I'm out $190 as the customer service agents will not help me. And my employee has been without an arm for over a month while this issue has been going on. Thankfully I found a different arm brand that works just the same. First off, I want to say that the monitor arm is built well. I like the construction of it and it seems sturdy. My issue with this product is that it doesn't tilt down .With how little this arm tilts down, it made me want to purposely install the arm upside down on the monitor to be able to have the tilt range in the direction I needed. The ability to tilt up is no issue and it goes almost flat and I can see how that application would work for some people. I don't see why this product doesn't have a full range of up and down tilt? The adjustment is there and there's metal tabs blocking the ability to tilt down. Overall, the arm is good quality but doesn't fit my needs.
I found it easy to put together. I'm handy but it didn't seem to need much skill. It even has screws for the monitor that don't require a screwdriver. Having the mount adds a range of motion to my screen and reduces clutter on my desk. One issue that made me take off a star is that the first place that the arm goes on to the stand is not secure and causes a wobble when trying to raise the monitor level. So I need to use two hands and account for some give. I would still recommend it, unless there is something at a similar price that doesn't have this quirk.
You might think that this is too much for the monitor arm and there are others who are way cheaper and perform similarly, but let me tell you this, there are no others like this one. I’ve bought 2nd one and I’ve had the 1st one for over a year. It was holding 32 inch 23pound LG monitor like it was nothing. No issue with tilt, rotate or up and down movement and I did move it a lot but still works like new one. Usually over the time monitor arms will come loose and you will find your monitor sinked, but not this guy. If you want quality, sturdy, great looking arm, this is the one to go. Rn it is holding mac studio display and it looks absolutely beautiful. Just get the money and buy this arm, there are no others that come close to Ergotron.
I read many reviews on Amazon and elsewhere where folks complained about the Arm not holding their Monitor in place, or about not being able to adjust the tension properly, so I was a bit apprehensive about the purchase. I'm old, disabled, don't move all that well and have a helluva time if I have to move my desk away from the wall, or get down on the floor and deal with PC wires....but installing this Monitor Arm was a "piece of cake", simple, straightforward, and I have absolutely no problem with the monitor not staying exactly where I put it. The instructions were OK, but I found a video on Utube which clarified everything...but I found a slew of others which were a total waste of time. I tried a similar $110 arm before this. This one was sturdier and has a much better range of motion. An unexpected pro is that the monitor can dip a little below the desk it is attached to. An unexpected con is that the forward and back tilt will only tilt it down 5 degrees. Also the forward and down tilt is very stiff at least for my monitor. I have a lightish 27 inch monitor and tilting it down with the tension all the way loosened is still a chore. It might loosen a bit over time but I don't know yet. Still worth a 5 star rating though.
With two large computer monitors on my desk, I needed a flexible option to be able to view both and still be able to talk with clients from across my desk. The LX Desk Monitor Arms allow me that freedom. I can keep both monitors in front of me while I work, or when I am meeting with clients or coworkers, I can move them out of the way. It is also nice to be able to display information on one of my screens, at an angle that is engaging to both me and my clients. I have been impressed with how the cables tuck neatly away, and there is virtually no clutter on my desk. I wish that I had purchased these sooner!
Before this purchase I used other monitor arms for my two large computer monitors. My husband surprised me with an additional large pen display tablet and the combination of having two (not as great) monitor arms plus a display stand on my desk was far too cluttered. I went ahead and bought this Ergotron for the pen display and it is SO nice. I can move my pen display to just the right angle and height for drawing comfort and ease and then tuck it out of the way when not in use. Very easy and smooth movement of this monitor arm, that also stays put when weight-bearing. I'm going to be replacing my other monitor arms with Ergotron ones here shortly!
