He patented the one-piece solid steel forging for hammers and axes, which became the hallmark of Estwing tools. Their earlier hammers featured the iconic leather grip and can still be found in tool boxes today. They’re expensive but worth every penny. You’ll never need another hammer and they are contractor rated.

After 15 years in framing, formwork carpentry I've changed my hammer from my trusty industry standard estwing e3 hammer to this ultra series. I must admit it's a definite upgrade over the E3, feels really good in hand well balanced and light, but don't be fooled by the weight, it strikes better than my old 22oz and more like a 24oz. The only downside with this hammer is that it's painted and well after 1 week of intense work on pans it's taken it's toll on the nice shiny paint job, But its only cosmetic, and takes nothing awqy from a definite upgrade on the older model
Great new desighn this hammer certainly comes into its own when carcassing out love it
The Handel is too long when they described the length thought it was the overall size but was only Handel
Estwing historic quality does not disappoint. Best hammer I have ever had. American made and worth every penny. Hammer weight and balance perfect to for accurate striking. Added magnetic nail holder on top of the head and slightly added handle length handy for nail setting in out of reach places. One piece steel design solid and extremely durable yet no irritating vibration even on off strikes. Nail puller on the side of head gets difficult nails out with the added leverage. Cant go wrong with this one. Spend the little extra for this exceptional piece of equipment and you will never regret it.
Great framing hammer but the magnet on top wasn’t set in far enough, had to get a nail punch and glue it back in.
Had this hammer for a few years now and still going strong very happy with it
Had my faithful Estwing of 20+yrs stolen so bought this as a replacement. Looks poor quality. Paint finish is rough Claw tips are blued so will have lost their hardness slightly Claws slightly uneven. Disappointed, really expected better from a top marque
