Have had one for years and just replaced it. That hone puts a razor sharp edge on any quality piece of knife steel. It is definitely a finishing hone that will replace the feathered edge with a mirror polish cutting edge..

This arrived wet with a layer of rust around the edges. I have contacted the store and I am still waiting for a refund or replacement.I bought it after researching what would be a good tool to sharpen my garden tools like secateurs.I can't comment on how good the product would have been if it had arrived undamaged.

I'm sure this tool will were out. quickly. This tool is known for that.I need to sharpen my carbide tipped table saw blade. Some places sell 3 for $9 but not in the rural area where I live. Still, I'm happy to have the tool needed to sharpen the carbide tipped blade on my table saw.
Very sharp, with a fast cut. The bevel on the back of the plastic handle is a nuisance when you want to lay it down and use it like a stone, but there are larger versions for that. It is very convenient to quickly put an edge of tools, is flat and straight for accuracy and the diamond cuts anything and lasts a long time.
I got this specifically after having viewed a Paul Sellers video on how to sharpen a tenon saw (aka backsaw). The use of this particular kind of file is not to sharpen the teeth--- you use other files for that--- but to put a little bevel on the top of each tooth when you're through with the basic sharpening.It worked fine. I will caution that in that application, and perhaps in some other application of your own, the edge of the diamond plate sticks out a bit over the plastic backing and furthermore the very edge has diamonds on it.Thus the edge will tend to cut into anything that it's rubbed against. That would have been a problem for me so I filed the diamonds off of the edge using another (not too precious) diamond plate. The EZLap is a good quality product but, like most diamond coated tool are very expensive. If you need a fine file/sharpener I would recommend it. One advantage is its compact and can access areas other toolsay not.
Great quality for the price. I use it to to put small radius on boring bars and other custom tooling. Probably wont have to, but would buy again if needed.
I use these to recondition gardening implements that naturally blunten over time. Have saved me having to throw out garder sheers and loppers due to no longer cutting. A good investment for your wallet and reducing wastage.
