I can't believe I spent this much on something to heat water, but I don't regret it! I don't make pour-over so I opted for a more traditional shape rather than gooseneck. I also went with the dark blue color, which is really unique and beautiful in person. The walnut handle is perfect. I was immediately reminded of a crow when I saw the black version of this kettle, so even the name is perfect! And one more design comment - I love the little nod to old cowboy, campfire kettles. It doesn't feel old or dated at all, but it has a vintage edge I love. As for the functionality, well, I have zero complaints. I don't need much, just hot water, but it's very fast and pours without even a HINT of a drip from the spout. Pros: boils water for tea quickly, beautiful walnut handle, small size is perfect for about 2 mugs or 3 smaller cups of teaCons: some aspects of the design could have been better thought out. The cord comes straight out the back, so you can't push it flush to the back of the counter when you're not using it; it takes up more space than the measurements indicate. A cord coming up at 90 degrees would have been better since I think most people have wall outlets that would be above the base of this unit. It also doesn't seem very child or pet safe. Turning it on requires just one light button press. So I feel the need to unplug it whenever I'm not using it, which is kind of stupid for an appliance I use multiple times per day.

Great kettle, debatably worth premium cost

Didn’t realize that until I tried, and then read the fine print on the register page.Overall-I recommend if within your budget.

Great tool for upping your coffee or tea prep!
9 September 2023

Great coffee kettle. Heats up fast. It smells like plastic at first but if you run it through 10 to 11 heat up and pour out water cycles the smell goes away. There is no plastic in contact with the water in the kettle any way by its design. Very simple to operate. The key feature is the ability to set the altitude. The display is also first rate. This design is more flexible for those who want a kettle for both tea and coffee. It may not work too well for pour over coffee lovers but it works well with the Aeropress or French coffee press. Precise temperature control is a game changer for upping your coffee prep to the next level. If you are heating your water in a standard stove top tea kettle, you need the precise temperature control. It is so awkward fussing around with a temperature probe. This thing gets straight to 205 Fahrenheit (for coffee) and 180 Fahrenheit (for green tea) so fast and retains that temp, if you want it to! I use pre-ground medium roast coffee and I'm getting amazing results that matches a coffee shop.

Mixed feelings

I needed a new kettle because my Bodum started malfunctioning after many years of use. I fell in love with this design, the handle is the best feature in my opinion. Anyways, I use the kettle to heat up my baby's formula and in the first use I noticed it wasn't near as hot as my old kettle. I took the temperature of the Bodum and set it on the Fellow. I was in denial for a while because there's no way such an expensive product was not performing as it was supposed to. Well it doesn't. I let the kettle cool down and would test it again and the temperature was always off. I decided to test the water directly inside the kettle and the same issue. The temperature was never what it was supposed to be. Looks great but does not perform as well as it claims to. Pros: It's a nice looking kettle. Dial as the main control feels nice, pixelated display is a cute touch.Cons: Everything else.HOLD switch rattles. You'd expect much higher quality from $200+ appliance. This is $2-shop level of execution. It's very loose. The kettle stays continuously on after you started the heating cycle. If you pick it up while it is heating, pour a drink, and then place it down, it will continue to keep going. Even if it's already empty. This is a basic feature all kettles have, and for a good reason.Another questionable decision is how it maintains the temperature after reaching it, even if the HOLD feature is turned OFF. Pretty and functional

A little pricey but quite nice (both in aesthetics and functionality) and is working well so far.Liking the wooden handle, though I did need to tighten its screw after only a couple uses (luckily I had a 3.0 mm hex bit on hand). The temperature control is great, I especially like that it keeps the temperature for a few minutes even when the "hold temperature" feature is turned off (holding for an hour seems excessive, but a few minutes is perfect for me). Would prefer if it turned off automatically when the carafe is removed from its base -- after setting it back down, it will try to bring it to temperature again, but I often empty the pot entirely. I'll have to get used to turning it off manually as I don't want to rely on it eventually detecting that it's ...Ā MoreA little pricey but quite nice (both in aesthetics and functionality) and is working well so far.Liking the wooden handle, though I did need to tighten its screw after only a couple uses (luckily I had a 3.0 mm hex bit on hand). The temperature control is great, I especially like that it keeps the temperature for a few minutes even when the "hold temperature" feature is turned off (holding for an hour seems excessive, but a few minutes is perfect for me). I'll have to get used to turning it off manually as I don't want to rely on it eventually detecting that it's empty. I do like that it remembers the temperature setting between uses.Since it's only 1200 watts it's not the fastest kettle, but its smaller volume makes up for it. I tend to boil just over a mug's worth at a time. The interior is all high-quality stainless (except for a small silicone seal around the temperature probe), no plastic. The cover is stainless steel as well, and is fully removable instead of hinged, which is so much easier to work with.Would have appreciated a limescale filter, but I guess this will force me to descale more regularly :-)The plug is "upside-down" for me (the typical orientation of wall sockets varies regionally), which combined with the very short cord makes a very awkward loop in the air on my counter.

Pretty good, but could use some tweaks

This kettle is definitely much better quality than any of the standard Amazon fare, and the hold temperature feature is great, but there are some rough edges:Firstly, it takes an incredibly long time to "boot up" after you press the power button. I don't want to stare at your dang logo for 5 seconds, I want to immediately dial in my desired temperature. Second, the temperature nob is *really* slow. Feels like it takes several full turns to get from 212 to 170, which is something I'm very frequently doing. I appreciate having a 1 degree resolution but it could use a couple preset buttons or something.Second, why the heck is there no sound when it reaches temperature? I keep wandering into the kitchen only to realize it's been wasting electricity for 45 minutes. ...Ā MoreThis kettle is definitely much better quality than any of the standard Amazon fare, and the hold temperature feature is great, but there are some rough edges:Firstly, it takes an incredibly long time to "boot up" after you press the power button. Every kettle I've owned before this has had some kind of audible click when it reaches temperature. You wanna make a really good product? Open source the firmware. The community will gladly fix some of these oversights *for free*.Finally, I never know what to do with the lid. I realize this is a "form over function" situation but it is a very real disadvantage over the $20 kettle I replaced, which could easily be opened with one hand.

Variable temp reliable. Kettle smaller than expected. I keep forgetting the brand though. Not really.
16 October 2023

I've been using my new FELLOW Corvo kettle for a couple of weeks. I love the variable temp and find that it regularly turns off within a degree or two of my target. Also nice that the last temp setting is the default setting. At long last, my thermapen is no longer a counter accessory. The smaller size was off-putting at first (wait, did I order a toy kettle??). The kettle holds 30oz of water at the fill line but as I'm not trying to fill a bathtub, I've come to love the smaller footprint. It would be nice if the display went straight to the temp setting and skipped the brand banner entirely, since users have no use for being reminded of the brand of their FELLOW kettle every FELLOW single time they FELLOW wake the FELLOW kettle up.

What’s there not to love?

Well, I applaud the attempt to keep the water’s temperature going and going, it’s not without merit - but this is just not for me. It only interests me as a simple kettle that has three primary functions: to set a temperature, to heat to that temperature, and to shut off when that temperature has reached. The rest seems silly. And sometimes simplicity gives way to overcomplicated gimmicks, like the ā€œholdā€ button. Then again, I’m not a ā€˜pourover’ person, nor a ā€˜tea ceremony’ type, so I was looking for something more in the touch-and-go realm. Heat, then stop. Old school stuff I guess.
