Replaced this dryer for an older version condenser dryer. This dryer is easy to install, but requires a vent to vent warm air outside, this to avoid any moisture inside the house. There are venting kits available, for venting through walls or window openings. And can be mounted on a wall with supplied brackets. The dryer works perfect, easy with the direct options to program. It has less wear on clothes/ items comparing this with the older version condenser dryer. There is hardly lint left behind in the lint collector, after each dryer cycle confirming less wear on the items. Drying times are not that long any more with this dryer, due to automatic dryer sensors. Options like extra dry and wrinkle free are available to use. Really pleased with this dryer

Sporting six drying modes, with a moisture auto-sensor, it is amazingly easy to operate: just throw your (washed and spun) clothes into the front-loading stainless steel drum - easy task with its 180-degree opening doors - and click PLAY! Thats it! It defaults on AUTO which sets the sensor todry (vs moist or extra-dry) and will stop when it 'senses' the load in general has reached that level of dryness. No need to set WARM or HOT cycles, or to guess if the load needed 90 minutes, or 120 minutes. It does it all for you! Just load, and press play. Simples! But if you wanted a much more bespoke result - maybe not so dry, or even extra dry, then you can come off AUTO and set the dryer up however you like per old school style. The middle ground is of course, the six dryer modes that helps you decide what you're doing, say TOWELS, or JEANS, or lighter garments. Even fluffy toys or shoes!! The dryer came with a very thoughtful internally mounted (non-rotating) drying rack for items that you wished to be dried, but not tumbled. Being a larger capacity meant that it is notably bigger than the outgoing 4.5kg unit; but thats a great thing because now, I just about can chuck my entire load of washing into the dryer if need be! No louder or noisier than the older model, I can't say that it is a quiet unit. It does drone as you would expect from a clothes dryer. It is about twice as heavy as the 4.5kg unit (which seemed the norm in the day) and was a slight struggle to wall mount. The control panel was easily inverted (8 philips screws in total, nothing technical) to accommodatethe inversion of the whole dryer for wall mounting. Venting is by default through the front, but the unit also allows various other methods of venting (rear and or above) therefore not requiring the room to be windowed if vented out to the ceiling space or through the wall. All in all, a great purchase from a reliable, dependable, even excellent purveyor of home appliances - Thank you AppliancesOnline for a truly easy, hassle-free, and ultra-swift purchase and delivery process. Very easy to operate, with more than enough function options. I have only needed to use it on the "auto" function so far, and that seems to be quite adequate. Easy to operate, and cleaning the lint filter is a breeze. It's also not very noisy either. Have been using this dryer now for about 5 weeks. It is amazing! It dries a full load within the drying program picked. I have not had to re-dry a single load except for a quilt, otherwise everything is perfectly dry. My last dryer was an Electrolux that couldn’t dry a full load of clothes even after 3 cycles on average. I am glad I made the choice to return to Fisher & Paykel. If you’re after a great large dryer that works first time then you wont be disappointed with this dryer. I also love the rack that allows you to put shoes on to dry without them getting thrown around the barrel, brilliantly useful feature. I bought the dryer and Arranged to have it installed on a wall(just like the old dryer). I took photos with me about the exit of the hot air which was going through a pipe and out the windows. The sales person assured me that it would be done and I paid an extra$249.00 to have fitted onto the wall and the hot air to go through a pipe and outside through the windows., as how it was doing. When they delivered the dryer the personal would not install the dryer as it was not there job to do so. I showed them my sale document and very clearly dryer was required to be delivered and installed the same day. After a couple of weeks an installer came and put the dryer on the wall but he could not put the exhaust through the pipe and out the windows. Been using this over 6 months & its rubbish. Clothes dont dry properly using sensor drying. Ball up & dont dry in the middle. Takes extra long time to dry a load. Only works well with 1/2 load of light cotton. Filter cleaned every load. Bottom vent needs reg cleaning but hard to clean.Very dissappointed as usually i choose F & P but will not be buying from this brand anymore. Plenty others out there who are doing a better job. Shame as I always though well of F & P.
The first dryer was delivered and immediately on use was clearly not working as it sounded like a jackhammer. The Good Guys were awesome and immediately replaced it with a new dryer. My initial thoughts were that this dryer is quite good, although I noticed that the auto function does not always complete the job - for example sheets are not quite dry when finished. However more recently I have noticed that the dryer is not a quiet as it was initially - I haven't moved it's location or tried to dry anything heavy etc. Overall it is okay - not as good as my previous dryer which was a different brand and no longer available. It is easy to use and has a pleasing appearance.
I was in store about to purchase this model. The store wouldn't price match online stores, so I walked out. Weighing my options, also being local and a recommendation I made my first appliance online from this site. I've owned it now for 3wks and I use it every single day. I love this model and it's very fast drying. Also a saving of around $100. Very happy with this purchase. Don't think it'll be the only one from this site.
Needed a dryer at a family member’s while caring for her. I love the look of the dryer and it was expertly installed by the Appliances online team in less than half an hour! I was told to buy a cheap dryer but needed the extra capacity and features that this one provides. It did not disappoint. I love the sensor so you’re not wasting electricity on clothes that are already dry (and damaging the clothes potentially)! It is not overly noisy.
I've owned 2 FP dryers - the first stopped spinning, I put it down to use/ wear and tear and had loyalty and belief in the brand. So purchased a new model without a second thought. The replacement stopped spinning in the same way. Enquired about warranty, fair enough it was outside the manufacturers period. Organising a repair at my cost was suggested - not worth investing in a repair or purchasing a replacement as it's obvious they all have a short lifespan so no point.
