I'm writing this review as a disappointed customer. I have 5 other Eufy cameras, and have recommended them to many of my colleagues, and have been praised for the quality by Law Enforcement when I had to give footage of an incident.That being said, I am on my 2nd unit, and this time it has failed out of warranty. There is a manufacturing defect where water will get into the housing (and possibly electronics inside) of the camera. I was offered a small discount to purchase another (since the warranty is only 1 year!) but take my advice and purchase a different camera with less points of failure to cover your needs. While it worked, it was a good quality picture - it did not capture all of the footage I would have liked, but for what it did I liked the idea very much. I still love the eufy system, but absolutely cannot recommend this camera. Unless it is installed under a soffit or something where it will not be in the elements, I would strongly recommend installing another camera covering the area you need and a regular flood light.

It comes with a micro USB cable to power it from a computer or the wall if you have a power adapter handy. This allows complete setup before going outside to install, then once installed just flick the light switch on and it is up and running. The whole setup and install took about 30 minutes total just taking my time. One thing that should be made clear is that the motion detection does work with tracking during the daytime, but it doesn't turn on the lights. While I do like this...I wish that this information would be clear in the instruction manual. The unit is very efficient and has many pluses. Molding the lighting and coverage zone is simple and optimizes operation and security products. The biggest issue with the unit is an engineering problem. The weight balance to the camera causes the whole unit the shake, video captures to lose definition when in motion, and rattle so loud if obscures the audio. Common mistake with any slewing gimble required for telemetry. Perhaps softer braking too, may assist the hard stops that also make the camera shutter and interrupt the sound recordings. A product is only as good as its design and engineering, and this unit shows its weaknesses quite readily during operation.

I purchased 3 of the eufy 360-camera coverage with security light. I had all 3 devices professional installed by a certified electrician experiences with this particular brand. One of my installations required a new conduit and line run to the breaker box. The other two installs replaced standalone zone lights. I'm looking to acquire one more 360-camera and the eufy Security HomeBase next. I will update my experience in about 3 months. I'm going to give myself more time to test the various setting and update my post with a technical review. Just some background. I had these lights installed at various times between November 2023 and early January 2024 by a certified electrician. So far so good. Check out the video quality during a snowstorm from one of my cameras.
I have seven of these cameras and they're generally pretty good, however, the traits below are extremely frustrating at times.1) Not very good at tracking a subject. When a subject is moving, the camera "bounces" all over the place. It is not smooth at all! It stays with the subject, e.g.. a person walking, but the camera is above them, too far to the right, too far to the left, etc. The image is not a smooth transition at all; so the camera image goes too far ahead of the subject, then behind the subject, then too high above the subject, etc.. You cannot manipulate the camera with your finger on the screen like most other cameras.

If set to "Human Only" mode, Camera is not recognizing a walking person as Human and ends up not turning the floodlight ON. If set to "All motions" mode, you will see the flood light turning on for the movement of leaves, trees, etc.Overall, it depends on the area you need the camera to cover. If you want it for an area without any vegetation, it would do a perfect job covering the area. If you need it to cover an area with trees, a garden, etc, You might end up setting the camera to "Human Only" mode as I did but expect it to miss some activity for you.
Set up is simple & intuitive but you will want to tweek your preferences as you actually begin using it.Everything is easily controlled via the app on your phone. Amazing how sensitive to motion this floodlight cam is. Nice how it will take track a subject & take a snapshot of a key time during each recorded event. Events are easily discarded after viewing so the embedded SSD is always ready. The light is quite bright but theres a full range of color temp & brightness controls in the app which can provide effective visibility without annoying neighbors. Great product. One thing, when insalled on a wall the unit provides a flat surface where birds might perch or nest. I used velcro to set a small Owl sculpture there to discourage any visitors.
Camera was great while it lasted. It just recently started giving me issues. I bought it in the summer of 2021 and for almost 3 years it worked flawlessly. I paid full price as an early adopter, $300. $100 per year for the use, if you are ok with that then buy it. The dome filled up with condensation and water at the bottom of it causing major issues with the video, no clear picture. There is only a 12 month warranty so I'm stuck with a $300 flood light. Do not buy this version, the dome is an issue that they obviously knew about since they updated the design on the new version but are unwilling to do right for the early adopters.

Pics up cars driving by my driveway that is easily over 200 ft from the floodlight. Installation wasn't to difficult. Running an electrical line outside the pole barn was more complicated then wiring up this thing. My problem with this is like most of these eufy security devices. Its the compatibility. They say things are compatible but you don't realize how poor it is until you try to create routines, or even have them work together.
