Fluval 107 Canister Filter
External filters are an excellent option for medium and large sized aquariums. Their large size and power means they are the most suitable option for larger aquariums, or those that are heavily stocked or house messy fish which produce a lot of waste. They are also a great option for those who wish to invest a bit more in a filtration system in order to cut back on aquarium maintenance. A larger filter means larger surface area for beneficial bacteria which means more waste can be broken down. The new 07 series marks the 7th incarnation in nearly 4 decades of Fluval's top-selling canister filter family worldwide. Not only does the latest generation incorporate the power and reliability you've come to expect from the leader in aquatic filtration, but it also features several new performance upgrades that make it more robust, energy-efficient, flexible and easier to use than ever before. The 07 series is excellent for aquariums housing large and/or big groups of cichlids, carnivorous fish species, oddballs, and stingrays. The eTEC external filter features a redesigned quick primer for fast, effortless start ups and generates constant pumping power and pressure that endures over time. It is also 25% quieter than previous models thanks to the Italian precision crafted impeller assembly. The aquastop valves feature a raised lip for simplified hose disconnection and the filter is finished with single action dual locking clamps for quick motorhead attachment. The versatile media stack maximises space for flexible media configurations whilst the vertical pre-filter with new bio-foam max provides more surface area and better mechanical filtration. Finally, the easy-lift media baskets with a new central handle, provide faster media access and less mess, making maintenance a little less challenging.

This is my first canister filter tank. Previously, I had multiple Top fin filters from 10-40 gallons and multiple Aqueon filters. After my second Aqueon quietstream 50 gallon filter failed, a petsmart associate convinced me to buy this and it was the best decision I ever made for my fish. It is 100% quiet. No noise, which floored me b/c my other over the top filters would range from a light white noise buzz to the sound of rocks in a blender. This blew my mind. The most amazing part is the filter baskets and media you can put in them. If an over the top Aqueon or similar filter is a used american car this is like a ferrari with a warranty. Best purchase I ever made. The hardest part was the set up, which wasn't hard at all but a bit confusing in print. I 110% ... MoreThis is my first canister filter tank. This is a stunning filter. So easy to use and maintain. Took just two days to sort out my stubborn tank which I struggled to cycle in the past. Internal filters just don't cope.I was apprehensive in removing the pipeline, but no mess at all. So much better then internal filters where you have to remove from the tank and spilling detritus back in the waterHoses are fiddly at first, but fitting is a one time task. Also very quiet

Fluval is the best brand of filter in my opinion. I have used a larger type on my turtle tank for years. I got the smaller size for my fishtank and as expected it is great. Easy to clean and run. This model advertised that it is silent, and it actually is. Fair dinkum. Oh, and Bunnings was the cheapest around and if you have a One Pass, free delivery. Buy this!

I bought the Fluval 207 pump to replace my Aquis 1050 pump which had worked faithfully for 10+ years. My first instinct was to buy another Aquis but unfortunately I was unable to find one that could be delivered quick, so having looked at numerous reviews I bought the Fluval, and I have found it to be equally effective, it is relatively easy to set up - I originally read the set up instructions in the manual provided, but found it easier to follow a YouTube video- it is good that the pipework and filter media is included however, I've got a large tank set into a corner cabinet and had to raise the filter to make the pipework long enough to go into the tank! The filter has now been working for several week and I am pleased with its performance as the water is nice and clean/clear. I was very impressed with the service I received from Petathome, I ordered the filter online on the Monday and was able to pick it up from the store on the Tuesday, during these difficult Covid19 times I thought that was excellent service. The price I paid was very competitive too!
I purchased this filter as a replacement for one that hung on the back of my 30 gallon freshwater tank. A quiet filter was most important to me because the tank is set up in my home office. The filter was easy to set up. My one frustration was that the tubing is pretty stiff and I managed to break one of the pieces that holds the tube over the edge of the tank. I was able to complete the set up anyway. The water is clear and my fish are active. The filter is virtually silent. I hear only a slight hum. I like the Fluval website and documentation. Overall it's been a great choice for me and my fish.
I wasted a lot of time on this. The instructions are unclear and the diagrams are tiny. It took nearly a full day to set up my tank, fill it with water, etc. and I hook this up, prime the pump, and water just comes gushing out of the canister's sealed lid. 1/3 of the tank drained into my apartment's carpet. I read other reviews that mention the same problem and took them with a grain of salt, but apparently they were right. Fluval was unhelpful, the warranty means nothing, and my purchase date fell a few days outside of Petco's return window, so now I am stuck with an expensive hunk of plastic and a deep mistrust of this manufacturer.
I really struggled to achieve and maintain good water clarity, despite having all of my chemical parameters within acceptable ranges. It occurred to me that the cheap side-mounted filter that was included with my tank might be to blame. Within an hour of getting this Fluval 107 installed and running, my water was crystal clear and had remained so. You’ll want to pick up some bio-rings when you buy your filter, as I found out that they are not included. You’ll probably also want a flow spreader if you’re running a smaller tank like me (20 gallons).
