Great value for money classic film, with overall good performance in various situations. Real all rounder. Delivers good performance no matter what the environment. Of course it isn’t up to par with more expensive film that is tailored to specific situation, but that isn’t its purpose. When you don’t know what you’re going to shoot or just going for a family vacation - this is your choice.

I am learning how to use a camera for the first time and so these have been my go to and they have no disappointed as a newbie! I went to a concert where at the time I hadn't learned that I should be using flash most of the time, but the color and light still popped out pretty well for evening pictures I took at the concert! Nice to use as you're starting out.

Fuji's "new" C200

A very good basic colour film. In decent light, it gives good natural colours, little grain, and reasonable exposure latitude. My tip/thoughts are this: How many colour film manufacturers do you know in the USA? I only know one. This " new" "Fuji" is made in the USA - I suspect it's Kodak Color Plus, or a VERY similar emulsion, in another box, so if I fancy a reel I buy whichever is on the best deal. I can't see any difference between the two! Both are good, If I had to stick with one color box, in this case, it would be green!! Try a roll without fear - it's good stuff!

Good price, quick shipping, actually Kodak

5 stars because this is the best deal for color 35mm film.Be aware, though: This is not Fuji C200. Fuji quit making all their 35mm print film; hopefully, they'll eventually start again. This is almost definitely rebranded Kodak Gold 200, which has blockier %26 more orange/red biased tones than real Fuji C200, which rendered brilliant emerald greens and silvery blues. This is not actually that film even though they're using the old photo, so shoot accordingly.

Make sure to overexpose it
2 April 2019

As long as you overexpose this film by at least a half or whole stop, and meter for the shadows, it's pretty nice for outdoor photos. Beware that underexposed shadows will all be the usual splotchy green mess that you get from any cheap Fuji film. But, hey, it *is* cheap - or, should I say, inexpensive. And, really, it's a good deal. The thing I love THE MOST about this film: it is immediately obvious that the photos were shot on film. Sure, Portra 160 is a finer fancier choice for warm accurate colors, but Portra is so good you don't get as much of the natural quirkiness of the retro film look. Fuji, however - any random person off the street will immediately know you're shooting real film when they see Fujifilm 200 shots like these. Digital cameras just don't do this kind of stuff with light and color. I think it's special. Just, be aware of what you're going to get, and use it in situations where you want to overexpose and get colors that are saturated in interesting idiosyncratic ways. And, be careful if you're shooting portraits and make sure the light and exposure are absolutely perfect. Shadows are your nemesis with cheap Fujifilm. Or plan on having purposefully cold portraits, that could be neat if you know what you're making when you make it.

[Rewarded Review] Fuji Gold 200!
22 December 2023

It's no secret that this film is just repackaged Kodak Gold 200. I'm fine with that, especially since this is usually cheaper and more available than Kodak Gold branded film. I like the more subtle saturation, the contrast, the grain, and the tones of this film better than Fuji 400. Pretty much everything about this film is better than Fuji 400 (Kodak UltraMax) which I found to be an oversaturated, contrasty film with messy grain. But Fuji Gold, as I call it, is a pretty good film. It's a nice alternative to the more pricey Portra line.

Fuji is as sharp as Kodak guys :) and at what now seems to be fraction of the price for a parallel colormax. It sits right between ultra (fancier kodak) and color max, so if you don’t wanna spend the extra bucks I highly recommend. Keep in mind that as always, Fuji’s are a bit greener (not grainier) than Kodak.

[Rewarded Review] Good price and fast shipping

B&H has the best price for film on the internet. Fuji 200 is good for testing out new cameras or playing around with double exposures. Don't have to worry too much about messing anything up since its cheap, and its also pretty forgiving about under/over exposure so you can play with exposure bracketing to get a good feel for your camera and meter.

[Rewarded Review] Nice midium speed film
14 July 2024

Fuji ASA 200 film does not disappoint. It is a film I highly recommend for both beginners and more experienced photographers. This 35mm film is also great for use in compact cameras. Being of intermediate speed, it performs well in various lighting situations. Of course, we all know that if we want much finer grain and have favorable lighting conditions, we would use ASA 100. And if we have lower light conditions, we would need ASA 400. Ultimately, getting three rolls at this price is a very good deal.

[Rewarded Review] Warm, great greens and browns
15 April 2024

Is this film just Kodak Gold 200? Maybe. But I’d also be surprised if Kodak Alaris (who owns the right to distribute Gold 200?) would let Fujifilm contract Kodak to produce the exact same formula. But for all intents and purposes, it feels Gold-ish. It seems perfect exposed right at 200, but opening up half a stop for shadows looks great too. Greens and browns look great, and the color balance is like warm sunlight. Contrast is lower than Ektar 100, another slow film. It does not look right if you color correct Fuji 200 scans to be too neutral or cold. It gets weirdly blue/cyan. Also the film is really sharp, but I haven’t done a side by side test with Gold 200 so perhaps that’s a 200 speed benefit in itself. All in all, an excellent film for the price.
