The Fujifilm X-E4 is a lightweight rangefinder-styled camera embodying a all-round blend of stills and video features. Sharing the same 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 APS-C sensor and X-Processor 4 from the flagship X Series, the X-E4 offers rich color rendering, wide dynamic range, and an impressive sensitivity range for working in difficult lighting conditions. In terms of speed, DCI/UHD 4K as well as slow-motion Full HD recording is supported and, for stills, fast continuous shooting up to 8 fps is possible. Additionally, the sensor's design also houses a hybrid autofocus system that combines 425 phase-detection points with a contrast-detection system for quick and accurate AF performance. Included with Fujifilm MHG-XE4 grip and TR-XE4 thumb rest kit optimizing the ergonomics and comfort while shooting.

I know everyone raves about the SOOC jpegs and the film simulations and recipes, but after testing quite a few out, its just not for me. I love shooting RAW and adding the simulation in post. Personal preference.Great camera for what it is, highly reccomend.

Awful interface, selling it at a huge loss after six weeks.

On the block it goes. This is the 2nd time I've been burned with a purchase here --after a hundred pleasant transactions since more than three decades ago. I would have returned it as soon as I handled it but being unable to do at the seller's cost --international shipping is not reinbursed- and losing a 35% import duties (non-reimbursable unless you are a corporation) I guess this will be my very lastl purchase here unless B&H goes truly global like the Az guys. Pity, it was pleasant doing business here for many years but there are better options now.

Great stills camera but video record time is extremely limited
26 June 2022

This is Fujifilm #6 for me.I shoot with the f/2 WR primes and the image is remarkable. Stunning. Two star reduction because in will not reliably record video for any length of time. I do fully understand the time limitations are in place to prevent over heating. The thing is, it never gets anywhere near the limit. I can not use it for paid work because of this failure. This compared to my little old Panasonic GX85 that routinely and reliably records 4K video clips (with stabilization) until the battery dies. In my testing it reached 120 minutes. If Panasonic can accomplish this (several years ago) why can't Fujifilm?

I got X-E4 as a B cam, now using it more than my X-T3
20 December 2021

As an X-T3 owner I got the X-E4 as a second camera and I couldn't be happier (WR would have been nice) but like the title says, I find myself grabbing the X-E4 over the X-T3 more and more. When I started shopping for a second camera I was torn between the X-E4, X-T30, and X-S10. For me it really came down to the most compact and lightweight option, so I went with the X-E4. The slim design (no grip and no view finder bump) has been fantastic, with just the body cap and no lens the E4 can just pop into my camera bag next to the T3 like a battery charger. One of concerns I had was the lack of buttons/dials but to be honest the controls are extremely intuitive and I was able to translate my most common T3 functions to the swipes and quick menu. I did miss the rear command dial for a while but its been easy to live without it. As silly as it sounds, I find myself fiddling with settings less and shooting more, just AV and click. The other thing I was worried about was lens sizes. I figured the E4 could run my smaller f2s, and they are great, but I've also been using larger primes along with the 18-55mm kit without any grip or thumb rest. I typically shoot two handed, but even single handed, the larger 300-400g lenses feel comfortable and easy to manage. To be fair the X-E4 does look a bit odd when it has a lens bigger than the camera itself but it works and it's light. The one thing I truly find myself wanting from my T3 is the ability to tilt the screen in portrait orientation. I understand it's a trade-off for the selfie option and the awesome recessed screen but I do miss that for low shots.Over all the X-E4 has a great light weight feel and it's a wonderful experience to use.

It is what it is; it's not what it's not.
12 January 2022

As an X-T4 owner upgrading from my second-camera X-E3, and also having used the X-S10, the X-E4 is familiar, but novel. It has no grip contours for fingers nor thumb, but I was wanting an X-E model with a slimmer form, which I can fill-out with accessory grips if I ever feel the need (third-party being the way to go, for a fraction of Fuji's prices). No focus-mode switch on the front, but I almost always use manual focus with back-button activation anyway, and also tend to accidentally move that switch. No rear dial, but I personally don't miss it. The joystick is smaller, and the push-travel of the buttons is weird, but they work as they should. The X-E series has been evolving, and I've used each model since the X-E1, so I find this generation interesting. The X-E series has been evolving, and I've used each model since the X-E1, so I find this generation interesting. I had always wished that the X-E cameras had a tilting LCD screen - which is what had prompted me to go for the X-E4.Complaints? My only one has to do with the assembly of the tilting screen, which leaves the circuit ribbon amply, vulnerably exposed. So I'll try to be careful with it. (It is made as it is so that it can flip up 180 degrees to face forward, which I don't partake in.)My decision to get the X-E4 was based on a lot of research, which included YouTube videos. I've found that some reviewers hadn't known the X-E4 very well. For example, one complained that the eye sensor only switched the LCD image to flip upside-down, when there are four variable menu controls for one to set it. Another had to do with the custom settings, which now permit saving almost all of the parameters of the camera to a memory slot - which to me is useful. And, of course, a lot whinged about the X-E4's having no weather-sealing, no IBIS, no second card slot, and anything else that no X-E camera has ever had, which is why it's an X-E, not an X-T, X-H, nor X-Pro. Like spoiled brats complaining that their new toys aren't as nice as the ones their friends got. I myself feel guilty for being able to own this stuff at all. My X-E4 is largely for using for my job as a product photographer, which is located right by an overpass where people live in their trash-pile encampments, so I'm happy to be able to own it.

It's a great buy
5 September 2022

I've owned the xt4 2x , xt3 2x , xt2 2x , xe3 and the x100v 2x , I don't shoot Fuji professionally as I have an a7iv and few lenses . I bought the xe4 as an everyday camera . I carry it in a peak design 3l and it's perfect . The images that come out of this camera I don't edit at all and I love them. The film sims are as well as the bw. I was worried about the fact that it doesn't have a grip but it's really not a problem . Battery life is good and af is good enough . It also looks nice which is important to me . 100% recommend.

Lovely little camera
26 March 2022

Really great camera in terms of image quality, and joy of shooting. Because it's small, I'm a lot more likely to bring it with me, and I don't feel weird using it in more social contexts like I did with my A7 II. I'm still getting to know it, but I have very few qualms with it, and lots of praises. Some people might wish it had more command dials, but I find it's perfect for my style of shooting, using the front dial for aperture priority mosts, and you just push it in to switch to shutter priority. I've been really happy with the amount of detail in the shadows and highlights, even just with the jpgs, and the photo styles built in really cut down on the editing I do which for me is a huge feature! Awesome little camera. Fuji film simulations are a blast to shoot with. Checkout the FujiXWeekly app for all sorts of film recipes! I really like that I can change lenses with this camera. I went with the 35mm f1.4 and the 18mm f2 lenses and I am very happy with my range I can work with. The autofocus is way faster than I expected still not the r5 but really good. I love this little camera!

X-E4 Body Silver
3 October 2021

iReceived recently & spent time setting the camera up for my use. Was fairly easy to do as I have an X-T3 which was a pain to set up as it was my first Fuji. A lot of discerning issues raised by the Fuji crowd on Preview .com didn't really affect me. Yes, the EVF is smaller than the X-T3 (apples vs oranges) but I shoot without my glasses on & adjusted the diopter accordingly . You have to physically close/lock the battery/card door which was a big gripe for many. Shouldn't have to do that on a camera today in that price range. Not a big deal for me.No hand grip another complaint, but I use a Peak wrist strap which works as advertised, but once again was dissed by the Fuji crowd on Preview. I may adda JJC grip later. Camera s comfortable in my hand, easy to use.Only tested today with a Fuji 18-55, but also have a Fuji 70-300 (thanks Broadway) and a 35 mm f2 prime. May add a 23 mm f2 for travel. The X-t3 may be sold if it becomes a dust collector. Having a minor learning issue with the Custom settings feature which I never used on the X-T3. I'm happy with my purchase & that's the part that matters most. I have managed to work around the lack of buttons to customize the camera settings as previous cameras had, but still seems to be an issue with many. Pic is of the Cdn Coast Guard Icebreaker Griffon out of Prescott Ontario where I worked for 3 years as the helicopter AME.
