This is a very convenient free-standing hose reel for mid-garden locations where there is no available wall mounting. It is relatively easy to install on a lawn area, taking only about 40 minutes in total, from unboxing to first use.
A real quality product that is a massive improvement on a conventional manual hose reel. The ground spike is really effective (in Welsh clay and slate) and provides a solid mounting. We ran a hose to the reel under ground and put the reel in the middle of our veg patch - all very free of clutter and trip hazards.
I really want this to last. I love the feel and utility of the product so far. The hose itself is so much lighter than the garden hose I was using. It’s a joy to use at this point! It took me a few tries to know the right pressure to use to get the hose caddy to auto retract. My only concern is about the life expectancy of the auto retracting internal mechanism.That’s the only thing that is keeping me from ordering a second unit for the back yard.I really want this to work.
Well made and very simple to operate around the garden.
Main unit is solid and unrolls and retracts well, but the connecting hose to the tap is only 1.5m long so it will not stretch across a patio or even a path to the ground where the spike can be put in.Unless you are mounting it very close to the tap, you need an additional hose.
