Had the watch for approximately one week. It took that long to set it up. The manual is 58 pages long. The watch has so many fantastic options, it takes a lot to fine-tuning get what you want. The various menus and how do you get to them is somewhat complicated, but once you get used to it, works really well. You can increase the brightness of the back light, but you need to turn on the back light to really see the watch face if the watch is in any type of low light/shadow conditions. My old Garmin Fenix was much easier to see in lower lighting. Also, the watch tends to drift over towards the outside of the wrist once strapped on, which makes it more difficult to see while riding a bike without turning the wrist over quite a bit. Also, battery management adjustments will disconnect your phone without telling you and when that happens your customers faces disappear as well. Took me quite a while to figure that out, since it was not mentioned in the manual. All in all, I am quite happy.

I have a Vivoactive3 and decided to upgrade to the Fenix6. No regrets as this watch is far more durable, better built and more functions. I prefer not having the touch screen due to inadvertent changes to watch screen. Golf functions are far superior but does take time to learn and use. Battery life is excellent lasting 14 days in normal watch use mode. You do need to download map function using Garmin Express. It takes a while but its essential.

The watch is slightly lighter and smaller overall but has a slightly bigger screen and a bit more resolution. Note : All garmin gps and smart fitness watched need a chest strap for the Heart rate to be accurate. Perhaps Rebel could consider recommending that the chest strap be purchased at the same time. This is only important if you used the HR function for you fitness activity and need it to be accurate ( which I do). The GPS function is outstanding for fitness route tracking.

Garmin Pay, onboard music, updated HR sensor, and Pulse OX just to name a few of the most important improvements. It's thinner with a bigger screen and that makes a huge difference for me. I also chose to go with the non-sapphire version for this one and I appreciate the improved readability that it gives the watch. If the Gorilla Glass scratches it'll be my fault, but to me it's worth it to have a watch that's easier to read at an angle and in low lighting. The HR sensor is far more accurate than the last version and is pretty comparable in terms of average HR when going against my chest HR strap. Being able to have music on the watch is great for tubing down a river or other times when you don't want to have your phone with you but still want music (running being the obvious example). Garmin Pay is still a little harder to use where I live because only about 1 in 10 stores actually has an NFC reader to use it with. Hopefully over time the USA will catch up with other parts of the world where it's more common. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, but only time will tell on the durability of the easier to read Gorilla Glass screen. One thing to note - while Garmin has their own proprietary connection for watch bands, on the Fenix 6 Pro it's way easier to take out the bar that holds the watch band to the watch (previously you had to unscrew it, now it's just spring loaded and much easier to remove without tools). This means that I've been able to buy standard 22mm quick release bands that are way cheaper than the quickfit bands sold by Garmin and also opens up way more color options since the quick release is used for standard watch bands as well. I've been using the quick release bands and haven't had any issues with them being loose or anything else. While the quickfit does feel very secure, I feel comfortable using the quick release bands instead.
While the watch is nice to look at, has a good weight, band is tougher and stays in place better than the instinct and all buttons work as they should.ONLY 2 STARS BECAUSE SLEEP DOES NOT WORK!This is not a fluke, you can read in the GARMIN Forums that many FENIX 6 watches if not all do not have working sleep function. You can download a sleep app that will monitor your sleep but this expensive watch will not track your sleep without installing an additional app.Otherwise the watch works very well and battery life depending on your settings is very good!I did not buy the watch from BB because Outside was selling for a great price.
This watch looks great and feels super solid. I upgraded from the forerunner 735xt to this specific watch for a few reasons: multisport, pulse ox, and body battery / sleep tracking. I was also trying to replace my whoop strap with this watch since it should be capable of providing most of the same data. The disappointing part; I find that my HR stats are missing for hours at a time.. everyday, hasn’t tracked sleep since the first two days worn. I’ve tried troubleshooting, restarting, turning on and off HR tracking, connecting and disconnecting chest HR strap. So at this point my favorite feature is the battery life. Then the out front bike mount attachment. Works well when tracking exercise.

Some of the buttons are in different positions and some of the menus are arranged differently, so it took a little getting used to. Some of the features I like: 1. Much longer battery life. On watch mode, a single charge will last for 2 weeks instead of 2 or 3 days. Using GPS and other features during an activity, it will last for more than a day. So, it easily has enough battery capacity to last for a full Ironman. 2. Activity screens are very customizable. I like that I can choose to display 3 metrics (i.e. HR, pace, distance) and have the most important one (i.e. pace) be in the middle, larger than the other two. Easy to ... Unlike my 920xt, I can't quickly remove the watch from the band in T1 and snap it onto my bike and re-attach it to the band in T2. Because of the HR sensor on the back of the watch, it may not be possible to design one of these. There is an available bike mount. The straps are designed to be removed quickly and then you can click the watch into the mount. But, it is not something I would want to be doing in a triathlon transition.

I've been very pleased with the short GPS sync time and the accuracy of the mapping for my activities. Very happy with the battery life, it seems much longer than my 235. The menus seem slightly more intuitive than the 235. Notifications work great on this watch and I'm very pleased how they're implemented. I also like the automatic do-not-disturb feature that kicks in at night.The big negative to the Fenix 6 is the altimeter. It is rarely accurate even though it is supposed to automatically calibrate using the GPS location at the beginning of a run. I’ve mostly used it to track fitness activities and I am highly pleased with its performance and feedback given on the Garmin connect app. It does a much better job tracking sleep with ‘go to sleep’ times and ‘wake up’ times. Using it to track hiking activities doesn’t completely kill the battery. I currently have just about every function turned on and it still lasts 6 days on a charge. Getting text notifications and calendar reminders is a nice plus. (I think those features were on the Suunto 7 but weren’t used because it already had battery life issues) A ding is it’s a hassle ...
