Absolute genius, no mounting, battery or wiring. Because you can cast it out you can see what is in your casting area, rather than just what is under your kayak unlike a conventional fish finder. But here is the genius part, you can use it for bank fishing. What a game changer

Received the Striker fish finder a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to use it. I charged it at home, downloaded the app and took it out on the water for a few hours. The app and device worked well. Over an hour in the water and the battery hardly moved at all. I didn’t catch anything, but I saw fish.

Once you get your account fixed up and the unit charged. Everything is pretty basic, I used the unit today and was satisfied with the performance. As I play with it I’ll reevaluate my score.

I used my brand new striker cast twice in the summer, got it out for some ice fishing and it wouldn't work. Upon inspection there was a crack from the bottom, where sonar is, going up to where the white top meets the darker botton. There was water in the inside, probably why it didn't work. I have no idea why or how the crack got there? I was very careful to not drop it or bang it around. I'm 72 years old, and don't have any young kids around that would be playing with it??
I bought this for the local ponds (~10 acres). The sonar works great and paints a clear picture of where the fish are hanging out. I found two new spots the first time I used it and caught fish within the first two casts.I'm still trying to understand how to use the mapping tool correctly.
I towed this behind my canoe and was going too fast — it kept disconnecting. It did find fish and. Gave me an accurate view of the bottom. I feel as if it will be better used with a spinning rod when striper fishing later this year
Worked on first cast. Located fish, bottom, and weeds as expected.Did find a pesky problem on occasion. It would periodically go into a skipping mode where it seemed to skip a beat by giving me a blank return followed by a good return. I would fiddle around with the line by tugging and switching modes, but couldn’t seem to resolve the issue or identify what was causing it. Could be the gain or some other setting but not sure yet because it was my first day working it. Overall I am satisfied that it will locate fish for me, just not sure it will catch them for me yet. Will need to determine what is causing the skips before I give it a 5 star rating.
Super Easy to use, charges fast and has not gone dead yet and I have fished for 6+ hours. Starts up right after hitting the water and has a nice and simple readout that can be understood by novice or advanced sonar users. The pricepoint is great as well. I am casting from bank with a 6'9 Medium Fast with 20lb Braid. I WOULD RECOMMEND A Heavier action and Medium Heavy Rod, but it works well even on this lighter srtup.
Works great. Tells me good information on water temps and depth. Showed me good info on fish, allowing me to move on when the area is empty while bank fishing. Super easy to setup and battery is great. When we bank fish I throw it out using the clip that comes with it on an old saltwater heavy rod, on about 40lb braid. Never had an issue with casting. While we were on the bass boat I tied it to one of the back cleats using the tether that comes with. I forgot about it and we took off and moved about a mile or two down river. When I got back up to fish it was stilll there, so I have full confidence with a good knot you do not have to worry about it coming loose.App works great, gives you access to Garmin maps and the ability to download other folks charts if they ... MoreWorks great. Bring a charger for your phone, as it will drain your battery with continuous use. I increased the speed of the readout as I am impatient sometimes, but it seems to work fine.
Took it out on a local lake with my inflatable boat. It tells you depth, temperature and showed fish that we were able to catch (some Burbot). Way cheaper and way more portable than any other fish finder with a screen since you are already carrying your phone for the screen. I plan to use it for ice fishing too, can't wait.
