Assembly team at home depot is horrible. There are so many things wrong with the "fully assembled" grill. Some minor issues include poorly removed protective plastic and bubble wrap. Some medium issues include multiple missing screws and unattached panels. Some major issues include ignition box and scale sensor not attached. Some of these issues I found within seconds of getting the grill, which makes it really hard to believe how these issues were overlooked. Other problems I keep finding as the days go by. I would never order a grill from home depot again and I would especially never use the home depot assembly team, as they are incompetent and there are no quality checks. The one thing i do not like is the placement of the LP tank underneath inside the the bottom of the grill as it is very difficult to hang the tank on the holder with the doors. It’s especially hard for me as I have to hook it up and unhook it each time i use it because I store all my grills and smokers in my man cave and store the LP tanks outside in a shed. Other than that this grill is both a beast and a beauty. I look forward to many, many wonderful grills because it’s a Weber!

Love the grill!

Excellent grill and what an upgrade from my previous setup. I’ve now been able to control my heat how I want and have produced great burgers, steaks, and chicken breast. Unfortunately some things are a little clunky. The grill is powered in order to run the smart thermostat, but that same power does not run the igniter, nor the lights in the handle so I’ll have to also keep batteries on hand which was just a little unfortunate. One power source would have been ideal. The lowest setting on the side burner is still pretty high. We toasted buns in some butter and I had to redo a batch because the butter burnt immediately. Lastly I’ve had some issues with the construction quality. A bolt that holds the side shelf on popped out when I went to move the grill. Poor experience with service and weber as a whole
27 August 2024

Very disappointed, I noticed the actual grill box was damaged. It looked like it had warped. I brought pictures into the store we purchased it from and was told they had never seen anything like it. I have had Weber Grills for years and customer service told us we had a high heat event. The grill would have had to have been on Fire for an extended period of time to warp the Cast Iron. In order to get the drip pan out I had to bend it because the fire box was warped. I also had to bend in the back panel. The display also was not working. With all of the problems and money we spent I would have figured we would get a replacement. The grill was just a year old. It would have been great to get a credit for the grill and then purchase another weber. I even was willing to purchase a lower model and return the one that was defective.

Pretty good so far - SPX-435
10 June 2024

I purchased the SPX-435 a couple months ago after doing extensive research. During the past couple months we've used the grill to prepare around 10 entrees / meals. Generally, it's performed very well and we mostly like the features. Some minor things on the wish list for Weber Genesis grills, especially this high end model. A lithium ion battery pack should be included for powering the LED knobs and smart grill display. The drip pan should be a little deeper to hold more. Wish the parts on the bast of the grill (cabinet, etc.) had a better coating to resist corrosion. I can tell that the base / cabinet will wear out on this grill well before the firebox. If those enhancements were made, this grill would be worth every penny of the price. Also, we purchased the full ... MoreI purchased the SPX-435 a couple months ago after doing extensive research. Also, we purchased the full griddle top for this grill. After seasoning it a few extra times (seasoned once by Weber out of the box), it's performed well. I wish you didn't have to remove the grilling grates to utilize the griddle.

Recommendation with smaller downturnes

The most important part: the grill brings a lot of “grilling fun” and I like the overall quality which means –overall- a recommendation to buy.But - I also found some downturns from my personal perspective.History:I had a Weber Genesis silver B gas grill for about 20 years and was extremely satisfied although even this grill did cost its price long ago. After 18 years I opened the first time the gas pipes and found ... nothing, no issue at all. All perfect. The only thing I did is to replace the ignition unit one time and the flavor bars two times, which is normal for the time I used it.After moving and not taking our old grill with us I first bought a grill for 399 USD. After one year it stood at the street to be taken by someone else. It did not provide the “grilling fun” at all I was used to before. So this time we bought the SPX-435 Genesis. And I can pretty good compare this new one with the “old” one, i.e. the previous silver B Weber grill. What I like more- The grill space - more than enough for "normal" usage and about 1/3 more than with the old one.- The extended grill space to be folded if not used. Better than the old grill which was too close to the main grilling area and too small. This one you can really use.- The grill griddles to be rearranged – more flexibility.- The 5 burners with the searing zone. This is very effective.- The additional burner on the left side works great for heating sauce or cook something in parallel.- The simple but very effective measure for showing the remaining gas in the gas bottle. More reliably than all other in-pipe measures I had.- The wheels are much better than with the old one. So you can more easily move the grill on halfway flat ground. However they could still be a bit larger - with the old grill I have replaced them with large air filled ones so I was able to move it even along grass to show up with the grill in the front of the garage. Some improvement left!- Building it up is not too complicated and normally should be easy to understand even if you are not building a house every day. Just the pictures could be a bit more brighter especially because almost all pieces shown are dark. Suggestion: hand it over to a Swedish furniture provider and let them rework the pictures and details!- The large preparation space on the right hand side.- The lights in the handle.- Switch on the light of the buttons via the app ….. a nice gag …- The Weber connect app in general. What I do not like that much:- Yes, it has a display for the temperature. However one simple, analog thermometer in the opening lid in addition would not have been bad. Just in case the display is not on or hard to read due to the sun. 10 USD which would be nice if it would be built in.- I could connect it to a normal power outlet. However and because I do not want to have all the cables in the patio (and there is no outlet directly at the grill) I prefer to be independent and use a 5V power bar, which is more than sufficient for the power consumption. But after a while the display seems to switch off and also disconnects from the Wifi net at the same time, which is not convenient. And I have not found whether there is a configuration to influence it. You lose the temperature control on the mobile app and have to switch the display on again manually.- It only uses 2.4 GHz. All other devices in our house use 5 GHz. So I had to turn on the additional WiFi network just for the grill. That would not be needed today.- With my old grill I lit the first burner (with the ignition as today). Once I turned the second on the fire from the first burner automatically lighted also the next one and the same with the third one – pretty easy and very secure. With the new grill I have to ignite again each time a burner is turned on. Not a big problem but not that convenient as before and not as safe! (Or did I do anything wrong?)- I am missing on the website a function to just show all available accessories for this specific grill type. Either I did not find it or Weber does not want to make it easy for me to spend more money? Actually this is an advantage …- I have not found a longer inner fork for my existing motor for the rotisserie because the new grill is broader. Is that available or do I have to buy the whole device?- My old grill had an open space with metal griddles on the bottom instead of the doors. YES, this does not look that ”clean” as a cabinet. BUT if you have a hot but empty griddle (or alike) you want to take from the grill it was very easy to just place it down there and wait until it is cool. I am missing such an easy to reach place with the new grill. Yes, you could use the right preparation zone with some heat protection on it. Fair enough this is a problem not only of this grill if you have doors in front. And it can be solved by e.g. an add-on table. Anyway, the old one was easier to handle.- It looks to me that my mobile phone connects to the grill only via Bluetooth although the grill itself is connected to the WiFi net. So I cannot leave the grill too far behind although my WiFi would be available in and around the whole house – not the Bluetooth of my grill however. Or did I not find the correct configuration? And if so we see that the description or help regarding the configuration is not sufficient.- To the left and the right of the extended grill griddle the sides should be a little bit higher and not almost even with it. Why? If you have a pan or similar on it and want to re-order the content a bit it is very likely that you will move the pan sideward and over the borders at the side so you get in trouble to not move them too far and get them back. Sides ½ inch higher and it would be good.- Finally I bought the rotisserie set 7653.o Biggest issue: the fork is so long that, even if you take off the extensions you cannot open the lid of the side burner during it is in use. Whose concept is this? Please shorten it and send me a new fork once conceptually solved differently. Thanks!o The cable leaves the motor towards the front. Why not the back? In the front we have the preparation area. Not meaningful to have a cable here.o The grill should provide some dedicated space to especially store the fork.o Inserting the fork into the motor lifts the latter by ½ inch. It still has enough grip inside of the holder but why not having the holes for the screws a bit higher?Overall: a grill I can recommend, but some details could have been made a bit better – with only a few thoughts.

The next day I tested it by grilling a sirloin steak for my wife me. I had purchased the Weber grill grate separately which I also love. After I prepped the steak I turned the grill on high and in just a few minutes it was on 550 degrees I seared it and the WiFi probe I knew when to flip it and when it hit the degrees for medium rare. I took the steak off let it rest. The outside was crisp fat and when I cut it open it was so tender and flavorful. Yeah that makes up for the LP tank!

Go wild outside with your recipies. This is my first grill with the sear burner. It has a digital reading for temp displayed. If all of the burners are going, it gets to the mid-600's, which will put a crust on anything. The nice part is that after you brush the grates, the drawer underneath slides out and once it's cooled down a bit, you can use the scraper to get everything into the disposable tray, When you run it hot the next time, you wont have a grease fire inside. If you want to bless someone with the GRILL OF THEIR DREAMS, This is THE ONE. Get the accessories for the Weber Craft so they will be able to show what it can do.

You get what you pay for and this is a great grill

This is a fantastic grill! I have had Weber before and this one is fabulous. All the little extras are very useful and the propane tank scale is great, the only way to indicate how much propane you have left. I love being able to store accessories in an organized manner. Being able to switch between accessories to do so many things on my grill has been made so easy, it is amazing all the things that are available to fit my grill and customize it to my liking. The electronics makes it a precise way to see temp. When putting together it was easy and straight forward. This grill is heavy because it is heavy duty and designed to last, which is also indicated by the awesome warranty. You get what you pay for and it only cost a little more to go first class. SPX-435
