To give the ghd Platinum + Styler a fair shot, I did my normal routine when I decide to flat iron my hair. Itās usually because I washed my hair the night before and was too tired to blow it out which happens. š I used a detangling spray on my damp hair after washing and let it air dry. The hair straighteners that Iāve used in the past took higher heat and more passes to get my hair straight which I know definitely causes major damage in my already vulnerable color treated hair. It took me about 25 mins to finish my entire head of hair when I normally take about 30-40 mins with other flat irons which was a very pleasant surprise. I have avery dry, frizzy hair, and am using argan oil to keep my hair at bay together with my old ghd but at wet humid weather it wasn't working. Platinum + does simply miracle! It has done me well the last 8 years, but I wanted to upgrade so I bought this straightener and it does not disappoint. I received these straighteners today and have just used them for the first time and OMG I love them!I donāt normally leave reviews for things but I felt these deserve a review.I had an original pair of GHDs (which Iāve had for 10 years) and I was beginning to feel like they werenāt leaving my hair as straight or smooth as they used to. I wasnāt sure if it was the straighteners or just my hair changing over the years. I wasnāt sure if it was the straighteners or just my hair changing over the years. Iād been thinking about replacing them but didnāt want to spend all that money, only to find the same thing still happening. Anyway, sadly, they stopped working last week, so I was forced to make the change. I have long, thick, wavey/frizzy hair, so I had been reading lots of reviews about the best straighteners for my hair type and these kept popping up. This was more than I wanted to spend but I thought, just do it. I am not disappointed. I think this is the straightest and the smoothest my hair has ever been. I would definitely recommend these. I was concerned about a few comments Iād read about people saying that their hair was catching on the plastic edges at the side of the plates but that didnāt happen once, the were so smooth and just glide through my hair. If youāre looking to treat yourself, buy these straighteners!
