We were lucky enough to have received some Global knives when we got married in 2013. After almost a year of daily use, the blades were still sharp, but not as sharp as they once were. After some research looking at recommendations of whet stones, I decided to purchase this.Problem with whetstones is that you need to hold the knife at a 1015 degree angle which Im sure is really difficult to maintain. If you dont sharpen at that angle, you are more than likely going to damage the blade, which when you consider that you wont be sharpening the knives that often when you consider how much Global knives cost, not something you want to do.The Global knives website recommends the Minosharp for home use.Simply pop open the plastic casing, fill the container with water pop ... MoreWe were lucky enough to have received some Global knives when we got married in 2013. Have a draw full of knife sharpeners I don’t use all claiming to be the best.So bought this with some reservations, the water tank impressed me as an innovation though difficult to open and close. My knives do seem a bit sharper now but still not able to slice through a sheet of A4 easy as the guy in the video but I assume his knife was sharper than mine before he started.I like the design concept but I think it’s a bit over priced.

Fantastic. Sharpens to professional standards.

I am really surprised at how fantastic this sharpener is. I'm a chef by trade and I have tried many sharpeners over the years but not one is as good as this one. It saves me a lot of time but not having to use a stone. The sharpener is small enough to fit in my knife case too. After sharpening my favourite knife, which was quick and easy, the results were so good that I sharpened the rest of them.I'm so chuffed with this product.

Global Sharpener is simple to use and works well.

This knife sharpener's clever design lets inexperienced people sharpen their knives very well. Other knife sharpeners are excellent but require skill and practice to use correctly, but this one is easy to use. This sharpener is designed for the extremely hard edges of a Global knife. Global knives are edge hardened to around 60HRc which is very hard and makes using a normal steel straightener time consuming. Global knives really need sharpening stones to maintain their edges. I am very good at sharpening knives but others in the house are not, so I bought this for them to be able to maintain a great edge on all our knives when I am not around to sharpen them. This sharpener has coarse and medium grit stones so I finish my knives with a fine ceramic "steel" rod to get that really sharp finish. There is another model with 3 stones which may be better if you don't already have a fine ceramic "steel". This 2 stone model will do a good job without any further edge finishing if you are not as fussy as I am. I recommend this for any Global knife owner as it is easy and fast to use and will keep your knives in top condition.

Fantastic knife. Ive worked in the kitchen for many years and this purchase has blown my mind. Very sharp and very good quality, does nt need constant sharpening as it maintains its quality in everyday use. For the price you are getting a wonderful knife that other retailers would charge a lot more for. This knife can be used for everything from veg to meats to cheese. Highly recommend this knife for all users. You wont be disappointed

Wow. What a knife. The best I have ever bought. Slices like butter. This was purchased as a present for my Son who loves looking and he was overwhelmed by this product and now cant stop cooking my meals for me. Really good value for a knife with a 25 year guarantee. Excellent service from their Staff and I would definitely purchase more products from Pro Cook.

Was after a new multi purpose knife as were doing a lot of cooking at the moment. This fits the bill perfectly I tried the smaller 5 knife but found the heft of this knife much better for larger vegetables like potatoes. Also really good for doing fine work on tomatoes etc without bursting them. Use it on n uncooked chicken and found it sliced through very easily. Just be careful as I almost had my thumb off too The fact that the blade is flatter rather than curved makes it far more useful in my opinion. 25 year guarantee in to boot, whats not to like Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Pro tip: remember that you have just sharpened your knives!
22 February 2023

Global Minosharp Ceramic Sharpener worked a treat on some rather blunt knives in my knife block. So easy to use and simple to clean. Having two sets of grinding discs makes for a good finish, and the instructions are clear. But the trick is, a few days later you must *remember* that you have just sharpened your knives back to a great, razor sharp, edge. That and Elastoplast. Don't forget Elastoplast.

Worst product ever from JL. Does not even sharpen knives
5 August 2021

I was expecting a product that could sharpen all of my knives as according to the customer reviews. I thought that by paying the extra I would get an exceptional product.Even after repeating the sharpening across the two stones, the knives are still sharp. I have to use a sharpening steel to finish them off. Some of my knives do not even fit in.Some of my knives even feel more dull.Save your money and buy a different product.
