Haier HRF520FS 514L French Door Fridge

Overall a great refrigerator, popular brand and very affordable for the french door type. Purchased this in 2020 and haven't had any problems with it. It has so much space with plenty of shelving and bonus drawers for vegetables and canned soft drinks, yoghurts, etc. Even the freezer drawers are quite spacious. Foods and drinks are accessible and organising is a breeze. It is also very easy to clean. Water dispenser is a bonus as plumbing is not needed. Delivery was also prompt and on time as agreed with the driver. I currently cannot fault this product or the service from Heathcotes. Recommended. :)

A good medium price ranged fridge

We chose this fridge for its size which fits perfectly in our apartment kitchen fridge cavity. It works well, as expected. The non-plumbed water dispenser is a bonus because one needs only add the water in the compartment on the inside of the door. No hose needed nor plumbing services required prior to use. Expect some little sounds or noises the first few days as the fridge seem to 'adjust' itself once power is turned on. All in all, a good product and we're pretty pleased with it.

A great addition to our small kitchen

This appliance has really made a big difference to our daily lives.It suits a galley style kitchen because the doors do not block the thoroughfare and promote better circulation in the kitchen area.The build quality seems good although we have not had the appliance for long.Internally the fridge is good with plenty of space and good drawers, shelves and indoor storage.The water dispenser takes up very little space. Haier is the worst brand ever

Haier apparently now own fisher and Paykel too which is a huge shame since they are known for being a decent brand. This fridge has caused us nothing but problems. We have actually had 2 of these sent now, the first one we had constant issues, the compressor broke, then it wouldn't cool, stopped working completely. So they replaced it with a new one. Same issue again and now it's tripping the electric. Reason is because the wiring is behind the actual door where the bend is, so each time the door opens and closes it's bending the wires eventually causing them to tear. Technician came out, said it needs a new door. Ordered the door, came back, wrong door. LOVE this Fridge

I was a bit apprehensive about buying this fridge because it was quite a bit cheaper than the others I was considering (LG french door or LG bottom mount) I had an LG bottom mount for about 10 years and loved it. I read reviews on a few sites and decided to go with my gut. I'm so glad I did.The Haier French Door is just as good as my previous LG but with better freezer storage. I read some reviews about the quality not being as good as some other brands but I haven't found that to be the case. My only negative would be the MyZone section in the bottom of the fridge cannot be set to it's own temp. It has pre-set temps for seafood, meat or drinks. I have tried each of the settings and some things on one side of that drawer become partly frozen. Very, very efficient, even to the point of advising me not to put the fridge magnets on the door as they may interfere with the electronics in the door. Makes good sense. Bravo Appliance Online!

Nice looking fridge and freezer

We purchased this fridge/freezer over two years ago. It looks great and we thought it would meet our needs. Unfortunately, the design and manufacture let us down. In the doors are wire harnesses and they are poorly designed as each time the doors are opened and closed the wires are flexing. The technician found that on the right-hand door the wires had broken which was causing our circuit breaker to keep tripping due to earthing. It was also discovered that the wires are of extremely inferior quality. The wires were wrapped in standard grey electrical insulation tape instead of professionally designed electrical sheathing in addition to being too tight a fit. When the left-hand door fails it will cost the same or more. We do not know if Haier will replace the harness at their cost or charge us for that too. We often open both doors simultaneously to gain access to the two drawers and items on the shelves and anticipate a failure very soon. To add insult to injury the replaced door branding was fitted crooked and looks awful. We had to go for a month without the fridge until repaired. It is likely we will not choose this manufacturer's products again knowing how short the time is before failure. We had expected a minimum of ten years operation without a failure.

Perfect size and design

Fridge compartment has plenty of space. The height between trays is perfect. Easy to reach the items. Freezer drawers are not the best. The plastic feels a bit cheaper. You can hear a continuous noise (like a fan noise) , but its not a big deal.There is a little bit of water gathering inside the fresh food cabin. Need to check the power consumption when o get the next energy bill. Very good product for the money.

Two major faults in 2 years - stay away

We bought this fridge in mid-November 2020. On 24 February 2022 it had a major fault and stopped working. It was two days before our home wedding so all of the food in the fridge spoiled. Fisher & Paykel thankfully repaired it on that occasion as it was under warranty. The motherboard has now broken - 2 years and three months after purchasing. This time, it is out of warranty and is going to cost in excess of $750 to repair for labour and parts. That doesn’t factor in all the food we have lost this time around. Our old fridge lasted 20 years so this has been a very disappointing and expensive purchase.

good for three years

i loved this fridge and purchased one in 2019 it failed exactly to the day at 3 years. took 13 weeks to get a replacement after waiting all that time for two lots of repairs that didn't work. The first time waited 5 weeks for parts even though no one had been to assess the problem. they weren't the ones needed. waited another 5 weeks for another part. guess what it wasn't right either. then another 3weeks to finally get a replacement. be interesting to see how this one goes after 3 years fridge worked excellently prior to failure. loved it.
