I was not able to use the lens as long as I would have like because something ended up happening to my X2D 100c camera. Lensrentals understood my situation and was able to take care of me for my next rental. Excellent customer service. However, the time that I did have with, it turned out to be a very beautiful experience. The lens is very sharp very and bright, and definitely can replace some of your primes. Yes, it is heavy, but it is expected. Overall I will rent again, and if I find a good deal on the used one I will get it.

A little too clinical for me.I can only compare to other Hasselblad zoom lenses. It lacks a bit on the bokeh end of things. Its extremely sharp, really perfect. As a portrait photographer however, the 3.5-4.5 aperture and lack of long end range just did not cut it.I returned for an XH 0.8 adapter and an orange dot 50-110 (41mm-90mm f2.8-3.5)Weight 600g more but a portrait monster.

Heavy but amazing performance. Perfect for travel if you have a comfortable camera strap to carry it around.

Loved this thing for a recent wedding shoot. The wide angle could definitely be wider but other than that, it rocks!
Normally zoom lenses do not have as much definition as prime lenses. However this lens is the big exception. It is the best lens I have ever owned in my 40 years as a photographer.
I recently took a trip and shot extensively with my Hasselblad 907x. It was terrific to have additional lens without the expense of purchasing them. I will rent lens again for future trips.Thank you Lensrentals.
Though I prefer doing landscape photography, I tend to use this more for portraiture and general use. It's easy to see these as something like a kit lens, but it excels in everything the kit lens does.Obviously, with it being the X1D, these lenses aren't the best for wildlife, sports, or anything with unpredictable movement because of the slow focus speed, but when in focus, everything is tack-sharp to the edges and reproduces the most accurate color I've seen in nearly any lens of its type. The focus by wire is great, but know that this means if you're doing it manually and in the dim light, it may be hard to tell if you've nailed it because you'd be relying on a digital viewfinder or a lcd screen on the back, which will create noise so that you can see what ... MoreThough I prefer doing landscape photography, I tend to use this more for portraiture and general use. In DSLRs, this wasn't a problem at all, having an optical viewfinder. The downside I have of this actually has to do with the lens hood. After months of use, it's still not easy to put on and takes a lot of fiddling around. If done incorrectly, you will actually see it in your composition. I've never once had a lens where I wondered if I needed to see a youtube tutorial over putting on the lens hood. This lens is the perfect one to help complete your range without spending thousands on primes and you're not a stickler for extreme bokeh.
Too narrow a zoom range & too heavy to justify lugging it around for its limited zoom range. A 30-90mm range would be ideal for me. No complaints with the image quality.
Wonderful, easy first experience with lensrentals. The lens itself was incredible. Seriously considering adding it to my permanent collection.
camera was great, but not for my useslens-- not sure, was not as sharp as my equivalent Nikon zoom
