Bladder stones form when mineral crystals bind together in the urinary tract. Left untreated, they can cause serious health issues for your pet. Unfortunately, you’ve got no way of knowing if your dog has bladder stones – until he begins to show symptoms such as blood in the urine, straining to urinate or increased frequency of urination. When it comes to urinary health, support and prevention is better than cure. Hill’s Urinary Care formula contains ingredients that specifically target urinary stones, dissolving pre-existing struvite stones and reducing the risk of new stones forming. This is achieved through low levels of magnesium and phosphorous, low salt and fat content, and the inclusion of antioxidants, potassium citrate and omega 3 fatty acids. Product details Dry-food formula for canine urinary health low magnesium, phosphorous, fat and salt help to reduce risk of stone formation high levels of antioxidants, potassium citrate and omega 3 fatty acids developed in consultation with nutritionists and veterinarians.

A couple of months ago I started noticing that my 10 years old Pomeranian was peeing a lot and more often than usual, so I decided to take him for a checkup. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with crystals in his pee, which could become kidney stones and/or lead to kidney failure. So, the veterinarian told me to switch his kibble to which would help dissolve the current crystals and prevent future issues. Long story short, he is now back to his normal self and as happy as ever! #furryfriends #influensterdog

When the vet says that Hills Prescription c/d is the only food that will stop your dog getting kidney stones, you tend to listen. The consequences are just too grave to fathom. Five years down the track, it seems that the vet was right and the dog does not seem to miss having other types of food. Thank you, Hills. If you could go back to manufacturing in Australia so dog owners don't see the recent dire product shortages, that would be even better.

My 3 year old Chocolate Lab has pH balancing problems so her vet(s) have recommended this specific dog food! She's been eating it since about January 2022. It smells GROSS 😂😂 but it has helped a lot. 4/5 stars for bad smell and because she now May 2022 her pH is off again and she's having a bladder infection with crystals. (Now adding medicine to her strict diet 🥺)

When my miniature schnauzer mix was about 1 year old she was diagnosed with food allergies and bladder stones. This food literally saved her life. She’s been eating this for about 8 years now and hasn’t had any bladder problems since. It’s pricey but helped my baby be healthy again so it’s worth it!

CD forever

My Bella has been on this food over 5 years now. One day she was peeing blood and I gathered a specimen and they found Struvite crystals in the sample. I was told she'll have to be on this food forever and ONLY this, no adding other dog foods. It's amazing how this food has worked on her infections, one time I didn't have the money for a bag and had to feed my other dogs food and the crystals came back within a few days. This food isn't cheap but absolutely worth every penny.

My Three Dogs Love This !
23 February 2018

I have 3 small dogs - 2 girls and 1 boy. Three weeks ago Frankie underwent surgery for bladder stones. Then two weeks ago Jill underwent surgery for bladder stones. And Jack had a cloudy urine sample and appeared to have bladder stones but he did not have them. When the first diagnosis of bladder stones occurred my Vet immediately recommended Hill's C/D Multicare, so I got the large bag. The girls loved it from the start, although Jack was a bit reluctant to eat it. I decided to buy the C/D Multicare Chicken and Vegetable stew to feed to them with the dry. The canned was an immediate success when added to the dry! And they all started to clean their bowls. Jack doesn't like large pieces of kibble so I whirl his a few seconds in a small food processor and he is ... MoreI have 3 small dogs - 2 girls and 1 boy. Jack doesn't like large pieces of kibble so I whirl his a few seconds in a small food processor and he is delighted with the slightly smaller kibble. I was concerned about having treats on hand as well and looked at the HIll's site and found recipes for homemade cookies and treats using the dry and canned varieties. I make the cookies with the dry kibble. It is an easy and quick recipe. My three give high paws for these and recommend you try them too. It will save you some money since you already have the food. Jack is a poodle mix who will be 7 in March; Jill is a terrier mix and is 5 1/2; Frankie is a poodle mix and is almost 5 1/2.

Product & price OK. Big problem with Delivery ++
12 September 2022

Product was not delivered to my house..... I had to knock on several neighbouring doors before I finally located it. A neighbour found it lying in the street in the pouring rain!!!!! The outside box was sopping wet and the inside packaging was split with its contents spilling out into the wet box.....useless.

This Food Definitely Works!
12 June 2021

I have an elderly miniature Boxer who was recently put on this diet by her vet. She's a picky eater abs I thought I was going to have to fight to get her to eat a new food. But she loves it! And I've noticed an improvement in her urinary habits when she's on the food. So it really does help. I know she's not going to be around much longer, but I'm going to do all I can to make her last years as comfortable as I can.

Worked on my 8 week old puppy
31 August 2019

My yellow lab puppy came to me with a bladder infection with struvite stones. Because this isn't made for puppies, my vet tried antibiotics alone which didn't work. So, then we tried a different antibiotic and changed to this food for ONLY one week, then she went back on her puppy food for one week. Then back on this C/D for a week. The struvite stones and the infection were gone in the middle of that 3rd week. I can see why this food is prescription only, because especially for puppies, they need to be so closely monitored by the vet during this process since there is no growth factor in this food for puppies. They need to be switched back and forth between this and puppy food until the stones are gone. I highly recommend this food for urinary stones.

Works great

Haven't gotten this yet from petco since they switched over from dr foster and smith. But the food itself works. My dog was constantly getting uti and crystals. Since moving back to Michigan, this vet recommended this food and less human food. My baby may not be happy that she doesn't get spoiled as much but has not had a uti since we switched and it has been about 3 years now. She would uti about every 2 to 3 months before. The price is higher than what we used to feed her, but cheaper than going to the vet that often and the meds she would have to take, plus cranberry supplements we also gave her to help try to prevent them. And making sure my baby is healthy and pain free is priceless. And it is safe for others to eat. Our kittens would try to eat it and the vet ... MoreHaven't gotten this yet from petco since they switched over from dr foster and smith. But the food itself works.
