Hill's prescription diet c/d dry has helped with my Shih Tzu had bladder stones surgically removed. 7 years on and no further problems since solely being on this food

It's a good dog food reasonably priced but wish it came in different flavours like salmon or lamb my dog is fussy eater and would benefit from a variety of flavours

My mini schnauzer has had recurring UTI’s and crystals since she was a few months old. After she had an inflection that kept coming back every couple weeks we decided to change her from a prescription dry dog food to a wet dog food because it has more moisture and water content than a dry food does it helps make sure she’s consuming enough water and staying hydrated during the day. It seems as if the wet dog food has been helping and manage her chronic infections *knock on wood* There are 2 “flavors” that come in the c/d formula and she prefers this Chicken and Vegetable Stew one which you can see has pieces of rice, peas and carrots in (the other is like a Pâté). She’s almost exclusively on this diet + a few other supplements and a bone or non RX treat every now ... MoreMy mini schnauzer has had recurring UTI’s and crystals since she was a few months old. My dogs absolutely love this food. They go wild every time they hear the can open. One of my pups had to go on this food after a bout of bladder stones she got from eating another brand’s food. We alternate between this and the dry food and they really seem to love both! This really includes the best ingredients to keep my pups healthy and happy.
My 3 year old Chocolate Lab has pH balancing problems so her vet(s) have recommended this specific dog food! She's been eating it since about January 2022. It smells GROSS 😂😂 but it has helped a lot. 4/5 stars for bad smell and because she now May 2022 her pH is off again and she's having a bladder infection with crystals. (Now adding medicine to her strict diet 🥺)
This food is a serious Godsend. My dog had been getting UTIs and then developed kidney stones. She wouldn't eat the other prescription food I had her on and got the dried version of this one. After a few days she stopped wanting the dry food. Well, mix this wet food in and she is golden! She's actually eating it, which is wonderful, because I was worried about having to force feed her or switch foods again.
Recently the vet switched my dog to a urinary prescription wet food after we took him in because he couldn't pee. Turns out he had a tonnnnn of struvite crystal particles in his urinary tract. Anyway, he's always had a sensitive stomach so I was nervous to switch his food, but he has been totally fine with it, no tummy troubles. And he is so excited to eat it every time. Smells like cat food kinda. No feeding guide on the cans and the website says to feed 2 cans a day for 20lb dog which is...an insane amount of food?? Still a bit confused on that part and have been feeding him less than that.
Our miniature pinscher has never loved food, but he loves this one with chicken. He eats the other kind too, but this one he throws away, so highly recommended!
I hadn't realised that the food would be so much smaller/lighter. My dog is eating it no problem but finding the right amount is a little harder than normal, following the guidelines seem ridiculous as the quantity has tripled, it's far too much. I will go back to my normal type when finished. Great food for a petite dog as kibble is small, my bichon is a large dog (not fat) but her sister is half her size a smaller type and about the size of a chihuahua, and the food would suit better.
