Think it’s because the output shaft has noticeable play; none of my other saws have and it’s the only thing I can put it down to. FFX say I have to deal directly with Hikoki. HiKoki won’t answer the phone. Their automated system wouldn’t accept an exchange because I’d had it more than seven days (despite only using it once). Took it in for “repair”, kept it for a week and sent it back untouched.At a bit of a loss what to do with it. It’s an expensive ornament, or something for butchering through stuff that you don’t mind cut lines being all over the place. Spend your money on something better, or with better backup.

Great little product , from Hikoki, normally a makita man but having brought the Hikoki nail gun that I don't use everyday I need a product that uses the Hikoki batteries so I got the circular saw. At least that way it will cycle the batteries.
Just changed over to the 18v Hitachi tools and this is the best 18v circular saw I've used by far.
This by no means is a bad saw. The while hitachi range of tools are a joy to use. There are a host of features that make this saw my favorite cordless saw to use.Good points1: very lightweight and compact.2: line of site is good3: so smooth to use and silent feature is a nice bonus4: depth of cut is one of if not the highest in its classBad points1:price is high2:feels underpowered when compared with other tools in it's class (bosch and dewalt feel more guttsy)3: battery indicator is awful.My real worry is that ive owned many hitachi 18v tools and the reliability is an issue. This tools has been back to the manufacturer already due to a broken blade lock. It maybe a one off but if you're looking for a new tool platform i would look elce were.
