I ordered this online and have to say the quality is disappointing. My previous hose was too short but a much superior quality (Karcher). It does the job, and I hope it does the distance!

I've fitted this hose to the side of our house and used it a handful of times in the last two weeks. It seems well made and the mechanism for reeling it in is working really well. It seems to have a VERY tiny internal leak, but nothing to affect the water pressure and I'm really happy with the product. It was easy to install and all the hardware was totally adequate for the job. Links to my existing hozelock accessories.

The Hozelock Wall Mounted hose might seem expensive but it is well worth the money. I bought one many years ago & the rubber rings in the connectors have become worn so I have bought this new 40m version which should get round most of my garden. The new version fits onto the wall mounting of the old one which saved drilling new holes. I had a small problem getting the right connectors onto the correct hose-ends but soon sorted them out. The hose pulls out easily & is much easier to rewind than the older version. The anti-kink hose is a great improvement too - it really does not kink. I don't know how long I had one of these, something like 12 years of sterling service. It eventually developed a leak that was beyond my ability to repair, so I have very happily bought an identical replacement. Great for hose management and storage, works intuitively and can easily be de-mounted and put in the garage during the icy winter. Very quick delivery from B&Q, and at the cheapest price on the internet. It's worth buying quality
Over the last few years I have purchased a few of the lightweight expandable hoses. They are so easy to use and give a promise that they are heavy duty, but in reality, are only functional for a very short portion before they burst. I had the earliest ones replaced easily, but the last one required me to return it to China at my expense! I thought I was dealing with a UK company, so there was no way I was going to attempt to post 150 ft of hose and attachments overseas. I had it repaired many times, each time reducing its length, but it used to be good for about 2 uses before it burst again. I finally decided to call it a day and invest in a Hozelock that I know will last me years. It is so easy to use, with its assisted retractibility.
Although the design and specification of the 40m Fast Reel is perfect for our needs it unfortunately leaked from the rear of the housing as soon as the tap was turned on. Customer Service we're excellent in promptly arranging collection and a replacement. However, same fault and the second one had to be collected too. Now awaiting a refund.
Decision to buy was triggered by a good price offer from Wickes. It's installed on the wall and has been tested and all seems good. Winding mechanism worked well but only rewound once so far. Hopefully it will last for years!
Mounted the hose box onto the brick wall on the side of my house. The installation instructions were quite clear. Used it several times already - it pulls easily out and retracts with no drama. Handle operates very easily and the hose fits fully in. Generally I’m happy with the purchase and the quality so far. We will see what happens in a couple of years!
Brilliant, I had the earlier version for 25 years! Replaced it with this latest model due to the old green hosepipe becoming less flexible making the drum difficult to wind up. No such issues with the new model. Wickes also had the lowest price found.
Excellent hose reel. It works very easily making winding up a snap! I love the way the hose is layered which means it doesn't tangle or kink when winding up. I chose this reel instead of the auto one because it fits close to the wall and doesn't swing which is a plus since it takes up less room yet is really easy to wind up. I like that it can be easily lifted off the mounting bracket to be stored away for winter. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
