Best on flat areas

This epilator works very well on legs and other large or flat areas of the body. I will definitely keep using it for that in the future! The light is extremely handy. I have rated four stars as it is noisier than what I expected so that limits when I can use it. It is also not ideal for areas such as underarms and pubic regions, even when using the attachments, as the head is rather chunky and curved in the opposite direction of what is needed for your nooks and crannies. I like the light feature to show up fine hairs and the ergonomic shape helps navigate the knees and other bony areas comfortably. I even bravely tried it under arm and it was fine, I barely felt it, unlike my previous models. The sensitivity attachments can be useful if you are new to epilation but in practice I just use the epilator itself without them, it has 2 speeds. I cannot recommend this epilator enough, I was so thrilled with it, I have bought one for my lovely daughter in law for her birthday. As a previous reviewer has commented, the only thing that could be enhanced is the storage bag it comes with, feels a bit cheap and could be better, but other than that would say go buy!

From Brazilian Wax to Philips Epilator 8000

I was regularly getting a Brazilian wax and since I have an older plugin model of Phillips; I decided to get the newest model. I wish I would have been doing a Brazilian wax years ago so then I would have had this awesome machine. I am currently using it on my thighs and my pubic area from front to backside and anything in between. I’m hairless from my waist to my knees. Thanks to this machine. I would add photos but being of the areas it might be offensive. Definitely use this after a shower and I’ve tried the attachments and prefer not to use them. The head of the machine I prefer against my skin.

Gets the job done
5 October 2023

I have only just recently purchased this epilator and used it once but the result was silky smooth legs. It truly gets the job done, for legs anyway. For the last few decades, I have always used Braun epilators and this is my first Philips brand, which I am impressed with after the first use. My previous Braun epilator was a few years old and barely catching any hairs, plus running out of battery charge, thus wasting my time trying to epilate my legs. This Philips epilator managed to get all of my legs smooth and hair-free before it ran out of battery power. I haven't tried the other attachment heads yet but I would recommend this as a very good epilator, with a comfortable grip and decent light.

I wish they would’ve kept the old style one
25 July 2023

I’ve been using Philips epilators for quite a few years now and I’ve always loved the older models (even though the batteries would stop charging after a few years, they were great)! I’ve recently purchased this one and I loved all the attachments that it was coming with- the brush is amazing! The trimmers work perfectly fine as well and that’s pretty much where it stops for me! The epilator function and head is a bit weak, the head is small and doesn’t seem to have much grip compared to the older models, the 2 speeds aren’t that great either! The shape and size are quite good as well thinking about it now…but overall, I’m a bit disappointed

Legs & Under Arms
21 January 2022

Legs. The first time I used it on my wet legs, it worked wonders! Made my skin smooth for over a week compared to a few days from regular shaving. The second time I used it on my wet legs about a month later, it couldn't catch the finer baby hair, so it left spots here and there. I had to go over those spots several times once my legs were dry to somewhat work.Under Arms. Ouch! Very sensitive the first time I used it and took over an hour to complete both underarms for my first time epilating. My husband thought it was pulling on my skin, when I think it was just literally tweezing out all the thick roots. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch... BUT WORTH IT! The epilator has lowered the frequency of shaving under arms from every 2-3 days to about once a week. The second time I used it, it was not as painful, but it was still hard trying to get all the hair by myself as some were growing in different directions. Would be easier if you have a second person do it for you.All in all, I don't think I will ever go back to regular shaving for my non-sensitive areas. Although I feel like epilating takes longer than regular shaving due to spotty areas that don't catch on the first/second try, but the less frequency required to have smooth legs and hairless under arms is more convenient for me.

Love it
24 March 2023

As someone with PCOS, I get facial hair and this has changed my life, I just run this over quickly instead of standing there plucking individual hairs every day. It works very well for dark, coarse hairs, but less so for lighter hairs. It does armpits very well. It did my leg hairs well when I was white with darker hairs, but atm I am tanned and my hairs are blonde and it seems to struggle with them a bit now, takes a few going overs. But I still love it. If you have dark, coarse hairs you need this in your life.

Not sure why I waited so long
28 August 2023

I was struggling with my previous Epilator and was reluctant to purchase a new one. What if they were all the same? My very first Epilady Epilator (many years ago) had spoiled me. I finally purchased the Philips 8000 series wet dry and could not be more pleased. This unit holds a charge and is very efficient at removing the hair. The LED light helps to bring into view those hair that like to hide.I have not used all the attachments but have them if I choose to try them out. I love the fact that I can travel with it and really not worry about loosing the charge. Also love that the unit runs at full capacity when on battery power. My previous unit would run without a cord but at a weeker speed. My only slight complaint for this unit is that the handle is very slim, ... MoreI was struggling with my previous Epilator and was reluctant to purchase a new one. I would definately recomment this product for anyone looking for a replacement epilator or to try one for the first time.

Powerful so relatively quick
11 May 2023

I like that it has 2 settings as powerful one makes epilating legs quicker than my previous epilator. Lighter setting good for first time users. The blade section is slightly curved which I guess is useful for many areas but would actually prefer it to be flat as sometimes misses hair as doesn't touch the skin in places. I haven't used the attachments yet as not needed to so can't comment on those. I like that it comes with a charger that goes into a normal plug socket rather than a shaver socket as more options as to where to charge it. So far so good.
