Huda Beauty Icy Nude Eyeshadow Palette

The color story is really beautiful, it's got a great range of tones, and the warmer shades make this palette far more versatile. Huda plays with experimental formulas, and in this palette, the sparkles (VVS and Diamond Dew) and glitter (Bling) are definitely unique formulas. These shades are not incredibly intuitive and probably not beginner friendly. VVS and Diamond Dew are flaky and patchy when applied from pan to finger to eye. I find that it's best to work out these shades on the back of my hand before applying with a finger, as they go from flaky to smooth metallic. Trying to smooth them on your lid directly will leave flaky fallout all over your face, and it's not easy to brush off. Bling is strange. Trying to smooth them on your lid directly will leave flaky fallout all over your face, and it's not easy to brush off. Bling is strange. It's gritty, rough glitter, and applies patchy (on my hand). It's not the smooth, topper glitters we've become accustomed to, like the Moondust, Mario or ND formulas. It's thick and gritty. I suppose with good tacky, glitter primer you can get it to adhere ok, but it's going to feel heavy, as the glitter particles are substantially bigger than any other glitter I've used. I'm personally not comfortable using it on my eyes.The mattes are all really beautiful. They're the typical Huda formula (pigmented, soft and blendable) and for me, they're the standout in the palette. I can't say I recommend this palette for everyone, but if you don't mind putting in a little work for the unique formulas, it's a solid choice.

Gorgeous winter palette

Huda Beauty gifted me this product for free in return for my honest review.So, this is apparently the last big palette Huda will be releasing! And it's a good one.It is the perfect icy palette for winter. You can create so many looks with it, its unreal.I love the mauvey grey nudes which are gorgeous for a 90s cool look.There's a duo chromatic shade in there, Iced out, which is white but shines purple when it catches the light. There's silver, pale gold and pinky metallic. Perfect for the festive season. Slow walk, don't run for this palette

I bought this palette expecting it to be a holy grail and surprisingly I am returning it. I have tried several looks with it and it's just not worth getting in my opinion when I compare it to other palettes in the price range (such as Natasha Denona).The positives: It swatches beautifully and the color story truly is cool. There are many looks that can be created for different occasions with this palette. I think on my skin tone (light neutral) this was lovely color wise. That's all I have to say positively unfortunately.The negatives: the swatches do not match the performance you get once on the eye. You likely have palettes in your collection that will give you the same sparkle. I think for the effect HB was trying to go for with these shades, they would have been better off seller a liquid sparkle topper. The mattes... are so underwhelming IMO. I keep hearing that HB has a buttery amazing formula, but these are dusty and have mediocre staying powder. For example - swatch on the arm and then lightly rub off. It'll be gone quickly. How is that supposed to stay on the eyes all day without getting everywhere? The sparkles also have fallout if youre not careful because of the formula being so grainy. And Bling is just an awful "shadow". It's a grainy glitter that honestly doesnt have enough sparkle to add much to looks and I personally dont feel safe putting it near my eyes. To top it all off, the palette has an off chemical smell on it that is not pleasant to take in while I try to use the palette mirror (love the large mirrors btw!)For me this is a pass- there are better performing cool palettes and sparkle eyeshadow toppers that can get you the same looks but elevated. I would've loved this at 19 but at 28 I need a palette that's not going to get all over my face.

I’m really torn on this palette. I’m normally such a fan of Huda’s eyeshadow formula, so I was so excited to play with this. I love the gorgeous neutral color story and how everything leans a bit more cool—it makes it feel super wintery. The mattes are her usual soft, blendable formula that I really enjoy, but I think the shimmers are kind of a let down. Don’t get me wrong, they do end up looking gorgeous on the eyes, it’s just that they are very crumbly and fussy to work with, so you have to know that going in. Out of 7 shimmer shades, I found that only 2 of them were a more traditional shimmer without being dry and crumbling everywhere. This palette has reimagined what eyeshadow can do. These nudes, while they are matte, don't just sit on top of your eyelids like dry paint. They blend and build like an absolute dream with no patchiness and bind together in a way that allows even the most inexperienced wearer to create a unique look. Huda does it best and while I love all of her products, sometimes one comes along that wows me to tears. This is that product. The possibilities are endless and I have NEVER been one to get excited over nude palettes. These shades are fabulous to work with, but when you combine them with the shimmers, you are creating MAGIC!! I have to say, this is my favorite eyeshadow palette in the last 5 years, if not of all time!!
