However, my experience with this headset has been far from satisfactory, leaving me disappointed and frustrated. One of the major issues I encountered with the HyperX Cloud II is its build quality. Despite its seemingly durable appearance, the headset feels flimsy and cheaply made. The plastic construction doesn't inspire confidence in its longevity, and I've noticed creaking sounds when adjusting the size or moving the ear cups. This lack of sturdiness is particularly disappointing considering the price point of this headset. The comfort level of the Cloud II is also lacking. The headband padding is insufficient and tends to exert uncomfortable pressure on the top of the head, causing discomfort during extended gaming sessions. The ear cups, although claimed to be memory foam, are not plush enough and can cause ear fatigue after prolonged use. Additionally, the clamping force of the headset is too tight, making it uncomfortable for individuals with larger heads.Sound quality is another area where the Cloud II falls short. While the audio is decent, it lacks the depth and clarity one would expect from a gaming headset in this price range. The bass response is particularly underwhelming, lacking punch and impact. The virtual 7.1 surround sound feature, touted as a selling point, fails to deliver an immersive experience and often feels artificial and gimmicky. One of the most significant disappointments with this headset is the microphone quality. The detachable microphone is subpar, producing muffled and distorted audio. It often picks up background noise and has poor noise cancellation, making it frustrating for both the user and those on the receiving end of the communication. This issue severely hampers in-game communication and general voice chat quality.Furthermore, the inline remote control feels cheap and poorly designed. The buttons are stiff and unresponsive, making it difficult to adjust volume or mute the microphone quickly. This lack of user-friendly controls can be frustrating during intense gaming moments when quick adjustments are necessary. While the HyperX - Cloud II Wired Gaming Headset may seem appealing due to its brand reputation and marketing, it ultimately fails to deliver on its promises. The lackluster build quality, uncomfortable fit, mediocre sound quality, and subpar microphone make this headset a poor choice for serious gamers or anyone seeking a high-quality audio experience. Considering the price point, there are far better options available on the market that offer superior comfort, sound quality, and durability.

Reposting this review because it somehow got taken down. There are several issues that I have with this headset that, in my opinion, make it very inferior to other headsets on the market. I’ll start with the biggest issue which is the sound quality. If I had to compare it to another headset, I would compare it to a headset that cost roughly half as much from about 10 years ago before I would compare it to one of its competitors. As an example, it’s a little bit better than a razer kraken pro headset that I bought for $40 in 2014, which isn’t saying much since that razer headset is the worst one I’ve ever owned and was basically unusable. As far as the hyperx headset goes for sound quality, the bass is very weak and both the bass and treble are overshadowed by the mid range sound which makes everything sound very monotone and flat. In addition, the headset is advertised as being surround sound capable, but using windows sonic for headphones yields terrible results and I would say that to call these headphones surround sound capable is a complete lie. Overall, the sound quality is terrible. My next complaint is also the best thing about this headset, which is the microphone. Overall the microphone is decent, but it tends to pick up background noise a little too often, which isn’t a huge deal but I thought it was worth mentioning. Another complaint I have is the overall build quality. I have no way of proving it, but based on how the materials feel it really seems like they made this headset with the cheapest materials possible and put some metal around the earcups to give it the illusion of being high quality. I have never experienced a headset that is as flimsy as this one. Also, the band adjustment doesn’t like to stay in place which is just really annoying. Another thing is that there isn’t a switch or button anywhere on the headset itself to mute the mic which I think is ridiculous. Where the lack of quality is most evident, however, is in the accessories included with the headset. It comes with 2 felt ear cushions and a usb dongle/extension cord for use with PC. The felt ear cushions are very itchy and uncomfortable and it’s clear that they’re only included for marketing reasons, so that they can say it comes with different types of ear cushions, and they are not intended to actually be used. The USB dongle includes buttons for changing volume and a mic switch (which is the only way the mic can be muted) and I’m not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that it feels like a very cheap plastic toy. Each of the 5 buttons takes a different amount of force to press and makes a different sound. My final complaint is not about the headset, but rather with the company itself. Hyperx as a brand is terrible for 2 big reasons. First, they dump tons of money into advertising for their awful products and pay streamers and esports professionals to briefly use their products as well as do brand deals for the company. There’s a reason why the only people that you see using their products are either new streamers who would be smart to accept any brand deal and bigger streamers who are known to be sellouts. Their whole ad campaign is meant to market their products as being “good for gaming” but the products themselves have literally zero features that make them fit this description. This type of thing is very common lately and is by every definition a literal scam. My next complaint of the company is how they handle criticism of their products. They have a lot of customer service representatives that reply to people’s reviews and basically try to invalidate the criticism by asking irrelevant questions. This is done to make the company seem like it cares about people’s complaints but in reality if they really cared they would use the criticism to improve their products instead of just responding to it and making it seem like they care about what people have to say when they very clearly do not. If someone from Hyperx is reading this, I suggest that you put more money into improving the products you sell instead of advertising.

The only flaw is that the inner headset vinyl (that directly touches your hair side) like material of the headband part is starting to flake away slowly. So eventually I will soon buy another same exact headset brand/model. I actually currently own two of this same exact headsets and have one as backup just incase. So far I’ve tried many other brands including those that cost from the range of $30 - $400. But in the end some how and/or some way all those headsets begin to start failing or break within a 2 year span. I recommend giving this brand and/or maybe this exact model a try for yourself. You won’t be disappointed unless your very unlucky and receive a lemon of a product, in which I doubt though.

Great Headset, but USB Dongle Breaks Easily
28 December 2022

If you're looking for some good gaming headphones with solid sound quality and a comfortable fit, this is a good pick. I've had these headphones for 9 months now and up until now after a user error accident, they worked great. There is one flaw to this headset, and that is the USB dongle. It is pretty fragile and bends easily enough to where any slight amount of force will permanently bend or break your dongle. Be wary if your PC sits in a tight space, near your legs where you might bump into it, or if you have animals that could brush up against it; any of these things could damage your dongle. Add the fact that the dongle is long , narrow, and is several inches long, it is an accident waiting to happen. Once your dongle is broken, your headset is trash. The headset cannot be paired to another dongle, and HyperX does not sell replacement dongles. The only thing left to do at that point is to contact HyperX support, but they will only help you if you still have the purchase receipt.Overall, this is a great headset that just comes short of being perfect due to some poor design choices on the USB dongle. If you take really good care of your headset, it'll be a great purchase. Otherwise, you may want to consider some other options.

Preface to say, this 4 star rating is only because I have a massive head, like literally. Not fat or anything, I just cannot find a hat that fits me. I'm absolutely sure this will not affect you, unless you knowingly have a head that does not fit any hat you've ever tried. The issue for this product arose that i'd feel my head being squished by the headset, which led to initial discomfort. I'd often swap back to just using my speakers because my head was aching from wearing it for so long. However, as continued use got on, either it turned my head into an meat accordion to make itself fit, or i just stretched it out with my immensely obtuse cranium use. Either way, the discomfort went away after about a week or two. Sound quality is absolutely stellar. I've almost overdosed on heavy bass at least 5 times since I got it. Outgoing verbal quality is also amazing, so my friends have said- although, there was a brief period where my outgoing audio was not good. I figure it was just a loose connection, so i took apart and reconnected everything and i've not had a single issue since- (In retrospect, my friends discovered it's entirely possible audio was going through my webcam mic instead). I ordered this headset about two months ago, and the quality that it has so far bestowed me with is probably the best i've ever experienced, then again, i've never shelled out this much for a headset/mic in the past, so it was to be expected. Unsure? thinking of checking many a forum to find the right answer? Just buy this. I've extensively asked many different people/communities what they think the best for the money is, and they're all pointing to this. It's probably definitely worth the money.

Looses connection to receiver, mute button problem
13 May 2023

Since day 1 of purchasing this headset, it's been losing connection to the receiver intermitently wether it's fully charged or not. Tried different USB ports and also on other PC's and laptops but with the same identical results. Not very convenient when on a conference call and the headset cuts off for 8 to 10 seconds or when gaming and this problem occurs about 4 to 5 times in a 2 hour span. The mute button doesn't work half of the time. Microphone is pretty basic at best but tolerable. The headset comfort, the light weight and speaker sound are the only thing it has going for itself. The Ngenuity software is very basic and pretty much useless. Not worth that kind of money in my opinion. I saw many positive reviews which is why I purchased this set. Problems with Ear Cushion
1 March 2023

Great Headset for audio, external sound card. Sometimes have some difficulties when I plug my ps4 controller into my computer but no overall issues. Can remove the headset from the soundcard and plug into controller. The reason for 2 star review is due to the ear cushion. Once it falls out you are unable to put it back in. Mine fell out around the 1 year mark. I have tried fixing it (even screwing/unscrewing the mounts) and it has never successfully stayed attached more than a few hours. I always have to place the cushion manually between my headset and ears. I have contacted their customer support and reviewed videos and I am still unable to resolve my issue. They stated it was fixable but that is not the case. It is too finicky and difficult to do. There support ... MoreGreat Headset for audio, external sound card. THE BOMBDIGGITY!

for the love of god this headset is amazing!!!I made the switch from wireless because i was experiencing some issues with every single headset i bought and i was fed up with it. i made my return and when to go buy these.the sound quality that come out of this headset is phenomenal. directional audio is great on console and pc. the 7.1 surround sound is only offered through the USB device that comes with the headset. I mostly use this on my pc so i keep it hooked up with the USB. these 50mm drivers are doing their job!on the USB device you get a button in the middle that lets you choose to have the surround sound on or off and you get mic controls as well as volume controls. the mic is decent enough. not neccessarily professional sounding but if you have a usb ... Morefor the love of god this headset is amazing!!!I made the switch from wireless because i was experiencing some issues with every single headset i bought and i was fed up with it. i made my return and when to go buy these.the sound quality that come out of this headset is phenomenal. directional audio is great on console and pc. the 7.1 surround sound is only offered through the USB device that comes with the headset.
