I took the first one of these i bought back, because the input for the usb was wobbly AF and it kept disconnecting. Because I didn't have the box it cost me $75 to exchange for a new one. The new one has EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM. I've had it for a couple of weeks and already it's wobbly and disconnecting. I kept the box this time so I will be returning it for a refund. Very very disappointing.

It's perfect! I bought it because it's one of the few small-sized keyboards with MIDI out, so I can use it with analog gear without a computer. It complements my Squarp Pyramid perfectly, giving me an expanded keyboard and direct MIDI control over whatever piece of gear the Squarp is controlling. At the same time, it's small enough to fit on my desk!

I use this for both my iPad and Studio computer (i7 Mini). Fired right up on both as soon as it was plugged in. The keys are full-size and have very nice action. My only complaint was the super short connector cable that it came with. The free Sampletank software was a nice bonus, though tricky to navigate at first. Overall, I'm quite pleased!

I love the feel and performance of this controller. It works well while traveling, whether in my hotel or on the plane.Thank you B&H. I'm very impressed with your service and delivery. You had what no one else could deliver.
I like.- smol- works- matches my other gearI use this to control my Animoog app on my tiny iPhone. Perfect for that purpose. I prefer full size keys, but this fits better in the available space on my desk.Only negative I have is that the usb type b -> lightning cord is only a foot long and I can't find longer cords of that type anywhere.
I am an adult piano student. The 37 key irig is small enough to carry in my luggage and allows me to practice when I am traveling for work. Its not the same as a full size piano to practice on but it has a metronome and it is surprisingly playable for a little keyboard to work things out on.The free apps that come with it are nice and all of the different instrument sounds are fun to play with. The connection to my iPad was plug and play and works reliably. I like it so far.
There are many things that are less than ideal about this keyboard, but at the end of the day, it has full-sized keys and it "feels" good under hand. It is a "synth action", so not weighted like a piano, but still a pleasing key action compared to everything else (that I have tried) in its class. It also works seamlessly with any iOS device that has a Lightning port. It runs off off of Lighting port power with no errors or issues, and unlike some of IK's later models, it doesn't need any separate batteries or power supply. It's about as simple to use as any MIDI keyboard can be. The bundled apps work well and sound good. There are many in-app purchases available, but it also works just fine with the included instruments. There are many in-app purchases available, but it also works just fine with the included instruments. The MIDI velocity curves work perfectly with all of IK's offerings, although not so well with the Korg app. Very nice with Pure Piano, Synthesia and some others though, so maybe it is Korg that is "different". This controller comes with three cables, one each for iOS, Android, and real computer. I can verify that it works fine with a Windows PC, and as with iOS, it gets it's power via the USB bus, so there is no external power adapter or batteries to mess with. My only wish is that it had more keys. 37 keys are enough to play many songs with both hands, but there are just times when, say, 49 keys would be nice. And IK Multimedia does have a 49-key controller, but having bought one of those and subsequently returned it, I now know that it lacks the simple ability to function without batteries. Sure, it has those extra keys along with some other nice features, but it loses the simple pleasure and simplicity of this model. And in case anyone cares, I find IK Multimedia to be a weird company. I have never been completely happy with any support experience, and if one happens to need a replacement for one of those proprietary cables, they charge dearly for those. Still, having had half a dozen different brands and models, this is still my favorite.
Firstly, DO NOT BUY this controller if you plan on connecting to an iMac Desktop running OS Mohave. Everytime you shutdown the desktop, even though you are connected directly to an internal desktop USB port, the iRig keys 2 Pro stops communicating with the computer. The only way to "wake up" the iRig is to cycle the USB supplied power by unplugging the cable between the iRig and the computer and then plugging the cable back in. The so called tech support staff says it's the computer's fault, yet I have a third party Focusrite Scarlett I/O box connected in the exact same manner and don't have to cycle it's USB power to get it to start communicating. I'm new to MiDI. I wanted an easy to use MIDI controller for my iPad and iPhone GarageBand app. I saw this iRig MIDI controller and saw how simplistic it was. Thought I'd give it a try. Just plugged it in and was playing all the instruments on my GarageBand. It came with three different sets of cables for Mac or PC, Android and IOS. Very happy with my purchase.
I easily fit the board in front of my laptop on the desktop. It is light and portable. When I've finished, I just lift it with one hand and put in on a nearby lounge. I've been using Musescore with mine. The midi keyboard sounds just like a grand piano when I use that sample in Musescore. People with larger fingers may struggle with the mini though. The one critical thing I had to do was to adjust the key sensitivity to avoid delay of sound coming from each key I struck. Shifting octave range is easy peasy with just one button to push. Great for home use.
