IKEA is yet more proof that great design enhances human existence. IKEA isn't about rampant materialism but about minimising that materialism through better design to tame clutter. Brilliant. All good . . . now can someone please show how to get to the the carpark? (Laughter emoji).

The quality is good and sturdy. And they can be stapled. But they are far too expensive!!A lid that cost $1 a year ago, now costs $4 !!IKEA, seriously??And this is just ONE example!MOST products have gone up tremendously. This can not be explained by higher transportation costs or supply chain issues…!No, this unfortunately is not my preferred store to go anymore.

IKEA SAMLA storage boxes are offered in varied sizes, both tall and wide. The material looks fantastic and durable. I have ordered 3 sets of the boxes in March 2023, and the delivery was prompt plus the package arrived intact + beautifully packed, without any damage inside-out. The delivery cost is only 199 INR! And there’s a further price drop on the delivery as I right this review. The boxes are as though they are made-to-order, and have lids. Go for it!

In the last few years the quality of the covers was poor but has improved so it will not fall off. It was easily broken but I haven’t had the new design break since. I have lots of 12gal and a few 17gal. The price of 12gal has increased to almost double. I further increase will prevent future purchases as it will not be competitive. It used to come in a few colors that was very useful in finding contents out of a few hundred but they were discontinued. I wish the tops came in colors as their increase in 100%
Great storage, sleek design, all sizes can be stacked together. I use them to store all manner of things around our home, from spare dining sets, toys, Lego, fabric collections in the sewing room, to small tools, beach gear etc. The design gives you in-built handles which is great, but that reduces some space on the inside. I wanted to store filing wallets inside but I could only store them on the ends of the box as the middle area is too narrow for them- just to note. Otherwise they are perfect.
I use Ikea's storage boxes because, when they're empty, the nest together in a stack and do not take up much room. Also, when the lid is on the box, they stack ── also a space-saver. I like the fact that they are clear because I can see what's in them. I use these in the garage. I like the fact that the lids DO NOT have an airtight seal. I've used other brands that have a tight seal on the lids and have experienced condensation. I never get any interior condensation with the Ikea boxes ── a plus! The trade-off with these lids; however, is that if you place the boxes in the back of your pick up truck, you can't expect the lid to stay on ── you'll need to tape it to the box. The boxes are very transparent when they are new; but, over time they become slightly opaque ... MoreI use Ikea's storage boxes because, when they're empty, the nest together in a stack and do not take up much room. The boxes are very transparent when they are new; but, over time they become slightly opaque especially if exposed to UV. But, the opacity is very gradual and only slight. I have boxes that have been on the shelf for ten years and I can still see thru them just fine. I have used several different brands of storage boxes over the years, and still do concurrently. In my opinion, Ikea has the best thing going.
These are great for art and craft materials for my younger girls and hair styling products and tools for the older girls. Every one has a few of these tubs in the bottom of their walk in robes for their things. Always easy to locate something due to being see through. Not necessary to unpack the tub in order to hunt for something. They are easy to wipe clean and light to move. They come in many different sizes too.
These are great. Perfect size for heavy items like books. The lids seem to stay on well enough. Hope they stand the test of time. Please ikea try to coordinate stock availability bin and lid in stock at the same time. I had to make 3 trips to the store near me before I was able to get both pieces. And NO I don’t want to “click and collect”! Why are you trying to deter people from visiting your stores?? Keep this in mind that every time I go to the brick and mortar store I always buy extra. Every single time!
I love Samla storage containers - they are sturdy and I love that you can see what's inside. I've had some of these containers for a decade or more and they are still strong as ever. They are designed to last a long time.At some point they change the lid design to have a little tab on the underside of the lid to keep it in place (before it used to be actual clips). Although I thought the clips kept the lid on more securely, they were either always out of stock or they were easy to lose.
