Ilford Multigrade FB Warmtone is a premium black and white paper with variable contrast. Compared to a neutral-tone paper it has a warm white base colour and will give a noticeably warm image tone to your images. The emulsion is coated onto a 255 g/m² baryta coated, fibre base. It has been designed for ultimate image quality, with rich and warm image tones and a high response to toning techniques and has long been regarded as the discerning printers first choice. The deep blacks and creamy whites of this paper and makes it ideal for artistic photographs and portraits. Unlike some other papers, which get their warm tone from a warm tone-emulsion, this paper achieves its warm tone with additional dyes in the emulsion. This special feature makes the paper a little more sensitive. Ilford Multigrade FB Warmtone yields excellent results with almost all toning and chemical reduction techniques. The lith printing process tends to cause the paper to behave like a cold tone paper. Multigrade FB Warmtone will deliver 7 full grades of contrast from grade 00 to grade 5. The contrast can be purposefully controlled using colour filters during exposure. Ilford Multigrade FB Warmtone is available in a glossy finish the gives the paper a smooth surface or in a semi-matt finish gives the paper a natural-looking finish. Multigrade FB is also available in neutral and cool tone variants.
