I have been using the E.S.E. pods for over 25 years. I like the quality of the coffee, flavor, crème, etc. They take up very little space and are very easy to clear up after use compared to traditional espresso. no matter who makes it, it turns out the same. I like, not only the dark roast, also the medium and my wife uses the decaf. My first machine was a Illy restaurant quality 2 piece coffee maker with separate steamer/frothier, I still have it. Now that we have online sales, finding the ESE pods is much easier, the same goes for the machines. Thank you Illy Café.

Growing up in an Italian family, espresso is akin to mother’s milk. Illy in every form is our family’s choice over the gazillion of brands available. I’m true to my vintage machines( yes- I have three) . From time to time- I will grind & tamp - but really?? ESE pods are my choice always - I love black label- keep red label for the milder people & green label for those who are caffeine restricted. The intenso label is the black label- reformulated & possesses the rich deep notes that I hunger for several times a day!

We love this product so much we bought some for both of our boys to try and they love it too! The flavor is so delicious and the pods are perfect with less mess and paper instead of plastic. I can't not have them now they are worth every bit!!
I bought an espresso coffee maker and with these pods, I made a great cup of espresso. I like the simplicity of the ESE pod over getting a container of finely ground beans. Also, the ESE pods are individually wrapped in a foil bag for maximium freshness. I like these over the Nespresso pods - much better flavor and richness.
Not really a review. Used 1 pod and filled cup to maximum line with water. Resulting coffee was extremely weak. How much water should I add to get stronger coffee? Or are these pods not recommended for this coffeemaker?
I am in my 15th plus year of using both pods and ground coffee.I love the fact that the pods are compostable. The flavor is rich and consistent, and my husband is able to make my first morning espresso without any problem.I have been resisting to buy any other prepacked products as I don't wish to add to more plastic in this world.For all the years that I have enjoyed Illy coffee I have only one suggestion: please, provide a service for the rather expensive machines. Often it is a question of a European o-ring to be replaced At the moment I have three machines that I had to retire because of a lack of service.In all - even though sometimes pod delivery has been delayed - I am a loyal customer and have recommended illy to my friends and house guests.Thank you!
I was introduced to Illy, and ESE machines, in Firenze, where a gent at teh client site I was visiting shared his "secret stash" with me. The company had an automatic espresso machine, but when this gent saw I really love espresso, he showed me what good is. I have since sought out Illy, and when I was able to get an ESE machine here, I did. 3 long shots, 2 sugar is daily bliss. The espresso is always consistently excellent.
I am a regular subscriber to Illy ground Intenso and Forte for my La Pavoni hand pump espresso machine. When it gave up the ghost a few weeks ago, I pulled out my old Francis Francis X1 and forgot that it had a basket (never used) for ESE pods, so, I decided to try them. WOW! what a nice cup of coffee and with a great crema on top, too. Also love the fact that they are biodegradable (not like K-Cups). Ordering more (till I figure out what my next new machine will be) Thank you, Illy - Always the best quality espresso coffee!
I love the convenience of the illy pods. When I want to make a double I have to brew 2 separate shots so I was excited to try the lungo. It works great with the double option on my Delonghi Dedica. I just wish it was available in a bold roast like the Intenso pods. I hope illy will offer it soon.
