The sports kayak "Excursion Pro K1" from Intex is a sporty, robust kayak and suitable for great paddling tours on rivers, lakes or the sea. The combination of 3-layer Super Tough and Super Strong material makes the boat robust, durable and resistant to abrasion, salt water and sunlight. The material thickness of the boat skin of 0.75 mm as well as the squat pressure inflation ensures high stability and safety. The inflatable floor in bar construction allows comfortable handling and provides additional buoyancy and stability. Two differently shaped fins for deep and shallow water support keeping a straight course and can be changed according to requirements. The inflatable, adjustable seat can be adjusted in its seat height by means of inflatable pads and the optimal position of the backrest can be set by means of a belt system. Other features include two removable fishing rod holders, a floor-mounted footrest and an adjustable and removable holder for a mobile phone or Go Pro camera. At both ends of the kayak there are also sturdy carrying handles, tethers and storage spaces for accessories or waterproof bags. The integrated high-pressure valves allow the boat to be inflated and deflated quickly.

I probably wouldn't have gotten this at full price. while on sale though it was only slightly more expensive than the Challenger. You get a lot more boat for the money at that price. It’s very stable, very comfortable, and quick to set up. Lots of extra accessories, including fishing rod holders. The one weird thing was that I bought two, but they came with different carrying cases. I thought it was a mistake but then when I looked at the box they actually had different types of cases listed. If you pick it up make sure you get the one with the portable kayak backpack listed, not the vinyl carrying case. While it is not a heavy kayak, the shoulder straps with the backpack still make it way easier. I can’t imagine why they don’t include the backpack with all of them. ... MoreI probably wouldn't have gotten this at full price. while on sale though it was only slightly more expensive than the Challenger. Great boat (to begin with) and have had some lovely days on them. Very pleased......until..... We Bought two and both only lasted two summers, both boats burst on the floor seams, cheap plastic build and difficult to seal. This is possibly due to rolling them out and putting away continuously. The Paddles are cheap and one snapped. The seats dont last long and leak air at the fold and then are useless so I replaced them all for better seats (right before the boats then burst). None of the above was down to misuse or punctures. Would like these to have lasted much longer than they did. INTEX = BUDGET

Exceptional inflatable kayaks.
1 September 2020

I purchased these inflatable kayaks for our glamping vacation in Maine. They were stable, sturdy and comfortable to handle on the lake. Inflation took a few tries with the first kayak, as we brought a hand held electric pump with us. The spring loaded air fill had to be moved to deflate position, then quickly moved to inflate position when chamber was blown up. After mastering it, second kayak took no time at all to inflate. Deflation was quick and easy. If you use the hand pump that comes with the kayaks, it will take a s bit longer to inflate, if you do not have access to electricity, and you would not have to move the valve, just insert the pump hose and pump it up, the hand pumps will do the job. Folding the kayaks back to how they were packaged, so we could get them comfortably in their carrying bags took a little practice on the first one, then the second one was a breeze. One of the kayaks was missing one fishing pole end cap that goes into the fishing pole holder in the boat. I contacted VM Express customer service and they will be sending me the missing part.I would highly recommend this product to friends and family.

Full of leaks. Badly constructed
1 August 2022

We have one of these kayaks. It is Full of pinhole Leaks in the floor seams. It appears the seam has not been constructed correctly. As soon as we fix one we find another. We only use the hand pump to inflate. We only use the hand pump to inflate it. We own a Innova inflatable kayak and have used that for years in lakes and oceans and it’s never needed a repair.

Great Inflatable

Very happy with this Inflatable, I've purchased a few inflatable kayaks over the years. For the price this is the best one I have so far. Second favorite to this is the Sea Eagle 2 Person. That is a great boat and if you need more room It's the way to go. How ever for 1 person this seams to be superior, but only time will tell. If the Sea Eagle had D Rings.. I'd rate them about the same, even tho this seams to be a stronger material. But I've had the Sea Eagle for a long time and it's been a very very good inflatable. Like any Inflatable Kayak The stock seats do not have enough support but you tie a rope to the D Rings and put your cooler behind you for back support and it's perfect!! Inflatable kayak definitely the way to go
29 June 2021

This is a very user friendly design. The kayak comes in a carry bag that easily holds all the parts including pump. Theres no struggle to make it all fit. The build is of high quality and good value for money. The easy to attach nozzle holds fast while you pump up the 3 sections in number order, inflate the seats and insert the foot rests. Paddles click together and your ready to go. Didnt time it but close to 15min once you know what your doing. Light weight and easy to manoeuvre. Felt completely safe and so far only used on a river but feel happy to take to coastal waters. Such joy at the end of the day to deflate, pack in the bag, throw in the trunk with no struggles to lift onto the roof rack.

OPEN BOX PURCHASE: Better than expected, but not without its problems...
16 July 2022

I am a wheelchair-bound amputee who has recently gotten into kayaking, but after purchasing a traditional sit-on kayak to go out with friends I realized I would never be able to go kayaking solo-style, due to that yak's 12' length and weight of around 85 pounds. So, with no other options for solo-day trips and wanting to be more active, I decided to buy a second inflatable kayak that I could take out on my own, without any assistance. After much research, I decided the Intex Excursion Pro was the perfect 'yak in my price range and ended up purchasing an open box from Ebay/Spreetail. I am sure it is going to be an easy fix and since everything else was in perfect, new/unused condition, so I won't be trying to exchange it; but I still have not gotten a chance to truly enjoy that kayak, until I can make the needed repairs.

Bought two of these, one came out of the box with a hole and couldn't hold air. Realized this on the maiden voyage while we were out camping. I attempted to patch the hole so we could use it only to learn that the required glue is not part of the patch kit. Not sure what the point of the patch kit is if I can't use it. The manual said I would have to purchase the glue separately from my local hardware store, not a lot of hardware stores in the middle of the bush. Will be returning both and getting something more durable.

good for it's purpose

the kayak is good tuff quality. it moves smoothly and maneuvers well. it does what it's designed for which is kayaking on open waters. if you want it for 2 people fishing i would look for something with more room. the rod holders interfere with paddling. and the seat backs provide little support if you're trying to sit back and relax. so for those 2 reasons i gave it 4 stars.
