This makes Zea mays (corn) starch an efficacious replacement in body/baby dusting and topical powders, cream powder, lotions, skin and hair masks, loose and compact makeup and bath salts. The next listed ingredient is Tricalcium Phosphate. This is not a good option for people with kidney disease. When a person has kidney disease, their kidneys are unable to remove phosphorus effectively. This is important because high levels of phosphorus can affect the levels of calcium in the body, sometimes, making bones brittle and weak. Tricalcium phosphate is used in powdered spices as an anticaking agent, e.g. to prevent table salt from caking. The calcium phosphates have been assigned European food additive number E341. In some cases it can be irritating to the skin, cause irritation in the respiratory system leading to more urgent health concerns. It is Listed in the Hazardous Chemical Database. This ingredient is the touted ingredient in many of the talc-free body powders. Ingredient #3 is fragrance. It is not natural-derived ingredient meaning it is synthetic. I could not find anything on thier site to expound on the ingredient. Ingredient #4 is aloe barbadens leaf extract. The extract coming from the juice containing leaves of the Aloe vera plant. It's usually a hydroglycolic extract (though oil extract for the lipid parts also exists) that has similar moisturizing, emollient and anti-inflammatory properties as the juice itself. Last listed ingredient is Tocopheryl Acetate. Tocopheryl acetate is a specific type of vitamin E, in a class of organic chemical compounds known as tocopherols. These compounds are considered fat-soluble antioxidants, but are also said to have many other functions in the body. Tocopheryl acetate is “A natural tocopherol and one of the most potent antioxidant tocopherols,” according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s publication, “PubChem.” The antioxidants in vitamin E are known to protect the cell from damage that naturally occurs from free radicals. These free radicals are formed in the body during normal processes (such as energy production). Other free radicals come from various sources, like radiation from X-rays, air pollution, smoking, and industrial chemicals. So, vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate) goes to work acting as an antioxidant to protect the cells and DNA, promoting cellular health. Because vitamin E is fat-soluble, this means that it can stop the production of free radicals formed when the body breaks down fat for energy. I am not bad-mouthing the product. I am raising awareness to the ingredients so individuals may make the conscious and educated decision to continue to use it. I will be discontinuing the use of this product personally. I used this product for several years and I feel there are safe choices out there. I would suggest what I freshly switched to. It is a bit more pricey but for the health conscience people, it is worth it. EraOrganics talc free baby powder is what I have used since discovering the harmful ingredients in Johnson and Johnson products.

We still use this baby powder everyday for one reason or another. Johnson's has always been our go to for baby powder. It is gentle on skin and washes off easily enough. I like it's delicate scent and feel on the skin. It provides comfort and protection and odour control. We like that it protects against chafing and an added bonus, it even freshens up shoe odour. It used to be Canadian made .#influenster #voxbox #skincare #wellness #freshness #canada #comfort #protection #family #babiesandchildren #newmommusthaves

My baby did not have sensitive skin. I could put her in any diaper and use any kind of wipe. I wanted to stay away from this product after hearing the connections to cancer, but it was gifted to me by my mother-in-law and I used it just to be polite. It turned my baby bright red and she was screaming. It took a few weeks to go away too. I got rid of it quick. After that negative experience I chose not powder my second baby at all and just allow him to air dry.

I would not recommend Johnson's Baby Powder or any other products from the Johnson Johnson company. The reason for this is that the company has been facing multiple lawsuits due to asbestos found in their baby powder. Asbestos is a known carcinogen and has been linked to various types of cancer, including mesothelioma. The company has recently settled thousands of lawsuits for billions of dollars for this issue. This raises serious concerns about the safety and trustworthiness of the brand. Furthermore, the FDA have also found small amounts of asbestos in samples of Johnson's talc-based powders and the company has stopped the production of talc-based baby powder in the USA and Canada. I Love Johnson's Baby Powder for 2 reasons.. Not for what you may think. I have no babies anymore, they're 13 and 11 (but it was very Nostalgic).. I have quite big thighs, and I used it on the inner thighs to stop them sweating and rubbing. It was great, especially with the warm weather we've had. They were not sore at the end of the day and I didn't worry about becoming sweaty/smelly so it was good for my peace of mind too. The best thing about Johnson's Baby Powder though has to be the ability to act as a dry shampoo! As soon as the roots became slightly greasy, I would shake a little on, give it a rub with the tips of my fingers then brush it through and just like magic, my hair was good to go for at least another 2 days without washing. FABULOUS when you're busy and rushing around 24/7. It also left my hair feeling soft and smooth and had the freshest scent that I could smell all day. This is by far the best baby powder. It has multi uses and smells like fresh new babies. Perfect
We have always used Johnson's baby powder for all the babies in the family. I remember we had bought it for my nephew also, and then for my daughter and now for my son. It's safe to use and smells good. My son loves it. Especially during summer keeps them cool. Just put the powder after bath time and during sleep time, and they will feel good. I have sensitive skin so waxing could breakdown easily if I wasn’t to it right. First, I exfoliation the sugar scrub and raise it well with water then applied Johnson baby power and quickly massaged, after it well then applies the wax. My skin never has any burns, itching, and beyond. Highly recommend this product.
I've used Johnson's baby powder (JBP) (cornstarch)my entire life --as did my mom-- and I've used it on my kids as well. I'd never had a problem with it UNTIL this past year.I've always been a very big girl/woman so JBP has forever been a mainstay in my hygiene practices. I just had my second child in January 2018 (oldest is 12) and of course I used JBP with her first diaper change, as with each one until she was about a month old.I changed her frequently, cleaned and dried her well, and always used JBP as I did with my oldest. But she began developing an irritation or rash where it looked as though the skin was peeling, from front to back and halfway down her thighs. But she began developing an irritation or rash where it looked as though the skin was peeling, from front to back and halfway down her thighs. I tried using different wipes, creams, ointments, soaps, and even diapers, but it would not let up. Never did I imagine it could have been the powder that caused it.At her 1-month checkup we saw a different doctor than usual who said to stop using powder immediately (citing risk to lungs) and prescribed an antibacterial ointment for the rash. I thought both of those things to be weird/overbearing but I stopped using powder with her very next change just for the heck of it and waited on the ointment. As soon as I stopped using the powder (using only A&D ointment instead) the rash began to clear and heal. It got better and better and healed completely after about a month. It took another month for the skin discoloration to change (she has medium complexion and the rash was white/pink).Still, I thought maybe SHE was just sensitive to it and a couple months later I used it (a brand new bottle) on my own genital area for two days until I started getting the same irritation. It itched like crazy and the skin began peeling. I threw it away and I'll never buy it again. There are other brands out there but I've learned to live without powder completely.

It soothed cracked and rough skin, while I served many decades ago, as an Infantry troop in Viet Nam. It was the first thing I packed in my pack on long hikes on the Appalachian Trail. It soothed tender skin as I dressed for the rigors of daily life on an Island some 38 miles from Siberia in the North Bering Sea, and also while living, working and traveling around the surrounding regions of the Norton Sound area of Northwest Alaska. Each day after showering and readying for my work a day world back in the USA Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder is at arm’s length each morning. Initially, I thought that I might being making an overstatement in applying a line most associated with science; but Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder is “simple but elegant”. Yet, a long experience and uninterrupted satisfaction does make the simple phrase most appropriate. Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder is “simple but elegant”.
I am an adult having used this product for years. It was the only one I could use without an allergic reaction & loved it. Now all that has changed. The product is now made in Thailand, the cornstarch seeming to be either an inferior quality or is not refined properly. Also with the new designed cap no matter how tiny you make the holes it spews & I need a mask to not breathe any in. It’s supposed to be hypoallergenic however the fragrance is overpowering. Not at all the same product I’ve used for so long. I would never use this corn starch on a baby or child in my family. It’s just terrible & unfortunately I’ve stocked up on it prior to using. VERY disappointed with J & J.
The powder quality itself is good. Doesn't feel chalky, and feels smooth on the skin. BUT, this powder has a weird smell to it. It doesn't smell like normal baby powder at all. I can't place what the smell is, but it's faintly chemical, like the stuff they use to clean medical facilities. Also, why doesn't J&J sell a fragrance-free baby powder?! Every single baby powder of theirs has some sort of fragrance!
