Joico Defy Damage Protective Conditioner 250 ml

I love this conditioner. I use this and the shampoo when I shampoo. I wash my hair once a week, and my hair never feels greasy or weighed down. It’s not heavy but hydrating. My hair is over processed because I’m so blonde and my hair neither looks or feels like it in anyway! I’m obsessed. If I use a different shampoo my hair is frizzy, tangly and looks damaged. Also, the smell is SO good! I’ve been on this train since they came out with it in the beginning of my career and I haven’t changed since! I put all my blondes on it!

Does what it says

I highlight my hair about every three months so it's not too chemically damaged but the hard water in Southern California has left my hair dry, dull, frizzy and unmanageable. I've tried SO MANY deep conditioners, hair masks etc and none of them did a thing to improve texture & appearance. This conditioner helped to remove some of the mineral buildup which did brighten my highlights a bit, but most importantly it left my hair far more silky and healthy feeling/looking. I could see where this product might not work for you if your main problem is chemical damage but if you think hard water is the cause of your hair woes you should definitely give this a try.

Great line and smells nice!

My hairdresser has always been an advocate of Joico and I've used many of their products (all of which I've really liked). One that I can't use often is the moisture line - it's just too heavy for my fine hair. My hairdresser mentioned that they created a new moisture line but for finer hair (this product - HydraSplash). First of all - let me say that it smells SO GOOD. It just has a very simple, clean scent and it is not overwhelming. The conditioner had a nice consistency that made me feel confident that once rinsed and styled that my hair wouldn't feel weighed down. I paired with the matching shampoo and leave in cream, which all left my hair feeling moisturized, soft, and very manageable. I would highly recommend!

Hair loss ???

I've been trying to find the best hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Tried this one from the great things my coworkers at ulta said about it. However i felt like it was causing extreme hair loss. Around where my baby hairs used to be is nothing, and i feel like my hair line is receding after using the matching shampoo and conditioner for about a month. I am only 22 and feel like i should not be experiencing this much hair loss. My hair feels soft for about a day and then it's straight oily. Overall Joico isn't all it's hyped up to be and i would not recommend it.

My hair is overall pretty healthy; I was drawn to this product more for preventing damage since I've been heat styling it a little more lately. The shampoo from this line is probably not a good fit for me (since I don't like silicone in shampoo because it irritates my scalp). But the conditioner is ok. It has a thick creamy texture and seems decent for detangling, but it's not life changing or anything. (Again, my hair is mostly healthy, fine, and straight, so I think I'm not the ideal hair type for this line.) I do have to take extra time to make sure it's very thoroughly rinsed, or else my hair gets grungy. The scent in both products is strong and very floral. Love It

So I was looking for something to restore my hair after years of chemical damage from bleaching and just overall dryness but I couldn't afford the holy grail Olaplex. I saw the Joico sale so I tried the defy damage line and I am soo glad I did!!! My package arrived yesterday I used the shampoo & conditioner once and I'm shocked. My hair is extremely soft and hydrated!!! I only use professional salon products and I am very impressed with Joico all the way around. Also I read reviews saying this stuff smells bad. highly disagree. My hair smells freakin delicious, I'm in love and a customer for life. Thank Youu Joico ♡ xo

Love! Better than their purple IMO❣️

I Love this!- This is a thicker product, perfect for drier or corse hair.I have thick, coarse hair that's died blonde and have natural red undertones. I prefer this over their conditioner. My daughter has thinner, more oil prone hair and would prefer the conditioner rather than this masque.- This is not a purple product.Honestly, I have no idea how it works but having used high end to cheaper purple wash/condition products this product is far, far from drying and intensely moisturizing.As for the color results: It's not going to turn your hair white if you leave it in like some purple products do- it's not that strong but it does brighten. My hair feels better- obviously- but it also does the trick for me.If you're a white or a gray/silver and are looking to stay I'm not sure this product would be what you'd expect. But if you're warm, neutral blonde - this product is excellent!-- as with ANY product- I do have to switch it up after a while to maintain the deep conditioning this product provides. If you have thinner hair or trouble with oil you may want to try their conditioner. If you're coarse and unruly like me- this is great. I still use a spray after shower like it's a 10, living proof phd/purple moose or redkins no frizz leave in product.I also love their kpak- but otherwise have not had the same great results with the rest of their line of products.

Smells and feels amazing on my hair

I first heard of this brand from my hairdresser who uses the best shampoos and conditioners every time I get my hair cut. It took me a while to finish my liter bottle of Wella conditioner for coarse hair. I finally got to buy this and try it a few times. My hair is coarse, thick and I have a lot of it. This conditioner works so well for me. I also color my hair which warrants good hair care products. I'm very happy with this and it's my new favorite conditioner. The Wella Invigo brilliance conditioner has now dropped to number 2.

Soft Manageable Hair Without Being Heavy

I really like this conditioner because it makes my hair shiny, detangles, and smoothes the cuticle. I normally have to put a leave-in after drying to keep my hair from frizzing, but this actually does a pretty good job for casual day to day. Works better not paired with the shampoo

So when I tried out this product I used it in conjunction with the shampoo and that was a huge mistake. I had the weirdest hair texture ever. Very dry, frizzy, but also felt coated in wax and was heavy. After one use I stayed away from it. It was still in the shower because I figured maybe someone else would use it and it would work for them. Though I ended up using just the conditioner itself recently and I was surprised that my hair actually felt a little soft and wasn't how it was when used with the shampoo. So it's probably the shampoo that's the one to stay away from. Will I buy it again? Probably not as I've been having problems with a lot of hair brands lately due to undisclosed formula changes probably due to difficulties in getting ingredients.
