As a huge fan of “Not A Perfume” from Juliette Has a Gun, I was absolutely thrilled when I received this box - and it’s a full size! First off, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous - it looks just like a fiery sunset and reflects light beautifully. It makes my dresser look a lot more luxurious! I’m suddenly transported to a luxurious beachside cocktail bar on a hot summer night. It’s musky, elegant, and sultry - it makes me want to party the night away in Cabo or Ibiza. Though it doesn’t have the longest lasting power on me (4 to 5 hours), I am addicted to this scent and can’t wait to keep wearing it throughout the summer.

Which it is still smells nice and it lasts all day i just feel like it’s more of a Spring scent than a Summer scent. I will still wear it and it has also made me want to try their other perfumes! I definitely recommend for anyone who likes strong floral scents (it reminds me of gardenia’s) but anyone looking for coconut or vanilla as the main scents they need to look elsewhere.

If you love Monoi...

You will love this if you love Monoi! Check the fragrance notes on Fragrantica and these are basically the exact same to Terracotta by Guerlain and Monoi by Yves Rocher. I on the other hand love sweet scents and I'm a huge fan of coconut but this does not give that sweet coconut vibe (and neither does Monoi). Monoi leans way heavier on the white florals than the coconut. It's like coconut is the carrier oil for the flowers. This JHAG scent lasts a LONG time, I'm talking the entire day long. The scent does start out predominantly floral but calms down to a nice beachy floral vibe. It's a pretty floral scent with coconut humming in the background. Even though I wish it was more of a sweet coconut scent, this is still a nice scent for the summer.

The smell is strong in the sense that it only takes one or two sprays to really mesh with your body and it holds that scent for many hours. Which means this bottle is going to last me quite awhile. It’s a really complex/ unique scent— it’s tropical but yet it’s floral, it’s musky, it’s warm. I love it. There’s hints of vanilla notes as well as coconut. It’s not like a perfume I’ve smelt before. I sprayed it on when I received it and got SO many compliments. You really only need one or two squirts - the scent is strong and lasts a long time. Luckily, Lust for Sun sits true on my skin. It is very ylang-ylang and monoi (Tiare, or for us mainlanders, Tahitian gardenia)-forward with subtle coconut. After a day of wear, the sweetness of the coconut is a bit more pronounced, but this isn’t going to smell like tanning oil. It’s a youthful, super playful floral fragrance. It’s not as edgy as some of the other JHAG fragrances, but I think it’s a perfect complement. It’s perfect for a sundress and woven sandals, or as the finishing touch with your cover-up.
