A great addition to the cooking experience, for getting a perfect sear on burgers, steaks, etc.. However as this is made of cast iron, you will need to season it several times before it’s ready for use, to get a non stick surface. Finally, to maintain that seasoning you worked so hard to create, do not leave your cast iron outdoors, it will rust.

Really good quality and works perfectly. The only down side is that they do not come pre-seasoned. Kamado Joe recommend doing this process twice before initial use which takes a couple of days due to the cooling down time of a Joe. Due to their size they can't be seasoned on a domestic oven.

Bought this product a few weeks ago. Fantastic for smash burgers, bacon, and veggies. Couldn't be happier. I was surprised to see it come straight out of the box with a great seasoning already on it. Really like that it comes with a tool to move the griddle, and the fact that the edges are raised around the sides.

I like the option of using this to avoid the loss of juices and it is high quality. My main critique is that because there is no lip on one side, you can lose juices out that side. I put butter on the griddle and it just slid right off into the fire since my grill isn’t perfectly level (which many are not). It could also used improved care instructions to describe in more detail how to care for and store (including temp) the griddle on an ongoing basis for those that don’t work with cast iron often.
Perfect for frying, cooking veggies on, and for a sausage sizzle. Much cheaper than the soapstone plate.

Used it last night! Set it over one deflector plate on first level, cooked steaks on steel grill level 3 and seared later on griddle ! Perfect results first time!
This is an excellent accessory to pair with your Big Joe, I use mine as often as I do my cast iron skillet indoors. I've opened up a whole new dimension of cooking with the griddle plate; diner style smashburgers, hibachi style cooking, and don't forget breakfast on the Joe! Bacon cooks in about 90 seconds on the griddle plate and no smell in the house! I highly recommend getting this if you're a Kamado Joe owner.
I bought it on sale on don't regret the purchase. I use the flat side for cooking food that might fall through the slats of a grate. I've cooked smoked fish and shrimp on it with no issues
This is great for most cooks. Anything greasy will end up in the bottom of your JOE!
