This wok is next level. I previously used a carbon steel wok which seemed like it was good quality but was no comparison with how well the Ken Hom wok cooks the food. Worth the extra money for far better results.

Great quality wok. Provided it is cared for properly, should last many years. Feels really solid and we'll made.

Someone else left a one star review for this item, I can only imagine they should have bought a teflon coated wok for their needs. Carbon steel woks do require some specific treatment, it's not difficult but please watch some YouTube videos about the different types of wok before you mistreat a carbon steel wok and then complain about rust and food sticking. Carbon steel woks are the real deal, what all real Asian cooks use. But they must be "seasoned" before use and properly dried and wiped with oil after every use. Never use detergent to clean a carbon steel wok, only hot water and a brush or sponge scourer. They actually wash really easily with water alone as they get more and more non stick over time as the charred oil residue builds from use. Great authentic wok. If you’re not willing to put a little research into how to season it properly, maybe stick to scanpan ;-) mine arrived w a small dent, a bit annoying but cbf’d returning it.

Great wok, and seasoning is easy done!
10 August 2022

This was my first investment into a carbon steel wok, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect - especially in terms of seasoning it! But now I use my wok a couple of times every week and I love how it gets better with each use. The seasoning truly forms a non-stick layer. It gets very hot super quick and is great for stir fries and curries. My advice is to season it again after each use. It only takes a couple of minutes:* Use only a little bit of oil* Wipe the oil on the sides with tissue paper as it heats up* Wait for the oil to start smoking, and then wipe the inside clean with more tissue paper.

Wok hei! Great Chinese wok

Wok hei! Great Chinese wok. Wanted to try traditional wok cooking and it's turned out really well. A must have for fried noodles. Remember to save fat drippings for your wok cooking. Pork fat works the best

achieved non stick properties after one month
5 May 2021

I bought this carbon steel wok back in 2019 and followed the utube tutorial of how to season the wok, perfect. I use it for almost everything that requires browning. From stir fries to fried eggs, brown mince meat to searing steaks, I love this product. The only downfall is the smallish flat cooking surface area. I wanted a carbon steel that i can do almost anything with it. Maybe I should have bought the largest size 36cm, I bought the 31cm wide. Also note that my hubby finds it difficult to use it because he is cared to maintain it from not rusting.
