Brought this wok thinking it would be of good quality considering it’s Ken’s name on it. I’ve used it on a brand new hob twice - it has all buckled and glowed bright red when using it. I suppose it’s too late to take it back as I brought it two months ago and I’ve been busy moving into a new house. It’s clearly unsafe and not fit for purpose. Buyer beware.

I have purchased two of these and both are absolutely awful. Non stick is a joke completely unfit for purpose. Comes off after one use using silicone utensils and then you are unable to use again due to the coating sticking to your food. Will never purchase anything from the brand again.

I have had a Scanpan non stick wok for 16 years and when ready for a new one, I saw this one and read the reviews. When I received it I liked the fact that it was light weight and sturdy looking.Unfortunately, only on it's third use, I was making chow mein and using it at a medium heat on a wok burner. The noodles stuck to the bottom and were very difficult to move with my wooden spatula. Even after soaking in warm soapy water, the bottom of the wok is visibly damaged. I was very surprised after having cooked this dish numerous times in my previous wok.5 stars to the lovely staff in Myer Geelong who sorted the return for me.

We bought this from my local John Lewis store a couple of years back. I recall the very first time I used it that the non-stick properties were poor. We put olive oil in the pan and heated it through before adding ingredients, but near enough immediately the ingredients started to stick to the base. After cooking we tried to clean it, but it had marked the pan and it was virtually impossible to remove the marks. We've tried scrubbing it, putting it through the dishwasher but we haven't ever been able to fully 'clean' it again. It's got worse and worse, and after the last attempt to use it the ingredients have pretty much fused to it! I soaked it twice with really hot water and fairy liquid. Went at it with a scrubbing brush but wasn't able to get it looking that great, so it's found its new home in the bin. Next time I'll be buying the le cruset one. Would not recommend this product.
I got this in passing because it was the perfect size for a family of 5, and seemed to be a good make. The coating started to flake off second use despite washing as per instructions and not using metal utensils. Deeply disappointing. Would have returned, but store not close
I loved the look of this wok as soon as I saw it. From its description, it seemed perfect, durable, the right size and easily cleaned.Whilst it specified to preferably avoid metal utensils on its surface, it didn't say specifically avoid. However, despite NOT using metal, I've noticed scratching and lifting of the coating even using plastic and wooden utensils. This isn't really good enough. The pan will not last long if it is as delicate as this. After three weeks use, there are several chips on its surface.
At first sight, an unlikely buy due to its novelty size, but with certain ideas in mind, this purchase confirmed that size can make a difference. Deep frying and cooking certain Oriental foods, requires hot oil for small items done in batches to be scooped up by strainers. This wok requires less oil than a deep sauce/frying pan and allows mobility/motion of items cooked. It is actually most practical and now an essential kitchen utensil. The non stick property which on high carbon steel has never really worked for me creates areas which with high heat frying, inevitably causes sugary bits turning into sticky bits before becoming crispy burnt food and becomes a Does-Stick Pan.As a stir fry wok, it is too small for my needs but for particular types of cooking and ... MoreAt first sight, an unlikely buy due to its novelty size, but with certain ideas in mind, this purchase confirmed that size can make a difference. Unstable from day one and tipped dangerously onto its side. Non stick coating started to peel off after 3/4 uses. Worst wok ever!!!!Wish had read reviews before purchasingThought Ken Hom indicated a quality product.Shame on JL for continuing to sell such a poor quality product after receiving so many bad reviews. Unable to return as local JL now closed.
Sorry to give it one star. Having only used this wok a few times after purchasing this at Christmas,I'm now having to return this wok as soon I can to the store. The wok has lost it's nonstick finish and the coating is coming off inside the bottom of the pan, and has a unpleasant smell when heated up.I'm expecting to get a full refund so I can purchase a replacement wok in store.
Really dreadful wok. Worst I've ever had. Non stick is a joke, we've used it a handful of times and it's only fit for the bin. Shameful waste of money and resources. Please don't buy it. Please Dunelm stop stocking it! I hope Ken Hom reads this!
