Kerastase Resistance Bain Extentioniste Strengthening Shampoo 250 ml

I’ve been using this shampoo for maybe 3 years now and I have nothing to say but good things. I have fine, straight hair. My scalp normally gets oily by day 2 and I have dry ends. I get my hair highlighted regularly. This shampoo helps my hair stay strong through chemical processes, and I’ve noticed that my hair seems a bit thicker. When I use this shampoo, I can go up to 4 days without feeling gross.

Amazing results, a MUST BUY!

Recently purchased this set after researching and reading many reviews online. I have history of using what are considered the top rated hair product lines in the industry and can be a bit picky when it comes to giving my hair TLC. I am a dark brunette who has fine, but alot of healthy hair. I recently decided to have some ombre highlights added. The pieces highlight accepted the lightening process but now those pieces are dry, dull, and breaking off in some places! I have used the products one time and I am blown away already! My hair looks and feels amazing and the damaged parts of it look SO MUCH BETTER!!!! I can't wait to see the results after continued use. My hair looks like glass and feels hydrated. A must buy ladies!

Arrived frozen solid

The entire purchase including these products and totaling more than $200 arrived frozen solid. I have no idea if this impacted the product and its effectiveness. Very disappointed. I tried calling Kérastase and was placed on hold 3 times with no answer and emails lack a response. This review is the only means of outreach I have. I have used the Kerastase line for decades and have no complaints except poor customer service around my recent purchase and a box of products that I cannot use because I’m not sure of the impact of a previously frozen solid product on my hair.

Drastically improved my hair

I have long, fine hair that has suffered with thinning patches over the years due to stress. My mum was recommended the Kerastase Extensioniste range by her hairdresser and suggested that I started to use them. They have drastically improved the quality, strength and healthiness of my hair and stopped the ends from looking so dry. My split ends have also improved through using the heat protectant, combined with sleeping in a protective hairstyle (plaits) overnight.

Great scent!

I am new to Kerastase products. So far, I am very pleased with the products I've used. I just purchased this product, so will keep you posted on results after a while of using. The scent is really nice (in fact I love it). My only complain, is that the shampoo feels just a tad bit "heavy" for my hair type. Maybe my hair just needs to get used to it? Not such a big deal yet... Gonna keep using it to see if any of that changes.

Love Kerastase products, prefer Bain Therapiste

I have only been using Kerastase products exclusively for 2 weeks, but have since built a small collection since my first purchase. My hair is long, thick, medium-texured, wavy-curly, color-treated and Balayage-highlighted. Most of my hair is fairly healthy, but the highlighted areas tend to be dry with some split-ends.My very first purchase with Kerastase ruined me (in a good way). Then, after doing some research, I thought that maybe I should pair the Bain Extentioniste Shampoo with the Fondant conditioner or extentioniste hair mask (which I later purchased). I took the online diagnostic tool test again providing the same information, but including the desire for longer hair -- it recommended the Bain Extentioniste shampoo, Fondant Exentionise conditioner, etc. Well, my experience with the Bain Extenioniste shampoo was just okay, I probably wouldn't buy it again.Process: Upon opening, I noticed that the product was clear (not creamy like the Bain Therapiste). The smell was pleasant, but not as great as the other products. I used a quarter sized amount to my scalp, then another quarter sized amount through my lengths (second wash) and lathered them both in. I noticed that this product builds up a big lather (very sudsy), unlike the creamy Therapiste. After shampooing I combed my hair before conditioning and noticed my hair didn't tangle (very good!). Then, I conditioned with the Extentioniste mask (not to be confused with the Fondant conditioner) and then after towel-drying, I applied a hazelnut sized amount of the ciment thermique (which I love). When blow-drying, I noticed my hair was very dry and frizzy. First, I blamed the mask, but then questioned the shampoo. I had plenty of Kerastase styling products to soften my hair, but it wasn't the same as the glossy, smooth locks that the Bain Therapiste shampoo left me with. So, then, a day later I experimented with a different combo: Bain Extentioniste shampoo with the Fondant Extentioniste conditioner + ciment thermique -- this combo gave me a better result, but my hair was still slightly dry, but definitely much smoother. Then, I tried another combo (the Therapiste shampoo with the exentioniste mask -- final result gave me glossy locks). I concluded that maybe my balayage highlights don't respond well to the shampoo, or the shampoo is high in sulfates which left me with a dry hair result reminiscent of the cheaper shampoos you can buy anywhere. This afternoon, I went back to my original Therapiste shampoo and Fondant conditioner combo that I loved so much, and surprise, surprise...I have another glossy-locks, magazine-ready Brazilian blow-out salon experience in my bathroom!Conclusion: I think I am going to stick with the Bain Therapiste shampoo. While the Bain Extentioniste might work better for other hair types, I don't think it serves those with highlighted hair well. I would recommend this to friends who don't have highlighted hair or overly processed hair, or this shampoo might work those with more oily hair types. While I have given stellar 5 star reviews on practically every Kerastase product, this one only gets 4 stars. It's still a good shampoo, but it just didn't "wow" me. Going to return this back and hope they can exchange with a bottle of my favorite Bain Therapiste shampoo.

Saved my hair

I also think colour was left on too long in a salon. My hair felt brittle, dry and rough. So much breakage near the top.I cut my hair to a short bob and started using good kerestase products.I started with level 4 extenionist, shampoo, conditioner, masque.And the cement heat protection every time any heat was near my hair.This really paid off, my hair is now down to my mid chest, I have smooth healthy shiny hair, even though it's highlighted.I didn't believe that investing in my hair products mattered. Smells AMAZING!!!

I bought this a couple of weeks ago after using the genesis line (which is also amazing) and I LOVE IT!!! It smells SO good!!! I switched products because I am focusing more on growing my hair now and it seems that this is the best line to use. I love the pump! It makes it so easy and quick to use. I also got the newer blow dry cream with this line and I love it! I don’t have the conditioner yet. That will be my next purchase. I have thin, fine hair and recently went through head and neck radiation therapy and these products have been amazing! They somehow don’t weigh my hair down which is hard to do with the way my hair is. This shampoo also got rid of some itchy scalp I was having. I highly recommend it.

Why does this contain sulfates??

I am disappointed with this shampoo.This is my first time to use Kerastase products. I have been using Aveda and Kevin Murphy over the past year after a stylist botched a balayage and over processed my hair, leaving it brittle and almost impossible to brush.I took the offered quiz and this routine was recommended for my hair. I was surprised when the shampoo was clear, as all conditioning shampoos I have used for damaged hair have been opaque and creamy, highlighting their moisturizing properties.After rinsing out the shampoo, my hair was a tangled mess! I looked at the back of the bottle and sure enough, sodium laureth sulfate is a top ingredient.Pros: the smell is lovely. Works Best with Full Extentioniste Line

I have used this product for at least a year, but not in a complete routine until 4 months ago. By itself, it is okay, but I saw no results. Adding the extentioniste thermique, I saw improvement. When I started using the extentioniste masque, versus the extentioniste conditioner, I started liking the product. Now that I have a routine, I am truly seeing results. I have thick, naturally curly hair which is cut in layers/highlighted every 8 weeks, and I typically blow dry straight with a round brush. I have seen improvement in overall health and shine, and recently, have seen exceptional increase in growth. I then rinse, towel dry, apply the extentioniste serum, massage in, and then apply the extentioniste thermique (I may or may not blow dry at this point). This seems extensive, but I have noticed by doing this routine, I now only have to wash my hair (and do the process) on Sundays and Wednesdays, without any need for dry shampoo. 2020 was enough to make me realize this investment in myself is truly worth it—and is actually cheaper than the years of neglect and throwing fixes at my neglected hair (expecting miracles of my stylist every 8 weeks). I look great year round, and am protecting the investment I make every time I go to my stylist. This is the longest review I have ever written.
