And after putting it on my hands I noticed they were slightly itchy. So I made sure to check the ingredient list before use and sure enough, there wasn't just one type of lavender, but three. So I will be passing this along to someone who doesn't have a fragrance allergy. Since I did use some on my hands, I can talk about the texture. It is #texturetuesday after all. So if you are a big K Beauty lover, and have had cloud creams before, you are going to be really disappointed by this very misleading name. But if you are just a Kiehl's fan and looking to try something new, then you might be delighted by it's rich creamy texture.

This is a very thick, super moisturizing cream. Directions say to use a pea size amount. That’s about what I used. I’ve been using this for 3+ weeks. It’s a little thick to spread easily so I always used it on damp skin (use should do that with moisturizers anyway) and/or or sprayed with thermal water to make it a runnier consistency. It’s a whipped consistency, but still thick, if that makes sense. A few of the nights, randomly, I did feel a tingling sensation. This has essential oils and I do have rosacea, but I didn’t have any reaction to it. It reminds me a lot of the Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Repair Cream except this has a lavender scent, (soothing to me) and has a different texture. I can see this being reactive for people that are VERY sensitive to fragrance/oils, so I give it a 4, but I didn’t have that problem myself. I highly recommend trying this.

A Nice Botanical Based Cream

I love a rich & soft cream during the Winter, but, not so much in the Summer…right now, it’s currently right in the middle of Summer so this could’ve went either way. Luckily, I ended up enjoying this Cream. I’m already very familiar with the brand, Kiehl’s and their products as I’ve tried many and already have a few incorporated into my day/night routines. This Midnight Recovery Omega-Rich Cloud Cream didn’t disappoint, but….it also didn’t “wow” me in the sense it is what I would label as a “Holy Grail”. This formula contains both Linalool (which could potentially cause irritation overtime as the ingredient can oxidize after opening the cream repeatedly), Citronellol & Citral (one of 26 fragrances in the EU that must be labeled separately instead of being labeled “fragrance/perfume” due to the potential of a negative reaction occurring for those who may have sensitive skin) so it does have a fragrance/scent that some may find irritating at first, luckily the scent does fade & its at a nice ratio that you don’t cough up a lung from the concentration. The light blue tone with the whipped texture had me sold as soon as I opened this. The richness of the Cream was nicely balanced with the whipped texture, my hair wasn’t getting stuck to the side of my face regardless of what the humidity level was at. Has a bit of an oily undertone, however, didn’t leave behind that “glossy” look. Applying is easy without any resistance. I preferred rubbing this cream between my fingers before actually applying to thin out the format just a bit then going over it with a heating device right before it was absorbed. After repeated use I could definitely see a difference in the overall tone of my skin, was a lot softer & even. No irritation of any kind. Would purchase mainly due to the cream maintaining the moisture barrier and the nourishment provided. No need to follow up with an overnight mask after using this cream.

My favorite nights to use the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Omega-Rich Cloud Cream are when my skin needs some calming & nourishing TLC. Whether you've overdone it with chemical exfoliants or you forgot to reapply your SPF, this overnight moisturizer has your back! This beautiful baby blue colored cream feels lightweight with its cloud-like whipped texture & absorbs easily. It is made with moisturizing botanicals infused with Omega 3 & 6 Oils & Fatty Acids that'll gently repair & rejuvenate your skin over night, while the natural scent of lavender lulls you to sleep. I like to mix a couple drops of their recovery oil just because I like it so much & my dry, dehydrated skin can handle it.

Sad it's not a total winner

I honestly thought I was going to be amazed by this cream because Kiehl's is such a great brand with quality products. The first thing that struck me is the citronella scent. (The scent used in most bug repellents.) For an overnight face cream this is not the soft, gentle, and clean scent I am looking for. Hoping to reap the benefits come morning anyway, I slathered it on. It had to be "slathered" because it soaked right in everytime I put a layer on. But maybe not because the scent won't have changed.

The perfect summer PM cream

It’s summer and it’s too hot for a super heavy nighttime face cream, even on my dry skin. So I was excited when Kiehl’s and Buzzagent gifted me the Midnight Recovery Omega Rich Cream in exchange for my honest review. The light, whipped texture of this cream seemed like the perfect summer PM moisturizer. After using it for 2 weeks I can say I’m impressed. It’s goes on silky smooth and soaks in immediately without leaving my skin feeling weighed down. It contains squalane, an ingredient I’ve fallen in love with lately for its hydration properties. That may be why I woke up every morning with plump, radiant skin ready to start the day. I had no issues with breakouts and was able to apply it over my tretinoin with no problems.
