KitchenAid 1.5 L Pro Line Series Electric Kettle - KEK1522

I love being in kitchen, and everything what is connected to kitchen, of course this feeling starts with appliances. My fav brand of kitchen techniques is KitchenAid, i have a lot of products of it (almost everything what this brand has) love everything, but The most used thing is this electric kettle, we are using it almost 20-25 times per day, it boils so quickly, and has enough capacity to make 5-6 cup of tea at the same time. It is very important that this kettle has temperature control button, you can find you need to re-boil water or just use it. I totally recommend it!

Saw the proline series at The Bay after seeing them online. My small town does not have any stores to look at them in person so I had to see them in Ottawa. I like to see in person before I buy anything. Well, I saw that Kitchenaid had a father’s day sale, so I bought this kettle then. I’m kicking my butt for not buying the pro line toaster at the same time, because when I went back to order it during the same sale, the black was sold out... you snooze you lose! Anyway, I love this kettle! The look of it to me has a vintage vibe with a modern led light twist on the base of this kettle. I love the fact that I can control the temperature of the water. I should mention that it’s cool enough to touch the outside of the pot, even after the water has been boiled, and the pouring of the water is fantastic too...no dripping back! When I first got it out of the box, I thought it was broken, because the lid wouldn’t pop up. Not the case; the lid just needed a little help to unseal the first time with my fingernail, since it was packed in into its box nice and tight. The side “window” where you see the measurements for the water stays moist for a long enough time. That might cause some build-up over time I’m thinking... I hope not, but we shall see. The only thing I can think of to make this kettle better, would be to have the cord retract into the base some how? It’s a big heavy duty cord, so I’m not sure how they could make that happen, but at least most of it tucks away under the base. (I don’t keep things plugged in) I get so many compliments on this kettle from friends and family. It also looks great next to my Kitchenaid mixer as well. If you have been thinking about buying it, go ahead and treat yourself! It’s definitely a high quality product that I’m sure you’re going to love for a very long time.

2 Kettles bought, Both bases work, 1 kettle broke

These 2 kettles were purchased over 5 years ago. I am the new House and Events Mgr for an Event site in Napa CA. I just opened the original shipped box, in this box was 2 brand new, unopened kettles-Yippee! I hold public and private teas, and many other culinary/wine events, at my work place, and I was very excited to add the newest KitchenAid appliance to all the other top of the line appliances I use regularly. Unfortunately, one of the kettles does not work. The 2 bases & 1 kettle works perfectly. I have tried for 3 hours to reach customer service, no luck!If someone from KitchenAid service department can please reach out to me I would appreciate it!

Froster Pearl coutertop appliances do NOT match

My husband surprised me with the Pro Line 2-slice toaster, Pro Line electric kettle, and Professional 6500 Design Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer. Even though each appliance was Frosted Pearl, they were all different colors. The toaster and kettle which were going to go next to each other on the countertop were so different in color there was no way it would work (the kettle is a cold white with hardly any sparkle, toaster is a warmer white with more sparkle, the mixer is a creamy white with tons of sparkle).I would also NEVER order directly from Kitchenaid.com which seems counterintuitive because I'd rather order directly from the manufacturer, but their customer service is terrible. You cannot return an item without calling them, so... order from somewhere else that has an easier return policy.When I called to ask about the variation in color across their countertop appliances that were all Frosted Pearl I was first told that the metal that the different appliances were made from could cause variations in the color. This seemed unbelievable to me. As a a company who is selling matching appliances wouldn't you make every effort to have them match, at least close enough that they could sit on the countertop next to each other???The next personI spoke with told me that the appliances were painted in batches, and each batch would be unique, and the appliances would never match. It was suggested that I take my brand new appliances worth over $1K to an autobody paint shop and have them painted to match. Kitchenaid as a company should be able to do WAY BETTER, and be able to more closely match appliances that should match. I cannot believe that I am returning a suite of Frosted Pearl Kitchenaid appliances because they don't match.

Great features, great looking!

This tea kettle is amazing! Now I can boil water for green tea faster than using a kettle on the stovetop, or having to use a thermometer to check the temperature of water heated in the microwave. All you have to do is add water (I use distilled, so I won't get any calcium/mineral buildup inside) set the selector knob on the base to 80 (which is in Celsius) press the power button, and viola! The perfect temperature for green tea (or white, Yerba mate, or Matcha.)Set it on 90 for Oolong, black, Chai, Blooming, hot chocolate, or French press coffee. 100 for herbal tea, Rooibos, oatmeal, or instant soup.Another great feature is that the kettle will hold the temperature you selected until you manually shut off the power button.

In theory...

In theory, this had everything I wanted in a new electric tea kettle: a soft top open, variable temperature setting, and an ergonomic fit in my hand and a stylish look. However, the soft top open seemed a bit sticky and didn't open more than about a 65 degree angle without some help. The biggest downfall is that it had a small piece of silicone around the sensor exposed to hot water AND the entire plastic side panel withe measurements also was exposed to the hot water. So that's a hard pass for me. WHY is it so difficult to find an electric tea kettle that doesn't have any plastic or silicone exposed to the hot water?!

Not worth it!

We’ve had our kettle for a couple of years and have been disappointed from the beginning. The heater doesn’t turn off when the selected temperature has been reached. The button to open the lid has broken; we now fill it through the pouring spout.These may not seem like much, but when all you want to kettle to do is heat water, it’s pretty much everything.Yes it looks great, but it’s simply not worth the price!

Stylish And Functional, With A Lovely Chime

I've had my Pro Line Electric Kettle since 2018 and it's still working perfectly five years later. This kettle has such a stylish look and functional design. The retro gauge on the kettle accurately displays the water temperature for the perfect cup of tea, and other hot drinks. Love the elegant chime! My kettle always chimes and turns off when it reaches the correct temperature, which is easily set by sliding the lever on the base. Prefer the side handle vs. a top handle, and the push button lid makes it easy to fill. I use filtered water and have never had any mineral build up, making cleaning a breeze. A soft cloth keeps the exterior looking beautiful. So happy with my kettle!

The most beautiful and functional teakettle I've ever had

I can't rave enough about this beautiful teakettle. It's a pleasure to use and to look at! It is easy to fill, heats fast, stays cool on the outside, offers temperature choices for various drinks, has a cute soft little bell-chime sound when you turn it on and when it shuts itself off. For the first time, I can select temperature for white or green teas. If I had a wish, it would be that the degrees were listed in Fahrenheit, but I wrote out a little card for conversion purposes. I use this beautiful teakettle every day and just love it.

[Rewarded Review] Sturdy kettle and good service

The variable temperature control seems more durable than the other kettles I've had. Most last a year or two. I'm expecting this Pro Line series to keep on working for years to come. But please note, I've only had this kettle a couple of months. And the range of temps from 50 C to 100 C is larger than some. Plus a shout out to Kitchen Aid for replacing my old kettle, a different model, that didn't work out. Their customer service was most helpful.
