The KitchenAid 7 cup food processor is a capable and solid performer for taking care of the essentials.The unit is well designed. Used it to shred cabbage and carrots for cole slaw, cucumbers for tzatziki, and making hummus. I use my stand mixer for anything dough related, and I don't make pie crust. So, there's never been anything really heavy in it. I never dropped the cup or even banged it against anything. Today, WHILE making hummus, the handle fell off and into several pieces. ... This Food processor is very easy to use, clean, compact yet powerful. We mainly use the processor to chop almonds in our household. We love the pulse function as I can control the fineness of the nuts. The processor is very easy to clean as well. Everything fits in the dishwasher and you can even store the parts back to the machine, without taking up much space in the benchtop. The shredder is also very convenient to make shredded cucumber and carrot for salads. We also like that the lid comes with a latch to prevent explosion when the machine is being turned on. The bowl just clicks onto the machine and there’s no need to twist, as I often find it difficult to twist the bowl out of the machine in other brands. I have pulled it out MAYBE 6 times since it was purchased. Well, with company expected yesterday and all of my ingredients ready in the bowl, the unit would not turn on. No amount of cajoling, checking plugs, resetting the bowls and blade would make it turn on. After heading to the Internet, I see that I am far from the first person to experience a blown fuse. There is no one to repair it, and I am not about to head out and purchase a soldering iron and multimeter to figure this out. I am very upset that I wasted my money, time and ingredients. ... While I would say this is a great product compared to my last kitchenaid food processor, the faulty handle and lack of customer service did it for me. I would love to see what this product could do. Never sliced cheese in a food processor. Would have enjoyed that:0)...
This little beauty replaced a larger Kenwood I had owned for quite a while.Although it has a smaller capacity I find I much prefer its size.I checked reviews of available processors online and Kitchenaid stood out.In terms of effectiveness of chopping, blending and grating it is excellent.While I am thrilled with the efficacy of the attachments, what has sealed the deal for me is the fact that they are all cached inside the bowl when they are not in use Perfect!!!! One of the reasons I replaced the Kenwood is that I couldn't find the grating/grinding attachments, lost over time. It was annoying hunting for them each time I needed them, even more annoying to find one day they were gone.I also really like the way the lid attaches to the bowl.And finally ... I bought the black 7 cup processor about a month ago after reading recommendations from others in a cooking blog . But then I started dieting at the same time. As a result, haven’t used it much. It has been sitting, looking beautiful on my benchtop However, yesterday I was cooking for my son so gave it a try to make breadcrumbs and grate cheese for eggplant parmigiana. I wished there was a ‘real’ instruction book but instead googled to find out which attachment to use. It was so quick to turn my bread slices into crumbs and quick to grate Parmesan. It was also easy to clean and I love that all the attachments fit inside the jug so no more scrambling around in the cupboard or drawer to find an attachment.
