A while ago I set out on a mission to find the "perfect" pair of pants. Something rugged that I won't have to replace every year. Something stylish that I can wear around town without looking like I just got back from a backpacking trip. I think these pants hit the mark. I bought them in both the dark navy color and the teak color. Between the 2 colors, I wear them almost every day. They are extremely comfortable. They do great on weekend hikes, camping trips, and working at the office. I get compliments on them all the time. Love these pants.

I have many pairs Kuhl Renegade Rock pants. I love them and wear them almost every day. BUT they recently discontinued the old version and 'updated' these - and largely ruined them. They use to fit fairly slim, now they are baggy. And they just fit weird - like the waist is oddly high now. I don't understand what they were going for here.I also don't know why brands mess with hugely popular products. You don't need to change just for the sake of change. If a product is popular and loved, let it continue to be popular and loved. In any case, I am returning the multiple pairs I bought and will need to find a new default pair of pants to wear :(.Side note: I also just tried the shorts version, and they have the same problem.

I purchased these pants because I loved the first pair that I bought, and I have made several other purchases from Kuhl. However, this pair had an enormous hole in the front right pocket that I did not realize was there until I wore them for the first time. I will have it repaired on my own, but I thought that I would warn people to check before purchasing. For the price, I thought that this would not happen. Thanks.

I was looking for running pants to go trail running in cool weather. I didn’t want sweat pants or joggers that were too heavy or too flimsy and I wanted something with decent pockets to keep my phone and keys in (they fall out of those baggy sweatpants). I found these in a local outdoor store. Very comfortable, good tailoring and good fit, lightweight - they appear to be somewhat water resistant (spilled water on myself accidentally and it ran off the pants). They are also loose enough to allow for movement- eg running across trails, climbing over boulders. I love them. I bought a second pair and now also wear them as casual wear around the house on weekends because they are comfortable and useful, and they look good. I have bookmarked Kuhl as a brand I will buy ... I must, sadly, agree with sone of the other reviewers who noted that this pant went from perfect to poor. The fit of my first pair (green khaki or a kind of burnt olive) are simply the best fitting pants in my dresser. I tried them on at REI and though the tag seemed large for me at 34 waist, the fit suggested otherwise. I then ordered a second pair in a pinkish tone in the same size and they were huge. Baggy and unattractive in a way I would never pick off the shelf. Not sure if the latest colorway is like the first or the secobd pair I got snd I probably never will. Not only is Kuhl's quality control/design department asleep at the wheel, the company still doesnt manufacture their pants in Fair Trade factories meaning that your "adventure" psnts are likely made ... I, for obe, will look elsewhere!
A outstanding pant. I am 6’ 2” and 175 lbs. I bought a 34 x32” pant with Klassik fit. It is a perfect fit. This pant is very well constructed and is made to last a very long time. I plan on buying 2 more pair. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this pant. It is very comfortable and weather resistant. Which makes it outstanding!
Every once in a while you find a style of clothing that works so well for you that you wind up buying multiples of that model, in different colors. Renegade is that model of pants for me. I currently own 6 pairs of Renegade pants, and I’m am likely going to be buying a few more (in different colors). Why? Because they are the most comfortable, practical and cool looking pants I’ve ever owned. As far as use of pants, while I do enjoy a nice hike on occasion, I’m more of an urban adventurer. Living and working in NY, I find the pants perfect for my treks through the city, with it’s durable fabric material and it’s Many pockets that hold all the little things that make my life easier. Renegade, I’m so happy I found you!
Rocks, thorns, even jaguar teeth probably fail to scratch these things. They're indestructible so far. Very comfortable. though heavier than some of my other pairs, they make up for it in increased toughness. If I'm going in a rockier or thornier area these are the go-to. If I'm doing more laying around or casual hiking, I'd prefer a lighter pair just because, but it's not like these wouldn't perform just fine at that as well. Really solid stuff, pretty much what I've come to expect from Kuhl but even better.
I've seen this brand at REI and could never justify the price. Sometimes the fit for certain styles was also a turn off. But alas I came across the Renegade Rock Pants, tapered.I work outside during the Spring-Fall. They're light and very comfortable. There's a cinch at the ankle to adjust the degree of taper. I haven't had them long enough to vouch for durability, but they feel stronger and I feel will last longer than the pants I was using daily and replacing (prana). Additional pockets is always a plus. I picked up the dark green pair on a whim and fell in love with the color. Will be great for the Fall!If these hold up well over the last few months of the season and into next, I'll probably fill my closet with more options and will hopefully become the last ... I’ve been a fan of Kuhl pants for awhile. I tend to go back and forth between Kuhl and Patagonia pants for reference. These pants fit great. I enjoy these much better than old Kuhl and other adventurer style pants. One of the problems are those pants are too baggy. This fit great on an 5’11/185. These pants are solid albeit they get kinda warm as a trade off. The pockets feel good. The right rear pocket has a zipper while the left does not. The two front side pockets are a good size and have good quality zippers. I don’t personally use the two unsecure back pockets as I’m paranoid to lose something. I really like these for travel. They don’t wrinkle and look nice. Could be out on the trails or get by for dinner at a nice restaurant.
