La Roche Posay Toleriane Soothing Protective Skincare 40ml

I received this as a member of the Review Crew. The 40ml tube was the perfect size for keeping in your bag and travelling. The Sensitive Creme was suited to my sensitive skin and felt light to apply. My husband developed some dry, irritated skin while we were travelling and this creme helped to soothe his skin after a couple of days. It is light, quickly absorbing into my skin. I love that it's fragrance free! My skin feels calm and hydrated after applying it, compared to the irritation I usually feel with other moisturisers. After using this creme for over a month my skins feels smoother, better hydrated with less breakouts. I'm going to preface this by saying that this moisturiser isn't technically suited to my skin type. I have combo skin, and at the moment it is summer, so my skin leans very muchly to the oily side. This moisturiser is advertised as suiting those with dry skin, however when i received this cream in the mail for review I was just coming to the end of a week of a cold. My skin was angry, especially around my nose, it was red dry and flaky. My other fail safe moisturisers weren't working and if anything stung a little when I applied. I love the inclusion of ceramides and some nice hydrating ingredients but this probably keeps my skin hydrated for most of a day, not up to 48 hours. It wasn't a super helpful makeup base and made my sunscreen greasy, so this will be a nighttime only product for me. I used this in several ways over a few weeks and there are no spectacular, awe-inspiring results in terms of hydration, glow, feelings of skin health and bounce/plumpness; it's a simple non-irritating moisturiser. I love La Roche-Posay! My skin changes with the seasons but I know that I am safe when I use this brand and it isn’t going to give me a rash. It is fragrance-free, so no itchy/watery eyes which is great! It has a light consistency so it is perfect for summer. My skin feels nourished, hydrated (without any greasiness) and it doesn’t sting when I apply this cream. It's small enough to keep in your gym bag or handbag so you can apply it whenever you need to.

After cleansing and applying this cream, I don't feel my sking like pulling, but I don't feel it super hydrated either. I mean, you will not feel this deep, rich hydrating sensation. But I have to admit that my dryness and the flackiness on my cheeks has gone after daily use of this cream.Conclusion: I would definitely suggest it to people with sensitive skin!

Burns my skin

I have rosacea with sensitive skin. This moisturizer, like anything with cyclopentasiloxane which is hard to avoid these days, burns my skin. Thanks to a friend I tried the overseas SENSITIVE version of this that contains niacinamide and no cyclopentasiloxane and it was WONDERFUL! I was hoping I could use this US version over the longer term since it is the only one available to me here in the US. I tried this US formula once before a long time ago and it burned then, but I figured I'd give it another chance. It still burns my skin. I hope we will get the SENSITIVE version in the US soon. The Toleriane and Toleriane SENSITIVE formulas are very different. I do not understand why there can't be a Toleriane line and a Toleriane SENSITIVE line. That would make everyone happy. I hope that is something LRP will consider going forward.

Good for non oily skin not good for breakouts

I used a sample first then liked it so bought one. I don’t know if the batch was different but I found this product not as good as my sample. Also it does have some ingredients that might cause you to break out. I stopped using it as I have very sensitive combination skin and I was breaking out (I don’t know if it was from this cream but I didn’t want to risk it). If you have dry skin or not oily skin then maybe it will work for you. But if you’re prone to breakouts I would suggest getting something else.
