Lavazza Professional Dek Decaffeinated Coffee Beans | My Coffee Shop
Imported from Italy. Lavazza Dek Decaf Espresso Whole Bean coffee offers a well-balanced blend from Brazil and Asia. Full-bodied, long-lasting flavor for those who want to avoid caffeine without giving up delicious Italian coffee. Lavazza uses a modern process of decaffeination with carbon dioxide that does not diminish the flavor and aroma of the roasted coffee beans, a potential downfall of the Swiss water process. The use of carbon dioxide and pure water also avoids the use of potentially harmful substances in the decaffeination process. What to expect from Lavazza's Dek Decaf? A medium-bodied, full flavored espresso roast with no bitter aftertaste. Amaze your friends and family, they won't believe it is decaffeinated. Try a taste test and see! Dek Decaf beans also blend well with your favorite roast to create a custom 50/50 half decaf option.

Who is to rate the taste of a coffee? It’s personal & I like this one a lot. True to the WLL description. 15g for a double shot works well for me (and is the recommended amount on the bag). Well rounded, tasty decaf bean. I find that decaf coffee does not develop as much crema.I sometimes mix it with Lavazza Super Crema for a great taste with half the caffeine (both work with the same grind setting and weight). If you just got your first ‘real’ coffee machine, like I did, then I recommend to buy a few different coffees with various flavor notes and compare - you may be surprised. This truly enriched my new coffee experience. (Yes, you will have to single dose through your grinder and note the grind setting/weight you use for each coffee, as they might be slightly ... MoreWho is to rate the taste of a coffee? I purchased three bags of this because I love the flavor of coffee but don't need to OD on caffeine. The first reason I love this coffee is it gives me more control over how I can pull a shot. I'm using this in a Gaggia Classic Pro, and until I had this bean, I was not able to get my shot time between 20-30 seconds even when over dosing my portafilter and my grind set to the consistency of talcum powder; I was always pulling shots in the teens of seconds. The crema is just as good if not equivalent to the Lavazza Super Crema. The flavor is there as well for you to adjust to your liking. I've pulled everything from fruity, balanced, and bold/bitterish shots from this coffee. For me this coffee offers everything I want in a bean. I have been using Lavazza dek beans for a long time and I find it the best possible. I have tried other decaf beans which I ordered by mistake (Lavazza gran filtro and Whole latte uncoditional) since they were not specifically for espresso and found they produced a decent espresso but with more bitterness. I finished using these beans by mixing them with Lavazza dek but with still a hint of bitterness absent in the pure Lavazza dek. I have been using a Gaggia Carezza for many years and I struggled with a blade grinder because a burr grinder was not in my budget when I first bought the Carezza. After purchasing a Baratza Encore which is an entry level grinder, I find that I can produce a perfect espresso every time. I am not so proficient to discuss details of the flavor of Lavazza Dek Decaf. However I can say that I avoided decaf for most of my life until trying these beans. Frequently my wife is surprised that I served her Decaf.
Sorry to be an outlier to all the five-star reviews, but I found this decaf extremely disappointing--sharp, off-tasting, extremely bitter. Perhaps it's the robusta beans. Or maybe the fact that the package lists no roasting date but expires in one year!! I've been a decaf espresso drinker for years and maybe I've been spoiled by the complex flavors and smooth finish from decafs by specialty roasters like Stumptown or Blue Bottle, but this reminded me of many of the espressos I tasted in Italy, which often tasted burnt and sour.
Lavazza Dek Decaf Espresso Whole Bean was my favorite until my last purchase. The coffee I received is far from what it used to be. No rich, thick crema and not that delicious taste I was used to. The package doesn’t say Espresso and the beans are not 100% Arabica as the add claims. These beans are a blend of Brazilian Arabica and Robusta. Also the add says Water processed but the bag says Decafinated using CO2.This is definitely not an espresso roast like the beans I was buying before. I have to mix it with Lavazza Super Crema Espresso to make a decent cup of coffee.
Whole Latte Love is a fantastic company. Their orders arrive promptly and ACCURATELY. No Pandemic excuses. You can count on them. You want to hear about the coffee. This one has a smooth flavor. No bitter acidic tones. It's VERY DIFFICULT to find a good decaf whole bean coffee. This one delivers. We enjoy a cup of this anytime, day or night.Try it. You'll like it. 😉
If you like good coffee, and prefer decaf, you've had a lot of disappointments over the years. We've found that most places where we can get truly good brewed decaf use Lavaza Dek espresso whole beans. Once we learned that we began buying it, and Whole latte love has good prices, and fast, convenient service. If you like Illy, you'll like the Lavaza even better.
After falling in love with LaVazza Super Crema as our go to espresso in the morning, we decided to try the Decaf LaVazza whole bean. We already had two excellent locally roasted decaf blends, but the convenience of ordering all our whole bean coffee from 1st in Coffee was too tempting. So, we conducted an entire family blind decaf taste test while on at the beach over Christmas. The result was five out of five preferred the LaVazza. It has a bold aroma and flavor with a soft finish and natural sweetness so no added sugar is needed. I ordered 4 lbs of it along with my usual 6 kilos of Super Crema and Segafredo Mild to get us to Spring Break.
