Love this beautiful Dutch oven. I can?t believe it was on sale. The color is gorgeous. The white interior helps me to see items in the pot as they char and the loops on the handle makes it easy to move from the oven and stovetop. I use it for roasting and soups but mainly bought it to bake sourdough. It?s a little larger than I?d like for sourdough but it still does a beautiful job anyway.

After purchasing one for my daughter for Christmas I fell in love with this piece! After reading reviews, I upped it to the oval as many commented it was easier to fit larger pieces of meat, chickens, etc. The clean up of this is incredible and things get so tender. (Barkeeper?s Friend is a perfect way to eliminate any remaining browned areas). The only downside is the weight - if you?re gonna use coated case iron, it?s gonna be heavy. The bigger the pot, the heavier it will be. Colors for everyone. Wish I had bought mine years ago!

In honor of my college graduation, I finally splurged and bought myself a Le Creuset dutch oven!First off, I debated on the size for awile, but am glad I got the 5.5Qt. It feeds 4 easily with leftovers. I can even make an entire chicken in the pot.Secondly, as someone who is on the petite size, it is quite light compared to other cast iron dutch ovens.Finally, like the title suggests- this is a splurge, but if you enjoy cooking this is worth the price!
If I could give this pan a 10, I would. If I had known that cooking with a Dutch oven would create the results it does with this wonderful pan, I would have bought one 30 years ago. I can do anything in this vessel - braze, roast, simmer, brown with exceptional results. What to do with simple chicken tenders? Brown, add vegetables and spices, wine and tomato paste, a flavorful au jus just happens! Now I look at every protein wondering what I can do with it in my new Dutch oven. Remarkable.
I have my Le Creuset dutch oven for almost 30 years. It is my go-to for soups, roasts, large pots of sauces, even pork chops with apples. It is sturdy, easy cleans, and cooks evenly and perfectly every time. Plus, the colors are beautiful. It looks great on the stove while cooking and to the table for serving, and can be transferred to the oven when needed.

I have waited a long time to start my own Le Creuset collection. I love to cook, and I've always heard such great things about the Le Creuset brand. However, they are quite pricey! I finally decided to splurge on the 5.5 Round Dutch Oven - and I am so glad I did! I've made stuffed peppers, marinara sauce and a pot of soup so far. It warms up quickly and cooks so evenly - its amazing. On top of everything, clean-up is a joy. It just wipes clean. I purchased the Meringue color and it is gorgeous! My biggest decision now is whether to collect all the same color - or mix them up! Either way, my collection will definitely be growing.
I've used my 5.5 qt Crueset dutch oven for years and still love it--however, as my kids have grown, it became clear that our family appetite had outgrown my favorite pot. I wanted something that could cook either two 4 lb chickens or a 10 lb bird. After reading a lot of reviews and the Cruset advice re: size, I initially ordered the 8 qt oval from Sur La Table--but it was TOO SMALL. Yes, you could fit a 10 lb chicken as Crueset says, but you would have zero room for vegetables or anything else. Sur La Table was great and exchanged it and the 9.5 qt is perfect! You can do a pork shoulder or rack of lamb or a large chicken with all the fixings, and it still fits easily in my oven. The Merigue color is beautiful too.
I got one of these as a wedding gift almost 20 years ago from a John Lewis wedding gift list service. Although the price seems a lot for a casserole dish, the quality of these pots is incredible and only eclipsed by the amazing customer support I have received from Le Creuset. After being used almost daily for so many years we noticed some of the enamel was wearing away inside the pot. I emailed the Le Creuset UK helpline and attached photos of the pot. They were incredibly helpful and offered to send out a free replacement which arrived a few days later. TBH I thought 20 years of service was a good innings but Le Creuset really mean it when they guarantee these things for life.
