This Lego set is just so versatile for budding builders who want to create an icon to remember! The various and multiple coloured pieces are superb, making for a very interesting and beautifully coloured masterpiece. We had lots of fun with this set, creating cars, trucks, planes, hellicopters and bikes of both ultra modern and antique vintage, as well as testing out all our imaginations greatly, altogether, a fun piece of amusement for ll the family.

Great set. The spinning function is a big hit with our 6 year old, and it is a major bonus that it doesn't require batteries. He started off by building all of the projects in the book (and there are enough gears to do all of them at once), then broke them apart and he's doing his own projects now.

My 4 & 9 year old loved this set. My nine year old said this was cooler then a creator set because you can make more then one thing at time. They thought the gear part was fun. The owl rolling it's eyes, the swinging monkey and carousel. Highly recommend. Worth the money

This was a great addition to my daughters Lego collection. We purchased this set along with the Large Brick set. My daughter wanted a more flexible collection of Lego as previously she had only received specific sets which were limited to building specific things. As she had watched Lego Masters she wanted to be more creative and this set really allowed her to let her imagination run riot. The book supplied had heaps of ideas that could all be created at once. It was an excellent addition for the large brick set.
This set helped to transform my 5-year old son's collection of classic lego from an occasional plaything to the toy he plays with every day.The gears are simple enough that he can put them together himself and he enjoys making new moving creations. We have added four technic wheels and a couple of axels from 'pick a brick' so that he can more easily make vehicles where something turns when they are pushed along.
My grandson wanted this for his birthday. I shopped around and found it much cheaper at Walmart. He has had hours of creative and imaginary play. And he’s able to use his technology for ideas to build.
This classic Lego set is loved by my 6 year old who loves to experiment with the movement of the gears. The variety and quantity of pieces makes this a great value purchase. I'm extremely pleased.
I wanted to find a set that I could use to introduce my 5 yr old girls to gears. This for the bill just right for them. I had them each choose a model to build in turn. The models in the instructions are easy and entertaining for them; they were very excited about each one. It would've been nice if there were extra gears beyond those used for the models in the instructions, to encourage creativity rather than just following the instructions here, but I suppose I could just get another set for that.
Really! This collection of bricks leaves the imagination as the only driver for what can be produced. By itself or combined with other brick boxes it's a winner. Took it away on a holiday, and on the two rainy days we had many and various creations being produced. Great addition, or starter pack to any budding Lego builder.
This is a fun one. Don't pay too much for it though. 244 pieces is not a lot of Legos when you include all those cool, but tiny gears and axles and whatnot. We found a killer deal on the 900 piece Classic box for Christmas, and this was a great supplement a month later. It broadened the scope of our builds significantly. I would advise building everything in the idea book immediately. It takes no time at all, and it's a great primer, especially for kids on all the neat stuff you can do with the gears. My five-year-old has gotten surprisingly creative with them, and I don't think he would have come up with most of this stuff if we hadn't gone through the book. We really enjoy this set, but again, it's not a huge volume. If you're only buying one set, look for one ... MoreThis is a fun one.
