Another great Lego set

My 4.5 yr. old received this for Christmas and was super excited to build it. I didn't know how much of it he would be able to do himself, seeing the recommended age range start at 6. After working on it for a few hours a day over the course of 4-5 days, he completed the entire thing himself, only needing help to find a couple pieces. The box contains 10 separate bags that are all numbered, and different instruction books for all phases. The books are great, showing exactly what pieces are needed and where they go on each page. The quality is also top notch, as you would expect from Lego. This is a pretty big set too, the box is larger than it looks online. If you have a little one that likes to build, I highly recommend this set, even if they're not quite 6 yrs. old.

Best set ever!

This is the best set ever the best part is the fire truck the fire truck has A lot of options for its height. I'd recomend that you get it from amazon as it is only $65.99 on amazon. The pole is very nice works perfectly. The rotating doors work great and are very secure. I like the office as well. The bunks ad a realistic touch to it, thoughI do wish that they would put 2 bunks there as the top story is quite empty with only 1 set of bunks. I also wish that they would give you something bigger to be on fire and that there would at least be more flames so i could at least put flames on sometthing else as it is very unrealistic for the fire deparment to bring out a whole ladder truck just for a small hot dog stand burning. Overall this is a great set and I would ... MoreThis is the best set ever the best part is the fire truck the fire truck has A lot of options for its height. Bought this for my son's 6th birthday, I was ably assisted by the 6 year old himself and 2 brothers (one slightly older, one slightly younger). This set turned out to be an excellent choice as there was something for all of them. I built the helicopter first/fast, which gave The Younger something to play with, The Older was set to work building the main fire station. The 6 year old did very well building the fire truck himself (leaving Mummy slightly suprised but very proud!). It is now a week old, and they are still avidly playing with it, and fighting over the sausages. Kids are weird.

Disappointing...

So I like this fire station. The working fire pole is great. The garage doors are awesome. It comes with a good assortment of vehicles.But.My son had a hard time building it because it kept falling apart. And it kept falling apart during play. The base plates are 4 squares (which is a great idea), but this means that the garage for the engine is built from two separate base plates that have to be attached. The pieces used to attach them are minimal and don't do a good job of keeping the garage together. It also unnecessarily increased the difficulty of the build on carpet. This is exacerbated by the fact that the garage structures have little structure to them. They are basically a series of poles built out of 2x2 blocks. This is exacerbated by the fact that the garage structures have little structure to them. They are basically a series of poles built out of 2x2 blocks. The poles don't stand up to much force at all before falling over or disconnecting from the roof. There are a lot of places where it seems simple enough to add interlocking pieces, but those aren't done. This would increase the strength of the set so that it is usable in play. The revolving door (which I love) is not well built. There aren't enough connections around it to hold everything in place. The same goes for the angled connectors between the three wings (again, brilliant idea, but poorly executed). I kept having to reattach them for my son until I rebuilt the whole set to be sturdier. If this was a "display" piece, I might not care, but this isn't a display set and moving and playing with the buildings in this set became unfun.I hope this set gets redesigned with a little more strength in the build.

Enjoyable build.... but

This is a good (not so) little set, just over 950 pieces and one built is quite a substantial size (these are all plus points for me)Set includes a decent fire-engine, fire car, helicopter and extra scene items. It was purchased for my fire-engine/lego mad 4.5 year old son, though I did most of the building on his behalf as the buildings are quite challenging to put together and parts of the fire engine can be fiddly. Though now he is 5 he can build most of these items himself. The reason I've marked this set down is because of the way it clips together, on each side are an angled piece that sits at the top and bottom of a door frame, these are integral to the sides of the section but does not mean that the sections need to be clipped together. When you do clip the sections together you need to locate and push 4 joining pins through a quite fragile side section of each building. this fixes the whole set together in a rather awkward angle, that then does not work with any street scene or city layout. In the end I modified the buildings to allow them to be joined in one long line.I think that some lessons need to be learnt from the police station and then applied to this set to make it easier to incorporate into a street scene

Fantastic set! My Son loves it.
6 January 2017

We brought this set for my son for Christmas. He had the fire utility vehicle for his birthday (he loves anything car related) only being 4 and a half we were unsure if he would be to young for lego but always loved Duplo and his sisters lego. He helped me build it (he spread the pieces round and put the people together! Lol) Since building he hasn't stopped playing and loves it. His favourite part is the working fire pole. From a adult point of view its great value for money (£50) comes with lots of accessories. A fire chief car, large fire engine, helicopter and other props. You can build in different variations and is much improved on the fire station I had as a child. Was reasonably easy to build and would recommend.

Great Lego set
22 December 2016

This Lego set is amazing. I bought it for my 5 year old son and he loves it. There's a lot of great little features that kept him well entertained. Playing with this Lego set lets his imagination run free and it goes great with other Lego sets, not just the Lego City sets either. There are quite a few pieces but assembly is easy when you follow the directions. Give my sons age; I put the Lego set together for him, so if your child is younger then the recommended 6-12 age, I would encourage you to help them with assembly. Overall we love this Lego set and I highly recommend it, especially if you looking for a Lego set that offers multiple features to play with.

Great attention to details, cool roller doors
31 December 2018

Bought this for my son for Xmas, he loves it. The only negatives are that I wish I hadn’t connected the three buildings as it sometimes comes apart when he’s turning it around. The tall blocks in the back of the building 3 are big and because of that that they don’t make the rear part secure, so the building can come apart toy as the toy is rotated around.there are a lot of cool features to this set. You get a female and male firefighter., a fire truck with extendable ladder, a fire pickup and a helicopter. The main building has a rotating door which is fun plus a pole the figurines can slide down. Directions are very clear and easy to use which is typical of all LEGO sets.

So disappointed with Target
18 December 2017

I trusted Target. Ordered online. When it was delivered, I wrapped it up as a Christmas present. The kiddie I gave it to, had to open it before Christmas because they are going away for the holidays. Guess what? I only found out there was something wrong because he could not build it. There is no instruction manual. We built some because he really wanted it, based on website instructions. But I found out 4 or 5 packets were missing, too?!I only put 1 star because it won't go to comments window if I didn't rate it at all.The box seals were not tampered, that's why I assumed that it was new and complete. This was a Christmas present that is why I am so upset with you, Target. Not trusting you again

These "Legos" seem good at first but they really are low quality. The pieces don't stay together very long they don't line up accurately. And the colors are weird. I got multiple different shades of blue that were supposed to be the same color. There were multiple shades of gray that were supposedly the same color according to the instructions. My son keeps getting frustrated with them because they don't stay together very long. The Lego guy hands fall out by themselves. The garage doors don't stay together at all, they never did. I would recommend staying away from this product entirely. It is worth the extra money to buy actual Legos. We bought a brand new Lego set at the exact same time as this and put them together at the same time to compare.
